Those are normal 2 story townhouses, the road is on a hill they're maybe 50 yards in front of me, The stadium is the bottom of the hill on the flat ground, about 3/4 of a mile out in the distance

The 28 1.8 is nice, but the 30 1.4 is absolutely fucking rad. Get the sigma.

I need to get a better setup so I can take macro shots of knives. I really want to do this.

Is there a lens I can purchase for a shitty Cannon A570IS that will enable this to be done or do I need a better camera? I'm not knowledgeable in upgrading cameras.

You really can't get a new lens, since your lens is not detachable and is built into your camera... however you can always get adapters (I'm not too familiar with them, but my dad has a Sony dsc H5 with a zoom lens adapter and it works fine). I just Google'd it and I came up with this for a macro adapter:

If you're serious about your photography (or want to be), I'd get a DSLR just because they're.... all around amazing (and costly ) and you won't have to worry about your macro problem when you can just buy a macro lens...
