SO I am going to a Hurricanes game, security doesn't give a shit If I bring one camera, no bag, no flash, but a decent size lens right?
3/12/2010 10:31:19 AM
I was mad after taking a couple shots of that ladybug to find out my wife had screwed with the camera and set the ISO to 800. Damn noise. When I'd turned it down, it wasn't there anymore.

I took this when I got bored, in between games while volunteering at the Special Olympics MA Winter Games basketball tournament.http://www.flickr.com/photos/unincbrtn/4433805364/in/photostream/...I actually like the bokeh in the background, especially with the letters in the stands at Assumption College.

^ i like the one with the two round buildings. (silohs?)Here are a couple more from our trip. And I guess technically this doesn't belong since it wasn't taken with a DSLR, but I like it...set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cody_clark/sets/72157623612405914/

^^ Love the silos. Great shot^ that P&S shot would work well as a B&W imo. Great shot but the green window & 2 tv's distract me a bit since they're the only color. What was the 1st pic taken with? Really interesting since it seems the horizon is tilted to the left but the monument is tilted to the right. Am I just losing it? Also, I really want a fisheye....

A pic of a couple of Apache Helicopters landing at KRDU General Aviation back on Feb 20th.Most weekends with decent weather I try to spend some time out at KRDU and practice with my old trusty Canon XT.

I was bored at work the other day and *gasp* decided to waste some time with tiltshiftmaker. I tried it out on a few aerial photos I took of campus.
3/15/2010 12:07:44 PM
Senez that ladybug shot is hot.Tiltshifts always make things look like miniature models.... I like it for that reason.

A Brick furnace, from the Guignard Brick works, Cayce, SC. The Brick works were operating between 1900 and 1950. These furnaces built between 1911 and 1930 (not sure if this is the 1911 or the 1930, but I think 1930, as it is slightly seperated from the other 3 just like it. The South Carolina state house, with the Strom Thurmond statue in front of it.

A memorial to the confederate soldiers of South Carolina. The flag on the flag pole is the confederate flag, I really wanted it to stand up, but it just wasn't a windy enough day.Found this in a parking lot, I used the point and shoot method on this picture, but taken with my Nikon.[Edited on March 15, 2010 at 3:48 PM. The pic of the Apaches was taken on 2-20-2010. There was a total of 5 Apaches that landed outside of KRDU General Aviation that day. Here is a link to a high-res imageof all 5 birds:http://www.flickr.com/photos/ke4znr/4379163911/sizes/o/in/set-72157623479886008/ And a link to the full set of pictures I took that day:http://www.flickr.com/photos/ke4znr/sets/72157623479886008/Thanks for the info from everyone about the Apaches. I am just a Ham Radio Geek who likes to combine aircraft monitoring with a little aviation photography on the side And a good number of people here have some great photography skills as demonstrated in this thread! Thanks for sharing!
3/15/2010 7:40:46 PM
^^^ i don't think it's technically or compositionally remarkable as you put it, but i like it and it's not offensive to the eyes. i think the placement of the silos is good and the soft light works well with the brown grass and blue skies.if you don't like it, you don't like it. it's all personal tastes.]
