Can’t beat Brighton but out here ripping up Milan. Might as well pull a United and say fuck it to the league..
3/8/2018 1:53:41 PM
Not trying to talk shit but the league is already over for you. We still had a chance at a top 4 finish until the last 3 or so matches. I think the arsenal away match is what made us prioritize Europa after. It is def Europa or nothing now for you guys. Ozil has been a class above today.

I know the attacking football savants here will disagree but clearest way to beat Liverpool is beat the press by going long. If Fellaini is fit I want to see him get the start in a midfield three with Matic and Pogba. Fellaini being the furthest forward. Matic the breaker on Liverpool's counters and Pogba the one dictating by pinging balls to Lukaku and Fellaini. Sanchez and Martial/Lingard can play off Lukaku and Fellaini with full backs providing width as necessary. The trouble here is Lukaku isn't great at hold up so Fellaini would have to do the job to bring the ball in and quickly lay it off. Let Liverpool have a majority of the possession but swift counters and long balls up to disrupt the press and we can score 2. I am going for a classic 1-0 but could easily backfire and end up 2-1 if our full backs aren't up for this against Mane and Salah. Personally would love to see Bailly start in defense with Young as well instead of Shaw. Bailly holds the key as he has the pace to keep up with Liverpool's quick forwards. Need tactical discipline in defense. Simple for Liverpool too. United's midfield doesn't handle the press well and if they congest the middle and United don't offer width then it will be a difficult day for United. Set the tone early and disrupt Pogba and they can be deadly. Liverpool certainly in much better form at the moment and will be confident of a result. I do hope Klopp chooses to open up and take the game to us. I think its our best chance of by passing the press to counter quickly. In all honesty I don't think Klopp will play an expansive game plan. He knows Mourinho will want him to do that but the key for Liverpool is setting the tone in midfield. United's defense hasn't been up to scratch with Lindelof and Smalling so disrupting Pogba and Matic and running at our center halves will be the key there.

^ good summary.tl;dr United needs to play like pussies to get a resultFUCK UNITED
3/10/2018 7:29:23 AM
fair play. dominating 1st half for United so far. Liverpool haven't looked this bad since Spurs in October
3/10/2018 8:11:20 AM
go ahead wazza you've earned it.Last 30 minutes of that game sucked so much ass. Just terribly frustrating. I'd almost rather lose 3-0 than watch that again.
3/10/2018 9:40:16 AM
Looks like things got a little wild at west ham today
3/10/2018 12:30:07 PM
We got lucky today. Palace got hosed on that disallowed goal.
3/10/2018 2:40:42 PM
Didn't love the refereeing or lovren but united just better todayWith some consistency, United prob could have challenged for first
3/10/2018 2:58:49 PM
Look I am not trying to talk shit but we basically did what I summarized above. If you honestly think we played like pussies for having a legitimate tactic to beat Livwrpool then all I have to say is I disagree. This was not a Bus parking. That said few thoughts:1. Trent is young and he has put in great performances before (against United even) but today Rashford took advantage. 2. Lukaku and McTominay made this possible for us. We played as team and Jose tactically was better. Bypassing Pools midfield was key but we need McTominay to continue breaking up the play and be smart with his forward passes (which he did) and Lukaku had to execute his hold up play in the final third. Side note: really impressed with lukaku this season. He tries and honestly that is the least we could ask for. Today he was unplayable for 45 min. 3. Salah. I don’t know how we negated him but there was a clear focus on ensuring Salah did not have space to operate today. He still had a chance at the end but credit to Young. I don’t think it helped that Mane didn’t have a good match to fee up Salah more because we clearly prioritized letting Mane have the ball over Salah. This brings me back to Trent. Liverpool should have created width by letting Salah drift inside and exploring the space created by the double team on Salah to play through Trent on the wing. Overall I think Jose got his tactics right but Liverpool were threatening. It was tactically a great matchup and much better than that Anfield draw.
3/10/2018 3:39:40 PM
Manchester United's centre-backs have scored more goals (2) against David De Gea than Liverpool's, Manchester City's, Tottenham's and Chelsea's forwards combined (1) this season
3/11/2018 1:31:41 AM
^^ lol I was serious about the "good summary" part before the game and the rest was me just being an asshole. You were right but it was also pretty obvious that was going to be the game plan which is why I don't understand why we weren't expecting the long ball over the top. TAA definitely showed his inexperience and Lovren is Lovren. All the focus post-game was on how they shut down Salah but I feel like it's overlooked how much they limited Firmino's influence. He's the reason everything works for us and why Salah usually gets so much space. I only remember a handful of times Firmino had the ball in a dangerous position. Mane had the ball a lot more than both Firmino/Salah because he was dropping back behind our midfielders to get it. Only when Lallana came in did the midfield have any kind of positive influence going forward. Not an excuse because LFC didn't deserve shit from the game but the refereeing definitely helped United out in the second half. Just inconsistent and constant stoppages. Excruciating to watch.
3/11/2018 10:23:18 AM
Boys Petr Cech just saved a penalty
3/11/2018 10:50:56 AM
hot damn that Vardy goal from yesterday
3/11/2018 11:42:51 AM
The refereeing was bad, I agree. I think Mane deserved the penalty but the hand ball would have been a tough call since I don't think Valencia was trying to play the ball and seems he is even trying to get his arm out of the way but you could argue it is a peno and we have seen those given before. The ref did call a lot of the fouls and I think in the second half Mourinho even instructed our forwards to go down with contact. Allowed our defense to breath and move up the pitch every time we got a call. The ref could have put a stop to that from the beginning but he constantly kept calling those fouls. Also not sure how Smalling escaped a yellow for bringing Salah down. Not gonna lie but if we get past Sevilla I don't want Liverpool again till at least the Semi's (if both of us make it there). Klopp and the players would be well up for it after that game.[Edited on March 11, 2018 at 1:49 PM. Reason : a]

