Quest in Windhelm where you investigate the murder is glitched, I think. My current task to talk to the dude in the dude in the castle, but doing so doesn't advance the quest. And the two tasks before that in the menu are shown as incomplete.[Edited on November 20, 2011 at 8:22 PM. Reason : UESP lists 10 "confirmed bugs" for the quest...]

Just got my guy decked in legendary dragon bone armor and my follower in legendary ebony. Going to go about collecting daedra hearts to get him a set of that
11/20/2011 9:48:24 PM
So Daedra hearts are used in crafting armor too?
11/20/2011 10:29:08 PM
I need to read up on crafting armorI don't know how to make shitRunning around looking broke as hell
11/20/2011 10:52:00 PM
^^ yeah daedra hearts are used to craft the daedric armor (along with ebony ingots), but thankfully to improve it it only costs ebony ingots.Protip ( ) If you can get your hands on gloves that improve armor smithing (I have some that do 17%) and then take a smithing potion (another 30%) you can improve weapons/armors crazy like.My legendary dragon plate armor is 184. Cant wait to see what the combo does on the daedric.
11/20/2011 11:27:07 PM
man, you all have been playing this shit out of this... my guy sucks ass still.

beat the main quest today, it was mostly faceroll at level 30.The quest involving the huge crawl through alftand and blackreach was amazingly awesome.

I just finished the Dark Brotherhood main quest:SPOILER ALERT:Probably the most fun ive had in the game to date. I literally left no one alive on that ship while taking 0 damage. In the lower decks i used stealthyness/daggers and the throw voice shout to kill everything. After killing the emperor(with a 3rd person throat slash) i used the shadow power from the the thieves guild to massacre the top deck with a whole bunch more throat slashes. I kinda wish i had made a video of it but i dont have any software for that./Spoiler[Edited on November 21, 2011 at 2:11 AM. Reason : better spoiler tags]

Markarth update: they are cool with you after the whole break out of prison thing. Go back in and do quests and buy a house n shit. Get that Thane-ness!Can you be made Thane of every hold? Is there an achievement for this or for owning a house in every hold?Additionally, where are you people getting Ebony ingots/ore?
11/21/2011 7:22:54 AM
^^^, on my Breton assassin, I went with the "kill the target without anyone else on the ship even knowing you're there" tactic. It was badass. Now I'm also playing an Altmer Arch-Mage and just blow everything up that moves. During one of the thousand "attack this fort" missions for Liberate Skyrim, they were like "you need to sneak in there, release the prisoners so they can help you take the fort.." LOL. Right in the front door, lightning bolts blazin.God damn I love this game.
11/21/2011 8:57:28 AM
So I've been playing a shit ton of MW3 and I've got skyrim. I plan on tackling it soon. What's the most face roll race/class to roll. I just want to see the game, I don't really care how I do it. As quickly as possible is best.

^^1h/shield or 2h? I've heard alot about people saying you definitely need to use magic. So mage tank like or straight brutal melee?
11/21/2011 9:21:22 AM
i've been rocking 1h sword with heavy armor/shield -- only magic i really use is healing
11/21/2011 9:22:55 AM

Speaking of forts, I found one that had a ton of Fire and Ice Mage Adepts in it. I can take the ice mages no problem (Nord)...the Fire mages one shot me. Tried a lot of times to kill some in the fort, but when I had to take out two at once, there was no chance. I even went as far as resurrecting some of the mages I killed previous and still stood no chance. Is the Shield Power Bash perk worth it? I still need to get high enough that I can get the 50% resist magic perk when blocking, but that requires a lot higher block than I currently have.
11/21/2011 9:42:02 AM
I could never decide if Morokei was just broken or intentionally difficult. Apparently the official strategy to beating him is to fuck with his pathing AI by hiding behind rocks and baiting his lightning bolt while he runs around confused.I said FUCK DAT, dropped it to EZ mode and FUS DO RAH'D him into the pond and broke his skull with an axe
11/21/2011 9:47:46 AM
I got it, it's fun to use, especially against dragons, but it eats up a ton of stamina. a nice way to get block up fast is when you're fighting a dragon or giant, just sit there and take hits while blocking.
11/21/2011 9:52:27 AM
Leveling blocking doesn't seem too bad. I occasionally block to get skillupsFind a Fire resistance shield/other things and carry a few FR potions around. I have a 40% FR boots and 20% magic shield, and am a Breton, and only shock misses me up right now. That and arrows. Some NPCs with swords do shit to me but their archers somehow one-shot me. Destruction is okay. You absolutely need Impact. There's some boss mobs that it sucks with (found some shade that had a billion hp) but I'm really liking Fireball. Hurling 4 Fireballs at most outdoor mobs is pretty fun.Is there an easy way to skillup Enchanting? My Blacksmithing is almost 100..apparently you can make Leather Bracers forever and sell them. Improving Elven/Glass armor also seems like a disgusting profit.

