South Carolina picks up their first win of the season tonight against Florida Atlantic. SC was able to score at will against the Owls winning 45-20. Coach Spurrier praised his teams work ethic in practice this past week saying, "We had a tough loss down in Athens last week, but this team played hard today and worked hard all week. Hopefully we can turn our season around with this win." Stephen Garcia was efficient passing the ball going 9-18 with 216 yards and 3 TDs. Eric Baker had nearly 100 yards on the ground on 15 attempts Jarvis Giles was surprising in his 1 quarter of play taking over for Baker. Giles had a couple big runs including one big one on 3rd down and long. SC WR Joe Hills had another stellar game with 125 yards recieving including the play of the game. http://beta.easports.com/media/play/video/7851045Next week South Carolina hosts Ole Miss in another SEC conference game. The game will be played in primetime, the first primetime game for the Cocks this year.[Edited on July 25, 2009 at 8:30 PM. Reason : 700]

Yawn.Third kickoff return for a TD this game. 4th in 2 games.[Edited on July 25, 2009 at 8:33 PM. Reason : the 400 yards of passing i've given up in 2+ quarters is keeping it close.]
7/25/2009 8:33:11 PM
i think the difficulty is fine. it gives you the opportunity to play defense and challenges you not to make mistakes both CPU and user side. Special Teams Wins Championships.
7/25/2009 8:35:36 PM
There's been a lot of big numbers put up on the ground and punt/kick returns going for a TD. I think run blocking also controls the special teams blocking so that may need to be adjusted some.
7/25/2009 8:36:27 PM
True. but i also havent thrown more than 10 passes in two games so im not sure how everything is working
7/25/2009 8:38:51 PM
yep, I would be agreeable to CPU run defense going up 5 points
7/25/2009 8:45:10 PM
FINALGeorgia 56Arkansas 44Ryan Mallett was the player of the game in a losing effort, finishing 25-34 with 500 yards passing and 5 TDs.
7/25/2009 8:48:52 PM
Interestingly I have still had issues in run blocking much of the time, save later in the game vs weaker opponents.
7/25/2009 10:49:15 PM
you are all having some fucking crazy games... most of mine have been pretty tight defensive games... are you using aggressive all the time on both sides of the ball or something?
7/26/2009 12:05:56 AM
I have just been using normal most of the game. If I get behind or am nursing a lead may go aggressive or conservative.
7/26/2009 9:21:45 AM
I typically don't screw with them too much. I do conservative on passing though cause my reciecera suck at catching.
7/26/2009 9:33:03 AM
The user vs user games have been somewhat close so probably need to increase things a notch.
7/26/2009 10:35:52 AM
just dont change anything until after this week I am going to need all the help I can get to take down the gators

Lets see some more recaps people...lots of you are just playing the games and not posting here. The twenty third ranked Clemson Tigers Stay unbeaten by winning a 45-35 shootout over Boston College. Their Pass Defense was like Swiss Cheese, giving up over 300 yards and 5 TD's. Their own passing game was almost non existant, with Willy Korn only completing 5 passed for 48 yards. The game was rapid fire in the first half, with BC holding a 35-28 lead at the break as QB Davis was lighting up the Clemson secondary. "Just couldn't stop him in that first half " Dabo Swinney said after the game. "We had no answer". In the second half, the Tiger D regrouped and shutdown the Eagles air attack. They relied on a mix of Spiller and Harper to take the lead and control the clock on their way to a 3-0 start.ClemsonKorn - 5 of 10 for 48 yardsSpiller - 17 carries for 132 and a kickoff return TDHarper - 10 for 90, 3 TDsFord - 4 for 127, 1 TD, 4 catches for 38 yardsJenkins - 6 Tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sackBCDavis - 15 for 30, 317 yards, 5 TDHarris - 22 carries for 100 yards, 5 catches for 106, TDGunnel, 5 for 76, TDMcMichael - 2 for 83, TDThe Tigers travel to Knoxville next week to take on the Volunteers in an all Orange battle.
7/26/2009 1:37:07 PM
i don't plan on buying this game this year, but it looks like offense is just insanely easy this year? every game i've seen is like 40+ - 30+
7/26/2009 1:39:53 PM
eh, I think thats just the sliders set we're using. i think for the next week we need to adjust the CPU ints up too (+5 points), if I throw the ball directly to the safety he should pick it off, right now he'll more than likely drop it.

