yeah, saw thatit's some bullshit
12/6/2011 6:24:04 PM
Is anyone really surprised? The Nexus S 4G on Sprint is the only one that offers it out of the box without any hackery. Verizon claims they're working on making it available but who knows with all the carriers sans Sprint working with ISIS. And looks like Friday is a go.http://www.droid-life.com/2011/12/06/breaking-verizons-equipment-guide-updated-galaxy-nexus-release-date-of-december-9-is-official/User manualhttp://www.droid-life.com/2011/12/06/download-samsung-galaxy-nexus-user-guide-verizon/
12/6/2011 7:26:18 PM
Verizon is really downplaying this one out of spite"Yea we'll release your 'Google Experience' phone but we're not going to spend any of OUR money advertising for it!"
12/6/2011 7:38:17 PM
wonder if it's worth it to switch to Verizon for this. I'm sick of AT&T's horrible coverage, but I just dislike Verizon as a company. From what I can tell it's still not confirmed that there will be a AT&T 3g/4g version yet. I wonder if/how cyanogen would handle different versions. Just flash different radio firmwares?
12/6/2011 7:48:08 PM
You can already buy the GSM version and use an ATT SIM.
12/6/2011 7:51:48 PM
10 cent apps ftw
12/6/2011 7:55:03 PM
^yep, gonna be playin some Minecraft Pocket Edition tonight
12/6/2011 8:53:40 PM
Its the first app I've actually purchased
12/6/2011 9:26:01 PM
I got Minecraft, Soundhound, Sketchbook, Fieldrunners, Endomondo and Paper Camera. went a little overboard but its hard to pass up .10 apps
12/6/2011 9:27:35 PM
^I skipped soundhound, but the rest were all on my list too
12/6/2011 11:08:06 PM
I don't know how often I'll use soundhound but oh welledit: lol said same thing in previous post[Edited on December 7, 2011 at 12:03 AM. Reason : .]
12/7/2011 12:01:04 AM
^ i thought the same thing, but i use it way more than i ever thought i would
12/7/2011 7:51:59 AM
i bought it because fuck it, $0.10how is it any better than Shazam though?
12/7/2011 9:05:12 AM
i wouldn't know b/c i've never used it, but i've been really impressed with soundhound - it has identified some more obscure stuff with only the opening instrumental portions
12/7/2011 9:08:12 AM
I'd love to stock up on those apps for when I get an Android early next year (or even if I don't I'll waste what, $2?) but it won't let me buy them if there's no android phone associated with my google account
12/7/2011 10:49:35 AM
^kinda the same boat as you.i can buy most of the apps b/c I have a Droid, but it won't let me buy Asphalt 6 because it's incompatible with my phone (even though I'm buying a Galaxy Nexus & Transformer Prime in the next 2 weeks)Yeah, more confirmation for Friday.... nice to know my Radio Shack store is across the street from VZW.http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-verizon-stores-dec-9-droid-4-dec-8http://www.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus-arriving-select-radio-shack-stores-week-300-price-taghttp://www.androidcentral.com/best-buy-getting-its-galaxy-nexus-stock-starting-today-dont-tell-anyone[Edited on December 7, 2011 at 11:03 AM. http://www.droid-life.com/2011/12/07/galaxy-nexus-no-longer-launching-on-december-9/#more-55109lol. And here we go again.
12/7/2011 11:14:15 AM
I like that Paper Camera appdamn, that asphault racing game, you get the initial 6 mb download, then it makes you download another 524 MB when you open it [Edited on December 7, 2011 at 11:30 AM. Reason : ]
12/7/2011 11:15:37 AM
^^At this point I'd still buy it and just wait for an OTA update.... let's hope it's not truly SIM related.
12/7/2011 11:29:57 AM
damnSprints ETF on me is currently $180 (starts at $200...4-5 month waiting period, then goes down to $50 minimum). So it's gonna cost me to switch (plus the $200 for the Nexus) . Granted i've got the Evo 3D to sell but with single crack across the screen it's not gonna bring *that* much ]
12/7/2011 11:51:47 AM
I have 2 upgrades on my lines. I'm thinking about getting 2 iPhones and selling them with bad ESNs on ebay for 500/each.plus my evo3d[Edited on December 7, 2011 at 12:07 PM. Reason : ]
12/7/2011 12:07:40 PM
fyi, when I tried to install the asphalt racing game on my cm7 touchpad, it said the device wasn't compatibleeven though android market claimed it was compatible with "all my devices" (DX and touchpad)
12/7/2011 1:14:52 PM
^anyway to workaround this?
