I think indy was saying that the list with the exclusion of the last entry was objectively accurate.

What's a good term for people who believe that a particular religion is the embodiment of terrorism?

Pretty much every religion?
8/19/2010 2:33:23 PM
yeah. what do you call those people? I should clarify and add murderous tool bags.

The founder of the mosque is currently on a trip to the middle east, sponsored by the State Dept, to promote religious tolerance. He is, in fact, doing exactly that: telling muslims to stop being terrorist dicks, and America is super cool.

^^^Level headed people don't associate the whole of a religion with the acts of it's desperate minority. Technically, the majority of attacks (not taking into account the size of each attack) that occur in this country come from radical Christians.oops, used another fact.[Edited on August 19, 2010 at 2:47 PM. I have no problem at all with a mosque being built in that location. I do have a problem with people making it an issue based on nothing more than that, and also a problem with the means by which they seek to stop it.That said, I also have a problem with some of the rhetoric spouted by the cleric of this mosque, and the fact that it's 2 blocks from the WTC site only aggravates that.
8/19/2010 6:48:50 PM
You know, I'm all for debating, but the fact that this is still an issue - and getting hours of attention on network television - is fucking pathetic. There are more important things going on in the world right now. This is being used as a distraction.
8/19/2010 8:43:22 PM
very true. this debate is tired and very cut and dry. if the builders want to build, fine.

Yeah that sounds like a great reason to downplay the dangerous xenophobia and racism our country is currently exhibiting
8/20/2010 11:47:27 AM
Dangerous? Come on bro.I'm much more concerned at the incessant media pump and the glazing over of other problems (BP, for instance) going on than stupid people.
8/20/2010 11:55:31 AM
I'm not trying to downplay shit. But your statements are just obvious:"idiot conservatives think that all terrorists are muslim" What does this add to the conversation? Is anyone in this thread agreeing with this statement?

I'm sorely disappointed that forth-coming Mosques all over the country are also encountering resistance now. It's like people just realized that mosques existed in this country; all-of-a-sudden our anglo-christian paradise is under attack.Edit: ^^ If you were making that point, then you wouldn't have described the mosque as being "in poor taste". Also, I pointed out that christian terrorist attacks "in this country" outnumber muslim ones. Anti-abortion incidents alone establish that.[Edited on August 20, 2010 at 3:09 PM. Reason : .]

There have been at least a dozen involving arson, bomings, and/or murder. Just google or wiki anti-abortion violence. It's been on the news enough throughout the past two decades to be common knowledge. The proportion of Muslims to Christians in America doesn't matter since the vast majority of islamic terrorism that occurs in the USA is not home grown.
8/20/2010 4:52:24 PM
I like where this thread is going. It's like a race between Islam and Christianity to see who sucks the most.
8/20/2010 4:54:50 PM
You shouldn't. I mean, if this is a race between a global mass movement of Islamist imperialism and a dozen or so deranged anti-abortionists, then there's really no race at all; all you've really got is a half-baked attempt to change the subject.