FSU will be knocking out its game against #19 BYU tonight. I've been out of town, but I'll be back late this evening!

whoa whoa whoa... I am NOT 1-1 i beat western KY and UCLA.....thank god... i was about to be pissed if the EA system fucked games up... its one thing to get the score wrong its another to change the W/L outcome[Edited on July 26, 2009 at 6:19 PM. Reason : shew]
7/26/2009 6:05:46 PM
bad news, it does look like it simulated your game. I looked back and it showed UCLA won 10-3. wtf. on a brighter note, Tenn beat florida 26-23 in OT of my offline dynasty.
7/26/2009 6:28:38 PM
is there nothing that can be done to fix this shit?
7/26/2009 6:51:48 PM
Not now. We need to make sure saved copies of each week exist before advancing. We need to be able to go back if. It fucks up a W or L
7/26/2009 7:08:12 PM
i guess this is all the more reason to beat the living piss out of florida.... maybe ill be able to break tebows legs or something
7/26/2009 7:11:56 PM
not sure. it seems that it only happened in week 2 so maybe it's over (granted we're only on week 3). Before I advanced the week, it showed that no games were left to play, not sure what happened. From now on, I'll check and make sure the scores showing up are correct.
7/26/2009 7:13:29 PM
ok so fuck this shit....not only am i charged with a loss and now have my recruiting nuked...(had like 6 guys visiting)but now crompton (my starting QB) is out for the season with a broken something or other in his back
7/26/2009 7:30:44 PM
Maybe we should let the season play out before tinkering on sliders. That way it at least evens out for everybody. I agree they should probably be looked at after the season, but we still only have 3 weeks of data. More importantly, someone could end up getting disproportionately affected by getting different sliders for common opponents.
7/26/2009 7:35:06 PM
^agree
7/26/2009 7:41:49 PM
yeah, I'm not going to change them yet since the level of competition hasn't really been that great so the stats are going to be inflated. But it does seem a little too easy to run and return kicks (although I haven't come close to returning one in OD); FIU's dline shouldn't be destroying my oline and their receivers shouldn't be shredding my defense. Players(user and cpu)are also getting hit in the hands and not intercepting the ball, which it seems that isn't necessarily an issue with some of you. [Edited on July 26, 2009 at 7:46 PM. Reason : ]

looks like tenn and florida are in a shootout, 31-31 going into the 3rd. And I vote we give him 2 chances to beat florida since EA screwed him in his last game.[Edited on July 26, 2009 at 8:12 PM. Reason : ]

please to throw game out...ill play it tomorrow morning
7/26/2009 9:01:30 PM
k. game results are gone. should be able to replay it again
7/26/2009 9:05:41 PM
have to say though... i cant believe that i was in it till the 2nd overtime?? and yes crompton going out may be the best thing to happen out of the whole thing... backup is like russell wilson jr
7/26/2009 9:07:18 PM
had a good game vs arkansas with the run block sliders dropped. Apparently anything over 50 makes it too easy to return kicks and ours is set on 55. Dropped it to 45 and had a decent running game but no long runs. Every fucking time I'd break off a long one, it'd get called back for clipping. Ended up winning 13-10 in OT after an int to seal it. Thought I was gonna lose since I was playing around with a new offensive playbook but got lucky at the end.

FSU easily handed #19 BYU its first loss of the season, 57-3. BYU started out well on its opening drive, completing its first four passes of the game, but once FSU switched from a zone to a man defense early in the first quarter, the Cougars struggled with the speed of the Seminoles defense for the rest of the game. A balanced passing and rushing attack against a very weak (C+ rated) Cougar defense gave the Seminoles a 31-3 halftime lead. From there, FSU would run the clock and allow its second string offense and defense to play the entire fourth quarter. The win moves the Seminoles to 2-0 on the season and it will return home to face off against South Florida next weekend.BYUQB Max Hall - 16-of-30, 171 yards, 0 TD, 2 INTRB Harvey Unga - 17 carries, 37 yardsWR Brett Thompson - 3 receptions, 57 yardsFSUQB Christian Ponder - 10-of-11, 131 yards, 0 TD, 0 INTQB EJ Manuel - 3-of-3, 25 yards, 0 TD, 0 INTRB Jermaine Thomas - 19 carries, 101 yards, 1 TDRB Chris Thompson - 10 carries, 86 yards, 2 TDFB Marcus Sims - 3 carries, 12 yards, 2 TDWR Rod Owens - 4 receptions, 47 yards