one of the worst decisions was stopping play when firmino had the ball in an attacking position for a non-head injury. Somebody gets hit in the nuts, better stop play! Of course United gets to just boot it back to Karius.
3/11/2018 2:09:05 PM
^ I wondered about that myself and I think the ref thought it was a head injury. I would certainly be complaining about the decision to stop the play if the places were switched but I can also understand why he would. ^^ Vardy's shit talk after was hilarious. The man is such a chav but I would love nothing more than Vardy talking shit to the Russians at the World Cup.

Huge day for us. Haven't made the quarters since that Moyes season where we fluked it. That said I think this team has a lot of experience after last year's Europa and Mourinho will be ready for it. I would hate to go out on away goals but that is what we risked after the 0-0 in Sevilla. I think 3-1 should be achievable if our attackers show up and I hope Rashford gets the nod again after the weekend. Buzzing for a CL playoff night at Old Trafford though. If we can't get the job done today we don't deserve to be in the final 8.

At least we got knocked out by a legit team
3/13/2018 5:42:52 PM
What a shit show of a performance that. I don’t understand why Mourinho didn’t go with the same lineup as Liverpool. 100% on Mourinho. Amazing how much of a 180 that was from Saturday. Fellaini was mostly a passenger and frankly Pogba wasn’t much better. Didn’t deserve anything from that. Honestly if Mourinho insists on approaching CL matches like that against teams like Sevilla then he needs to do something different. Enjoy the loss. We deserved it.
3/13/2018 6:08:36 PM
why do Pogba and Mourinho seem to hate each other
3/13/2018 6:22:10 PM
I didn't realize Kane was out until May
3/13/2018 6:23:25 PM
^^ did you watch the game. Pogba was somehow as bad as Fellaini. I don't blame Mourinho for dropping him and he also did have a legit injury the last week. But wow Pogba needs to get it together. He is a shadow of himself.
3/13/2018 6:25:20 PM

3/13/2018 6:25:56 PM
ah ok, somebody just texted me about it so i didn't see where it was from. I actually didn't realize he was hurt at all though either
3/13/2018 6:44:12 PM
Honestly it didn't even look that bad. He just rolled it. He walked off and then was getting ready to come back in the match before the physio stopped him.Obviously could be wrong but I doubt it's serious.

A Vintage Mourinho CL performance. He has one trophy and 1 final in his CL history and that was over 10 years ago. Can't figure out what was worse Spurs Collapse or ManU shutting the bedMore than likely the PL will be down to Pool and Citeh in the CL though I hope Chelsea pulls the upset today.
3/14/2018 8:30:34 AM
Btw Ed Glazer is another great reason to root against United
3/14/2018 9:20:23 AM
We were the better team for the majority of both legs of our tie. We played our attacking game and really went after it against the finalists two of the last three years. Yes we got undone by some naivety on our part and savy play on Juve's end, but that's nowhere near as embarrassing as play for a draw at home against a team with a negative goal diff and 11 losses in la liga.[Edited on March 14, 2018 at 9:22 AM. Reason : Juve hadn't even been scored on in 2018 until we went to Turin]

Forgot about the Inter CL Trophy for Mourinho. Still while Mourinho has gotten to a number of CL finals its his MO to sit back and play his game. It works for the most part in England. Unfortunately year 2 is normally Mourinho's best season with his clubs based on history and it looks like its FA Cup or bust for silverware this year as it is for Chelsea and Spurs as well. Kane is out until April and will miss the game at the Bridge and may miss the Citeh game as well. Salah should be in the drivers seat for the Golden Boot unless he picks up an injury.
