another case of them eliminating the stuff like above re: jamie and his development.it happened in this episode (well, this and past ones) by having tyrion delivered directly to dani. he went through so much character development with penny.

Sooooo, is Sam even going to be going to Old Town now?
5/26/2015 9:49:24 AM
the only way I could see that happening would be if Jon decided to send him on his Maester journey now that Aemon is deadThis thread is going to be dead soon
5/26/2015 10:03:41 AM
Sam might go if he sees a generic threat to Gilly and/or himself. But im not sure how he gets out with direct orders from Lord Commander. It might be that Sams story in Old town simply doesn't matter and might be used as a way to shoe horn historical information at the reader. So they cut the journey out of the show and figure another way to get the info.
5/26/2015 11:09:43 AM
Sam has to get away from the Wall...unless Ghost is just going to chill by his side until Jon comes back.Oh...and as bad as the Sand Snakes have been...those tits were on point.[Edited on May 26, 2015 at 11:18 AM. Reason : .]

"Don't worry, Jon always comes back."ohh shit, pretty close to confirmation of his resurrection right?
6/1/2015 12:05:47 PM
kinda like "don't worry, kneel and confess your crime and the king will let you live out your life on the night's watch"
6/1/2015 4:53:07 PM
given what just happened at hardholme, i have no idea how they can justify the watch turning on jon. it's not like he was the only brother there. ollie is clearly going to be involved.
6/1/2015 9:47:23 PM
Part of me thought it was possible to get Jon with the walkers vs Dany and her dragons. But given that they are being portrayed as pyre evil, it will never happen.
6/1/2015 10:11:58 PM
There were a lot of theories about Jon or Stannis eventually becoming the leader of the zombie army, but it looks like that job's taken lol.
6/2/2015 9:20:43 AM
How popular were those theories?? Those just sound really "out there".Regardless...that episode was pretty awesome. A lot of shit has been talked about the show-makers...but that battle scene was pretty epic. My only complaint was that maybe the wights were a little too "walking dead-ish"...but I can't remember how they were described in the books, so I don't know if that argument is even valid.I love Tyrion and Dany together...but that was way too easy for Tyrion. I know he's smooth, but that was a little ridiculous. Also thought she should have said she was going to "burn the wheel" and not break it...ya know..being the mother of dragons and all.
6/2/2015 9:26:23 AM
Anyone remember how the hardhome scene in the books is described? I seem to remember some mention of 'dead things.' When I read it, I got the impression that it was more than just undead men. There were 'things'
6/2/2015 9:33:03 AM
^^Variations of theories on Stannis or Jon becoming the "Night's King" (remember, this is before we knew he was evil incarnate) were fairly popular. The Stannis one made the most narrative sense, given what we know about the character from the books. It went something like after a crushing defeat at Winterfell, he and his army limp back to the Wall where he is somehow presented with an opportunity to lead the army of the dead, as his only recourse to becoming King of Westeros.
6/2/2015 9:52:32 AM
^^ In the post-episode discussion with the show creators, they made it sound like it didn't go into much detail in the book. Just that, "shit-happened" so to speak. I've slowly come to realize that I've forgotten pretty much everything in the books.
6/2/2015 10:06:48 AM
Yeah, I have terrible memory of all books I've read. Sadly when I try to read them again THEN it all comes back.I mean, I remember the major story lines (Cersie getting imprisoned, going to Hardhome, etc.) but certain characters getting killed or other things slip my mind.
6/2/2015 10:15:17 AM
It was 'Dead things in the water'That also parallels with, the seemingly useless, PatchFace chapters when he goes on these creepy rants about what he saw down at the bottom of the ocean when he was held down for 'days'. Theory goes that the walkers are not just north of the wall but there is something at the bottom of the oceans too. Whether or not they can make it on land is another thing. In the whole lava/fire/dragons vs cold/walker/whites/DeadThingsInTheWater or whatever, there would be volcanic activity at the bottom of the ocean. So this entire struggle might not be contained to only land.I still don't know if we will actually be told where this all comes from. I don't see a plot device to get information. Unless Sam finds something in Old-town that tells him what its all about.
6/2/2015 10:54:08 AM
^^It's ok, the Game of Thrones books are complete shit
6/2/2015 11:00:56 AM
The amount of butthurt coming after Jon Snow's death is going to be epic.
6/3/2015 9:11:03 AM
This was the comment I got after suggesting that Jon was "it" for the next episode:
6/3/2015 11:14:32 AM
don't worry, Olly. Jon always comes back.
6/3/2015 11:39:04 AM
Video taped reactions coming
6/3/2015 11:39:37 AM
I really don't think Jon will die in the show.
6/3/2015 11:45:15 AM
You mean you don't think he'll die and come back, or just die? Because I don't think anyone thinks he's really going to die because everyone think he'll be one of the last one lefts because of R+L=J.But they're foreshadowing the fuck out of Olly killing him (if not Olly himself, he'll probably help some Nights Watch dudes kill him). It will just be interesting to see if they just end the season with him being stabbed and laying there like in the books...or if they go ahead and take that next step that Martin hasn't taken yet, and have him warg, be brought back by Melisandre...or just not die all together and just be in really bad shape.
6/3/2015 11:50:48 AM
Melisandre didn't stay behind in the show, so I doubt she returns from Stanis' army to bring him back to lifeThey've barely touch wargs, minus Bran who hasn't been in this season, so I don't think that's an optionSure, they foreshadowed a lot with Olly, but I don't see that making a huge difference. I just don't think they'll kill him at all.
6/3/2015 11:58:24 AM
Granted, while it has yet to happen in the books, Jon didn't just have an epic stare down with the show's biggest baddie to then go the way of Jeor Mormont. GRRM's killings aren't random, and the real main characters of the show/books have been fairly safe from mortal harm. Ned may have been a main character of AGoT, but not ASoIaF. Even if he does get stabbed "to death", they've established more ways to revive people than Marvel at this point.[Edited on June 3, 2015 at 12:41 PM. Reason : .]