Yeah, it's solid. Fully upgraded Unrelenting Force is great though. And of course, Dragonrend.
11/21/2011 11:16:54 AM
I just killed two giants and three mammoths with just my sword. No potions, no magic, no arrows, no nothing. I don't think I've ever felt so in my life.
11/21/2011 1:05:34 PM
Yeah, swords are king for two-handed. I'm loving my battle mage, except I might ditch destruction and do conjuration instead.
11/21/2011 1:13:37 PM
I love using unreleting force to blast people off cliffs and bridges.^ I'm doing kind of a spell sword Breton right now, major skills are conjuration, alteration, 1 handed, restoration, and enchanting. Using a bound sword, mage armor spells, summons, and has a couple staves if he ever needs destruction. Also the Sanguine Rose staff is sweet.[Edited on November 21, 2011 at 1:21 PM. Reason : ]

How are you guys doing with MAIN QUEST progression? I think i'm something like 35+ hours in and I just started the 1st quest in Solitude...
11/21/2011 2:19:32 PM
The greybears are far away from all the side quests, sooooo yeah. Starting Winterhold now. Whiterun Companions are still crapping quests on me :/

40 hours and havent returned the horn. i get distracted and wander

11/21/2011 2:43:25 PM
I'm not certain there's a single (offensive) perk tree that sucks once you get deep enough in.
11/21/2011 2:45:25 PM
Im sticking with maces for 1 hand since they seem to have the higher top end damage and it never gets old seeing enemies decapitated by a blunt object
11/21/2011 2:49:53 PM
Whats the best one hander to perk up in...swords, maces or axes?I know each has its pluses and minus, but what has the most badass endgame weapons?[Edited on November 21, 2011 at 2:52 PM. Reason : Also, I dual wield alot]
11/21/2011 2:50:20 PM
I love swords because they apply to all situations, giving you 30% extra chance to crit. Top that off with the running power attack, you have a huge chance to crit on a mage, which is my biggest problem in most fights. Since mages don't usually have tons of armor, I bank on the crit instant death.
11/21/2011 2:56:25 PM
^^ Dragonbane is a sick sword and is easy to get. It deals some shock damage on hit, and extra damage against dragons. You can even blacksmith improve it to around 61 damage (40% blacksmith bonus potion), so it's nearly on par with daedric swords.
11/21/2011 3:19:48 PM
i'm using dragonbane, too
11/21/2011 3:35:10 PM
Where ya get that sword? I'm like 40 hours in and have only been to the Greybeards as far as main progression. I just keep getting side-tracked on other quests. I'm level 26 with max BS and 70-some enchanting. I made 2 pieces of Daedra armor last night. Found one heart on a alchemist vendor (apparently all of them have a chance to have one if you are lvl 25+). Then I stole one from the Companions headquarters. The room at the end of the hall downstairs has one on a table.I picked this game up on my week off last week. Bad move. Was supposed to do stuff around the house and played this all week instead.
11/21/2011 3:41:07 PM
^ Thanks to the back problems I am having, I am unable to go to work and am on Norco and unable to drive and the only relief I get (besides sleeping) is sitting on my game chair......in front of the TV...I think I have about 25 quests in my inventory. I've finally made a Legendary set of Dragonscale armor, am the Harbinger of the Companions, and have yet to start the main Horn of the Mountain quest. My goal right now is to clear the quests (the Misc ones and the ones that don't involve me joining any faction ATT) and do the Horn quest. After that, I'll probably descend into the inevitable pick-up-a-quest-by-blinking pattern again.
11/21/2011 4:37:56 PM
^Good luck...better not talk to anyone at all then So many quests start off with two people arguing with each other, then you talk to them and they're all "Maybe you can help???"Then I'm all "fffffffffffffffffUuuuuuuuu"I just ended up not accepting them anymore