wait... so stuff that has happened in the league is being changed by the game/server? are we able to go back and use what really happened? If not, we really need to wait until it gets fixed or hell, even start over once its stable... its going to totally fuck recruiting, bowl games, rankings everything even if we remember what really happened in that game...^ 57??? jesus christ... yeah, maybe sliders do need to be moved up or something, and you only passed 11 times? wtf80-7?91-23?Come on now... thats just retarded. How is that even fun?[Edited on July 27, 2009 at 1:42 AM. Reason : d]
7/27/2009 1:28:55 AM
no, it looks like specific games ended up being simulated rather than using the results from the user played game. it looks like it was only two games in the last week, right now it is an isolated incident, if it happens again we will need to discuss
7/27/2009 1:39:53 AM
^In all fairness, it was Temple, and their only decent player got injured. I'm curious to see how the Pitt game goes as a better barometer.
7/27/2009 6:08:40 AM
damn, were there any kick/punt returns for TD or pick 6's? Those stats aren't really that high
7/27/2009 7:25:13 AM
I agree, Jaybee. I think we need to go up a level. Yeah, we will lose some games by going up to Heisman, but that's the point right? You don't want to win every game (especially with some of the scores we've posted), because that really doesn't make it as fun. With that said, I don't know how I feel about making a change midseason. For my game, I ended up returning one kickoff for a TD (the very first kickoff against the CPU this year), I think one punt for a touchdown and one interception for a score. It could have been a lot worse than 57-3. I ran the clock the whole second half.
7/27/2009 8:19:08 AM
Last year AA was too easyThis year we were going to do Heisman, but everyone got their ass kicked on Heisman in preseason and so we stayed at AANow AA is too easy, lets go up to Heisman.......................................................Heisman isn't just more difficult, the game cheats... the producers aren't capable of making the AI play better and smarter, so they make them faster and give them advanced knowledge of what play the user called. The producers have openly admitted this. So while yes, it is harder to win on Heisman and it would surely produce more human losses, I don't think it would be more any realistic or fun. I'm open to trying it, but I'd wait till the offseason of Year 1.
7/27/2009 8:50:40 AM
There are all sorts of sliders that are posted on the NCAA '10 forum. We could just do some research and try to see which sliders have created the best and most realistic game play. A lot of people seem really pleased with them...
7/27/2009 9:10:25 AM
Yeah I agree with changing them...but not til the offseason. That would be unfair to teams and counter productive. I think we should do the research and try and find sliders that have been working for others

UT traveled to the swamp with vengeance on their minds after the week 2 EA sports blunder. The second Florida takes the field the Tennessee defense immediatly had a collective sigh of relieve as they realize that Tim "Jesus" Tebow is out of the game with back spasms. On the first Offensive play of the game Eric Berry sniffs out the run and pops the ball loose for Revierz to record a scoop and score (27 yards) 15 seconds into the game. A defensive battle ensued for much of the rest of the first half leading UT to a 17-0 lead going into the locker room. Florida comes out firing in the second half... Tebow must have touched the backup and given him some special powers as he is able to lead the gators to their first first down and on back to back scoring drives. The play of the game came with under 2 minutes left in the game. Hardesty runs the ball hard up the middle in an attempt to bleed the clock. all star linebacker for florida pops the ball from his hands and onto the ground.... this is where the magic happens.... 6'5" 315 lb Right tackle Johnson somehow sees the ball over his huge gut and scoops it up... the lumbering lineman somehow takes it to the house for a 67 hard crawl. great blocking from two wideouts help secure the run. Final from gainsville:UT 24UF 10Backup QB Coleman was thrusted in to the starting role this week as spider monkeys broke into cromptons house on Thursday night and broke 3 bones in his back.he did a hell of a job with 15-28 passing for 152 yards and a TD against possibly the fastest D in the countryWalker (LE) had another strong outing and was player of the game with 6 tackles 5 for a loss and 2 sacksI Swear if the EA servers pull the same shit as last week i give up[Edited on July 27, 2009 at 10:32 AM.
