Yes. Us talking about this game and what it would take to go to the CFP(undefeated season and other teams losing) is really whats going to keep us from going undefeated.
10/10/2018 11:21:04 AM
Yup. I like when fans tell other fans to take it one game at a time. I’m not on the team. I can look ahead all I want.
10/10/2018 11:26:19 AM
to answer the question, though, I think if UCF went two years undefeated they'd have to let them into the CFP or there would be even more of a shit storm. Reminds me of Boise State a few years decade ago. If UCF were out of it, I'd still put WVU as having the tougher schedule, especially considering who they/we'd face in conference championships.Plus, NC State shit.[Edited on October 10, 2018 at 1:02 PM. Since 2010 only 5 teams have gone undefeated: TCU, Auburn 2010, tOSU 2012, FSU 2013 & UCF 2017.
10/10/2018 1:27:51 PM
UCF has a garbage schedule again this year.
10/10/2018 1:29:55 PM
^^ i think a more fair assessment would be ending the season (including conf titles) undefeated, before bowls/playoff. in 2016 alabama went into the CFP undefeated, but then lost to Clemson in the final. or 2014 FSU going undefeated before losing to Oregon in the CFP. so if you're trying to determine the likelihood of undefeated teams before the CFP, then that list is a little longer.[Edited on October 10, 2018 at 1:34 PM. I also didn’t have the desire to look it up. Which is why I was hoping you would.

I saw Colorado lost, how high will we soar in the polls???
10/14/2018 8:22:41 AM
I’ll guess 15.Oh and Wazzu is hosting gameday so that’s good
10/14/2018 8:29:45 AM
I could see us moving up about 3 spots. So maybe in the 16-18 range. Miami lost too, so that’s their second loss, we should be ahead of them. But it’s miami so...
10/14/2018 8:45:45 AM
Penn State lost, Wisconsin, Miami, Colorado, Washington, At least 4 of those should fall behind us if not all 5.Based on that I will say 14-16 ranking.[Edited on October 14, 2018 at 9:44 AM. Reason : )]
10/14/2018 9:44:37 AM
Penn State and Wisconsin won't fall behind us
10/14/2018 10:38:34 AM
We just got a shout-out on NFL Countdown while they were talking NY Giants - "The Giants need to watch Oregon or NC State to see where their next QB is coming from"

^^ very bad prediction

Clemson rises to the top. Can't believe this.

HOLY SHIT the rest of our schedule is shit. EVERYONE (except clempson obviously) we play is garbage. They're collectively 3-13 in conf. Not sure if that's good or bad.

> HOLY SHIT the rest of our schedule is shit. EVERYONE (except clempson obviously) we play is garbage. They're collectively 3-13 in conf. Not sure if that's good or bad.Bad for our computer rankings but if we somehow beat Clemson, it won't matter, because that win should catapult us well into the top 10 and from then on it's just a steady march into the playoffs if we kept taking care of business. There are still a LOT of games to be played for the other top 10 teams that are tough, trap games.
10/15/2018 4:25:07 PM
Just win and we’ll be fine.
10/15/2018 4:31:07 PM
I just noticed in the Heather Dinich "not all undefeated records are equal" article that she listed Clemson's toughest remaining game as @BC.
10/16/2018 12:10:21 AM
She's such a troll
10/16/2018 12:23:51 AM
lol speaking of which, in terms of making the playoff...for Clemson "Bottom line: An undefeated ACC champ would be in"for us "Bottom line: Even if NC State shocks Clemson and wins the ACC, it wouldn't be a lock"[Edited on October 16, 2018 at 12:29 AM. she’s not a troll, she should’ve just written “an undefeated Clemson wouldn’t be left out”and her editor should’ve caught thatso maybe her editor is a troll?(they’re not)
10/16/2018 1:28:21 AM
Oh fuck we got a Heather Dinich White Knight ITT Being a troll is a job requirement for a well-clicked sports journalist. This isn't ground breaking.[Edited on October 16, 2018 at 1:43 AM. Reason : Feel free to defend BC being Clemson's toughest game left while you're at it.]]
10/16/2018 1:42:37 AM
Ok: with Dillon, we arent that much better than BC and Clemson plays us at home
10/16/2018 7:13:42 AM
From Clemson perspective, definitely the toughest game is on the road, not at home. Syracuse challenged at Death Valley but failed, that makes Clemson more confident.
10/16/2018 8:59:23 AM
From Clemson's perspective, we are the BIGGEST game of their entire season. A&M is hanging around the rankings but who knows if they finish ranked or not given their schedule, but we're the only team they'll play this season while they're actually ranked. I'd argue that us going undefeated so far benefits Clemson just as much(if not more) than it does us. They won't be sleeping on this game. If anything this is the FSU game for them the few years where they know if they win this game they can go on cruise control and still win the ACC. Problem is this year they likely won't be able to afford dropping a random ACC game and still making the CFP. Plus they had 2 weeks to get prepped and hyped for this game. I expect the crowd to go nuts and you know both coaches are praying they win the coin toss and can score first.
10/16/2018 9:35:43 AM
Yes, it's homecoming week at Clemson. Alumni come from all over the country to go back home. The celebration already starts.[Edited on October 16, 2018 at 9:46 AM. Reason : pic]

it's such a big game that one thread isn't enough to contain the chatter
10/16/2018 12:19:45 PM
Both teams still have to play Florida State and we have to play Syracuse. FSU isn't who they used to be but that doesn't mean they won't put up a good fight (they only lost to Miami by 1). I'm not so sure the Clemson/NCSU game decides the division.