6/3/2015 12:54:50 PM
Or is it possible that for this episode 9, rather than kill someone big off, what if they brought someone big back? Like Mance or...Stoneheart?
6/3/2015 1:10:07 PM
They need to end with a WTF moment and begin the next season with one. There are too many right now in the books not to.John's DeathJohn's Warg/Resurrection (potentially)DrogonKevin LanisterSansa/ReekManceLady StoneheartWe still dont know if Stonehearts existence is important, she may never get mentioned in the show. Same thing with Mance.Lets say they kill Jon for the last episode. I assume hes going to be brought back for reasons mentioned above. If he wargs out, or is simply resurrected, will it happen immediately. If there is a delay in resurrection, does he come back the same? Could he be corrupted? If he gets resurrected by the Nights King, does he come back intelligent due to his blood and be the champion of the Others? So many possibilities.
6/3/2015 1:35:00 PM
I forgot about Drogon. They are really forcing Jorah wanting to continue fighting in the pits.Could be that during his fight, Drogon makes his appearance and burns him to a crisp.
6/3/2015 1:36:23 PM
I'm pretty sure Drogon showing up at the fighting pits was shown in pretty much every trailer for this season, before the season started, so we are definitely going to see that within the next 2 episodes. I didn't think they would be able to get to it, but now I'm thinking we are going to see Jon stabbed as well, and I think that would be a great place to end the season.
6/3/2015 2:03:03 PM
Has GoT ended on a cliffhanger that literally picks up right where it leaves off?
6/3/2015 2:09:13 PM
Never going to end in a cliffhanger, this show is too good and doesn't need cheesy cliffhangers to bring the audience back.Jon Snow is dead this week, there is no way around it.
6/3/2015 2:47:21 PM
Whatever happens in the show, I guarantee the people who haven't read the books are gonna be pissed. I'm sure there will be a number of "I'm not watching this show anymore" like there was after the Red Wedding. Also, did Dany mention that Drogon is missing yet in the show? When he shows up in the pits, he had been gone for like a month or two, right?
6/3/2015 2:47:41 PM
No they haven't mentioned him being missing, but Tyrion saw him flying free not too long ago.
6/3/2015 3:03:17 PM
They've kinda implied that he's not around several times, because there's only two dragons chained in the crypt.
6/3/2015 3:13:25 PM
Dany has specifically said he wasn't around, that's why she was so surprised when she saw him earlier this season
6/3/2015 3:26:11 PM
6/3/2015 3:31:52 PM
^ 3 seconds later,Enter Drogon,Torrent of flame and kills everyone in that scene except Dany. Tyrion isnt there so all other characters are sacrifice. Tyrion meets up with her later. There isnt a way out of whats shown in the picture. You simplify the story line. You eclipse all other death scenes. And we get John getting stabbed in either same episode or finale.Hahahah, how the internet would shit itself. It wont happen unfortunately.
6/3/2015 4:10:22 PM
They all land...not just Drogon. Because he busted the other two out of dragon jail earlier in the episode in a throwback to Oceans 11 or something. Dany gets on one, while Jorah and Missandei get on the other two. Then they torch the place and take off in formation. Jorah peels off in a missing man formation to save Dany from witnessing him decline due to greyscale.Dany looks at the camera longingly as he flies away to the east and unknown lands and says "goodbye my love." she turns to Missandei and says"Jorah was alwaysQuite the Explorah"YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH/rollcredits[Edited on June 3, 2015 at 4:24 PM. ^^ 1 small scene from the entire season, is going to make everyone know that her dragon is rogue. She has the two "tamer" dragons on chains that she can't even control. Drogon has already burned a child alive, she doesn't even know where the fuck he is, and he made a brief appearance this season only to fly away again.I'm sure show viewers think Dany has him on strict voice command...
6/3/2015 4:41:27 PM
Whatever, when people start calling out the plot holes I'll come back and say I told you so. Actually what will happen is they will spend the entire opening showing that the dragon is missing, that it killed a kid, that she chained them up so everyone knows whats coming next. We shall find out on Sunday whom is right. Title for this week "The Dance of Dragons" so her rogue dragon will come back and eat Jorah. Jon snow should also go ahead and die this week, so they can spend the last episode advancing Arya. [Edited on June 3, 2015 at 4:56 PM. Reason : ,]
6/3/2015 4:49:03 PM
a missing dragon is not a plot hole.
6/3/2015 4:55:29 PM
It is when its reappearance is the main event in a episode a year later.
