If you watched any bit of the trial coverage from anywhere outside of the Jury box and think he is guilty, then I don't know what to say, because we must live in two completely separate realities.
1/25/2014 4:29:42 PM
Neither of us know for sure. That's the point. As far as the consensus I quoted earlier about probably guilty, but not enough evidence to convict goes...maybe that was for Jason Young
1/25/2014 5:35:45 PM
Yeah, I think that probably was about Jason Young. But I mean, yeah, none of us know, but based on the evidence presented, it seems incredibly unlikely that Brad did it, unless he suddenly learned how to completely clean a house in a manner that left no trace of bodily fluids, fibers, or cleaners; or he rented a car or van, lured Nancy into it, killed her in it, and returned it, leaving no trace whatsoever back to himself. Oh, and he got the vehicle back to wherever he rented it during the night and got back home in time to report her missing... but forgot to delete his Google Map search where he magically zoomed exactly in on the spot where he wanted to dump the body in a 45 second span
1/25/2014 7:28:46 PM
I'm not going to say he is innocent, I just don't know. Evidence wasn't there though.Something curious though, the dude Nancy was banging was inconsistent on the stand when compared to his deposition... His deposition he said he called Nancy for coffee, on the stand he said she called him because she needed to talk she was not feeling safe. That guy really bothered me, he was off putting. Also, boz is running for DA? Jesus Christ. Count me in for the fuck boz movement.
1/25/2014 9:25:45 PM
post on facebook that you don't want Boz for DAand yeah, that dude was sketchy as shit, and he definitely had motive. he's the kind of person an actual unbiased investigation would have looked at to see if he had an alibi.
1/25/2014 9:32:57 PM
hell yeah an unbiased police officer should have investigated him further... he lied under questioning when he wasn't a suspect, and the police knew it. That's normally a hint that he's hiding something
1/26/2014 2:20:41 AM
My opinion from the start was that he did it, however as the evidence was presented it became totally apparent to me that:1. If he did it, he certainly could have had the motivation because of her misrepresentation of their relationship whilst living outside of their means, but not the appropriate amount of time to commit the act based on the timeline of event presented2. There were several other much more viable suspects that the Cary PD completely ignored3. The guy got railroaded and was at no point afforded due process4. The CPD and Wake DA's office were hiding behind the "national security" proclamation to railroad him when the "smells of planted" evidence they presented vis a vis the google seach started to fall apart on closer inspection - their technical presentation and assertions did not match the people they put on the stand, while the defense got totally blocked in their ability to defend against that line by sheer technical ineptitude on the part of the judge. All of that adds up to the guy very obviously not getting a fair trial. In my mind, the obvious suspects are the guys she was screwing around with her husband on. It came out that she took several lovers, and it was in doubt that one of the kids was even Brad's.
1/26/2014 6:07:39 PM
And the court wouldn't allow the paternity issue to be even discussed... Then Boz had the nerve to say in his closing arguments not to "blame the victim of domestic abuse". Fucking scumbag
1/26/2014 6:35:19 PM
ahaha, I went to Boz's facebook election page and posted something about this trial. it got deleted with a quickness.
1/26/2014 6:57:04 PM
apparently a bunch of my facebook friends are friends with him or his gf (i know neither of them), so I keep getting invited to his facebook page. I've replied to the invitations with why I don't want him to be a DA, but everyone else needs to share on their facebook too.

I love WRAL's photo selection.
9/8/2014 5:06:46 PM
I hope he doesnt cop, I understand why he would but I was really looking forward to him getting a new trial
9/8/2014 5:08:42 PM
Do the kids still think Nancy is camping in the woods?
9/8/2014 5:17:11 PM
^^ Same here. I've got the same feeling I get when I find out a favorite show of mine is being cancelled
9/8/2014 5:32:04 PM
They cant keep TWW off the jury pool.
