suggestions on where to find a white skirt in this style?http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5727&vid=1&pid=741487&scid=741487002i used to have a white skirt from gap in this style - just plain white no eyelit or tiered bullshit. it was JUST LIKE THIS but white. and then i sat on a bench in my courtyard 2 years ago that had been repainted (apparently) and there were no signs and it didn't look wet and hadn't changed color...well...there went my white skirt and i haven't been able to find one like it sense but i want one - it goes with everythingggg. and p.s. when did gap get so freaking expensive?
5/17/2010 12:26:03 AM
do want that last necklace... I thought the same thing when looking at gap.com. I have a $25 gift card but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to find any dresses or skirts or nice tops for that price.. Maybe the sale rack will have something.

I'm going to yell at you every time you post that you bought something in this thread after you posted in the other thread that you needed the extra $1000 to pay for expenses.
5/17/2010 4:39:39 PM
my bank account has ~ $250 in it. pretty sure i need the $1000.(i walk far to school and it was monsooning today. that is why i thought about rainboots. been meaning to get them but i never wanted to spend $70 on real wellies. so i finally got some at target. i want dis dress. i have found a form of quasi retail therapy that doesn't hurt the wallet: WATCHING things on ebay. or just oging on a website and adding things to your cart. but you can't buy. that is cheating. haha.

5/18/2010 1:07:50 AM
brentroad.com is lame in comparison to thewolfweb.comCooler people frequent thewolfweb.com plus I hear that their forums are better over there.

i have a 5 p.m. church wedding/nice place reception (not a church...not a country club...but somewhere nice) at the end of June...I'm not buying a cocktail dress just for this wedding because...well...i'm just not...i can't justify it in any waywhat is appropriate?i was originally planning on wear this dress...with apple green heels and jewelry that matches...but i don't know if the bright color dress is appropriate anymore...since the wedding is in the evening...would a similar dress in black with the same shoes and similar jewelry be ok?[Edited on May 18, 2010 at 8:30 AM. You should wear a print dress at the wedding:http://www.hangerenvy.com/2010/05/q-what-to-wear-to-wedding-a-printed.html
5/18/2010 8:31:53 AM
the only other option i have is this strapless pink seersucker dress...^i don't really have one that i would wear to a wedding...and i'm NOT buying anythingit has to come from my closet
5/18/2010 8:38:40 AM
why don't you wear the one you wore to ours? that was nice
5/18/2010 8:52:10 AM
^^ I LOVE the seersucker dress. Wear it! It's the perfect dress for a wedding.[Edited on May 18, 2010 at 8:54 AM. Reason : .]
5/18/2010 8:52:58 AM
^^i very well may...i just wanted to wear something that i haven't worn a whole lot^it's an evening wedding though so i thought the pink was probably too bright
5/18/2010 9:04:22 AM
the shoes i wanted to wear with the blue dress are identical to these only an apple/lime green color...and the earrings have both the blue and green in the them and the necklace is just green....i could also get the shoes in a deep purple and wear them with a black dress or charcoal grey dress...with matching jewelry of course...i just don't know what to do....AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH(this is why i don't go to weddings....i don't know the rules )[Edited on May 18, 2010 at 10:01 AM. Reason : you can't tell in the pic but the shoes are made out of shiny fabric]
5/18/2010 9:59:52 AM
Old wisdom is that wearing a drab color is a disservice to the bride. 5 pm is still quite bright during the summer so stay away from the black. I kinda dig the pink, but you might want a little jacket if you don't want old people perving at you all night.
5/18/2010 10:29:00 AM
You could wear the blue dress and tone it down with your accessories.
5/18/2010 10:30:19 AM
^^the girl at work is telling me that 5 p.m. means black/white dress or cocktail but the fact that it's 5 p.m. in JUNE is what was throwing me off as well...the reception will probably be over before it ever gets dark...i would definitely get a shawl for the seersucker dress^i don't know if i can tone it down....my accessories brighten it up even more...haha
5/18/2010 10:35:39 AM
yeah. thats tricky.honestly, i think youll be fine with the pink one.but i don't know :-/
5/18/2010 10:38:14 AM
girl at work said the seersucker would work...my shoes are white to go with it though...but if i'm wearing the pink...those are the shoes that i'm wearing...and i'll get a white pashmina or somethinglike this[Edited on May 18, 2010 at 10:48 AM. I think with an evening wedding in the summer you can definitely get away with brighter colors. Weddings, even formal ones, are celebrations and bright colors are always welcome. The pink seersucker with a wrap would be pretty much perfect, imo.5pm functions are usually for black tie and cocktail dresses, but not really in the case of weddings. Black at a wedding is kind of meh and it disappoints me to see so many ladies wear black dresses to weddings. It used to be a sign that you disapproved of the marriage, and now it's just kind of boring.
5/18/2010 12:38:07 PM
^^^^ That dress could look cute with black accessories instead of the bright green ones.I like the searsucker best though! So cute!
5/18/2010 12:40:37 PM
damnit...pink pashmina at Cato for $6...blah....that's just too much pink with that dress....why couldn't it be a white onegirl at work seems to think that a white one isn't appropriate though since it's a wedding...GAH...SO HARD!!!
5/18/2010 1:13:53 PM
could you do a black pashmina with the pink dress?surely someone you know has one you could borrow!i have a really cute crop black cardigan thing that would go well with it but a) i'm not in raleigh and b) my boobs are like 1/18th the size of your so it probably wouldn't fit check target - that is where i got the crop cardigan. i wore it to a rehearsal dinner and i've gotten a lot of use out of it since. if you could justify spending like $10 or whatever on it. either way target might also have some "pashmina" wraps (fake ones obvi). oh and old navy has a lot of wraps too (or they usually do). both these places, though you're buying something, will be cheap!
5/18/2010 1:21:03 PM
yeah...the one i posted above is from target for $15...i was just sad that i found the other one for $6
5/18/2010 1:22:23 PM
damn 15. target wtf! why so pricey.booooo.
5/18/2010 1:23:23 PM

Lemme buy a purse off one of you ladies. I want something large, but structured. I know NCSUWolfy has posted one somewhere that I adored, and I've seen several in the polyvore thread that would work.