12/7/2011 1:19:41 PM
i didn't try any furtherit will install from the market, but after you open the app, like i said a few posts above it makes you download another half-gig of data, when it got to that point on the touchpad it gave the "device not supported/compatible" notif.
12/7/2011 1:21:00 PM
Pretty impressed by the list, here's the link for those interested in the $0.10 app deals:https://market.android.com/details?id=apps_timed_promotion&feature=banner
12/7/2011 1:51:28 PM
Woohoo new apps everyday for ten days? Hell yeah. Already own the beautiful weather one, it was well worth paying full price for.
12/7/2011 2:13:52 PM
^^^^Probably get a (trustworthy) friend of yours with a compatible device to add your Google account to their device then purchase it for you through their device. Or maybe once you've added your account to that device you can purchase it yourself via the website.
12/7/2011 2:23:45 PM
that Flick Golf game is fun as hell
12/7/2011 2:25:07 PM
Yea, keep checking back, new apps for 10 days. And as far as I can tell day 1 are still $0.10... not sure how long, I presume all 10 days? They just added the PLAY version of the Reckless Racing game that is for HD devices... I presume they meant tablets.^^I actually thought about going into Verizon, logging into a newer phone or tablet, buy the apps, then just remove my account when I'm done. So long as I make sure it doesn't save my password, I think it would be safe.
12/7/2011 2:30:22 PM
I guess I don't know what problem yall are talking aboutI was able to purchase and install the game just fine on the touchpad, but when I'm within the game/app it has a problem downloading the additional 500 MB
12/7/2011 2:32:38 PM
^^That's a really good idea. And actually for added security, change your password to something else (from your own device), do it, change your password back (from your own device).
12/7/2011 2:43:07 PM
^^If you have an incompatible device (for me the OG Droid) than it won't let you purchase the app.But I'm upgrading to 4.0/ICS with a new phone & tablet in the next 2 weeks and would like to purchase Asphalt 6 for those devices at $0.10 instead of full price, so I'm trying to figure out how to purchase it to keep it on my Google Account until I upgrade.
12/7/2011 2:50:58 PM
hehe this made my lol:http://androidphonenamegenerator.com/
12/7/2011 2:56:54 PM
Damn it google I want to buy these apps, let me give you my money.
12/7/2011 3:51:08 PM
Anyone else have 4G just crap out? Looks like Verizon may be having issues.
12/7/2011 3:56:08 PM
Anyone else getting this error when you purchase the apps?
12/7/2011 5:57:48 PM
Yeah for one app it did. But after that everything was smooth.I have a feeling this whole thing is really just a stress test for Google Wallet.
12/7/2011 5:59:07 PM
It just canceled all of my orders and now I can't order the apps from yesterday at the $0.10 price. Now I'm just pissed.[Edited on December 7, 2011 at 6:07 PM. Reason : /]
12/7/2011 6:07:31 PM
My 4G is not working either. Now I can't play BF3 tonight
12/7/2011 6:49:14 PM
Yeah, VZW's been having issues with their 4G all day.
12/7/2011 8:58:17 PM
Just had to order an extended battery for a phone I don't like anymoreever since I upgraded the android, battery life has been shit and yet there are still no more updates avalable. And I'm talking only 4-5 hours with only light to moderate use before it is completely dead
12/7/2011 8:58:31 PM
Yeah it cancelled 3 of mine before I had a chance to download them and I had to purchase them again and promptly downloaded them.
12/7/2011 9:15:10 PM
Anyone have a G2X? Do you have any complaints or anything that might dissuade me from getting one?
12/7/2011 9:20:51 PM
Wow, OnLive just launched for iOS and Android. Download it free from the market and you get Lego Batman free.It works pretty amazingly well. Granted the analog stick works pretty piss poor on a tablet screen, but that's not their fault. Can't wait to fool some folks at work with this tomorrow
12/8/2011 3:24:09 AM
ffffff i knew i should have brought my tablet in today
12/8/2011 7:58:04 AM
i've got the thunderbolt (not rooted) and i went to download the onlive app, but it needs gingerbread... i've been checking over the past month or so, but i've never been able to get the software update to show up... any ways to force the update that i should have by now?
12/8/2011 8:21:26 AM
Here you go: http://support.verizonwireless.com/system_update/thunderbolt.htmlThe carriers release the updates by phone. I don't know when the Thunderbolt was/is supposed to get GB, but I only received the GB OTA update for my Droid Charge on Saturday. Meanwhile, ICS is what's rolling out elsewhere.