9/8/2014 6:14:08 PM
9/9/2014 9:07:08 AM
the only reason i could see him taking a plea is if he doesn't have the money to defend himself again, it's pretty bullshit that our courts are so broken
9/9/2014 9:11:50 AM
yeah but 7 years is nothing when the other option is the rest of your natural life in prison...Neither option is great, but he probably did not think he would be convicted the first time. There is also the possibility he is guilty too. The state never did prove his guilt in the first trial, but new evidence could arise to be used against him up until the point of his case being disposed of. If he knows he is guilty, and the prosecutors are still looking for evidence, the plea is a no brainer.
9/9/2014 10:08:08 AM
if the prosecutors had been looking for evidence, they would have subpoenaed google or they would have subpoenaed the cell phone company... Or maybe they would have, you know, actually interrogated the guy who had a motive and actually lied to them during routine questioning.
9/9/2014 11:42:39 PM
9/9/2014 11:45:26 PM
despite the fact that he was nowhere near her when she was murdered, yeah
9/9/2014 11:49:20 PM
I was unaware he was wearing a GPS tracker on his person at the same time his wife was strangled.[Edited on September 9, 2014 at 11:55 PM. Reason : Perhaps you should contact his defense team with this evidence burro.]
9/9/2014 11:54:40 PM
well, he was on camera around the time she was abducted from her run, so there's that. I guess he capable of teleporting at will, right?
9/10/2014 12:00:09 AM
The key word there is around
9/10/2014 12:12:16 AM
So just to be clear here, you're in the "100% no way he murdered his wife" camp here, right?
9/10/2014 12:14:12 AM
I'm in the "unless he figured out how to break the laws of physics and be in multiple places at the same time, then there's no way he had the opportunity to murder his wife" camp, yes. you are probably in the "I feel like being a giant troll" camp, as you are known to do
9/10/2014 12:26:51 AM
So that's a yes.[Edited on September 10, 2014 at 12:39 AM. Reason : You probably think Jason Young is innocent too.]
9/10/2014 12:36:45 AM
It's pretty easy to be in the "we don't know what happened but there damn sure wasn't enough evidence to convict him and his trial was royally fucked" camp. And if you are in that camp, it's easy to see why he would go for the plea, do his time and get out rather than chance getting hosed again.
9/10/2014 7:22:58 AM
^
9/10/2014 8:26:58 AM
my biggest problem with the case was not even that there wasn't sufficient evidence to remove reasonable doubt, but that the prosecutors never even offered a consistent story of what might have happened. they had 3 or 4 different versions of what might have happened that they kept changing, so without even offering what they thought could have happened I had trouble even getting to the point of weighing their evidence. the whole trial seemed backwards, where Cooper had to prove his innocence instead of the state proving he was guilty (as most cases are because our courts are broken).
9/10/2014 8:38:25 AM
9/10/2014 8:40:40 AM
So who else is in the "100% no way he was the murderer unless he teleported" camp?[Edited on September 10, 2014 at 3:45 PM. Reason : I have a feeling that's a camp of 1]
9/10/2014 3:45:06 PM
9/10/2014 3:48:50 PM
It essentially is. IIRC, he had a pretty strong alibi for the morning, which explains why the prosecution went to such pains to suggest that she was murdered at night. Essentially, he had no chance to do everything that was done in the morning, so they had to "prove" that he did it at night. otherwise, why focus so hard on the phone call at HT? And this doesn't even begin to discuss the autopsy results which also strongly suggested that she died in the morning.[Edited on September 10, 2014 at 10:00 PM. Reason : ]
9/10/2014 9:59:23 PM
They never proved any of their theory about the router.
9/11/2014 10:46:43 PM
What do you expect? Brad threw the router into Lochmere Lake.

All of that would have required actual investigation by CPD, which, given that they couldn't find porcelain ducks that were in their position, is clearly too much to ask of them
9/14/2014 7:16:23 PM
yeah, porcelain ducks make terrible investigators when they are in that position
