New RUF CTR!
3/7/2017 12:15:12 PM
Oh my...
3/7/2017 3:33:18 PM
I love how thin that A pillar looks. Very sleek. Not like today's cars that remind me of Ricky Lake's arms when she was 200lbs.
3/7/2017 8:03:56 PM
if only it had a 4.0 + pdk
3/8/2017 9:30:19 PM
I am surprised they designed a car from the ground up but didn't make their own unique body. That does look amazing, however, and should have great performance.^ #Manual4Lyf
3/9/2017 11:49:15 AM
^^You're right, because RUF should make something almost identical to what Porsche currently makes, because that makes sense...
3/9/2017 1:43:07 PM
1993 looking body with a 2017 engine/transmission/brakes/suspension combo all with 1983 weight?
3/10/2017 1:19:26 PM
maybe I should have just said, some people are never happy. And I wish this was 1983 weight. It's considerably heavier than the original Yellow Bird.
3/10/2017 2:59:56 PM
I take it all back! It's a proper sequential 6spd!
3/11/2017 7:06:59 PM
Did I miss something? They didn't show the new CTR (Yellowbird 2.0), and both of those cars appeared to have a conventional manual gearbox.
3/13/2017 12:19:12 AM
go to 10:46 - ctr3 uses a 6spd sequential
3/13/2017 12:22:20 AM
Oops, my mistake.I'm not convinced that it's a dual clutch sequential like PDK, though. I could be wrong, though. In any case...different car from the top of the page.
3/13/2017 1:31:25 AM
^^ he says sequential, but when he is driving it (around 11-12 minutes), you can see him shifting a few times, and it seems like a manual to me?
3/13/2017 4:06:12 AM
Right, and it doesn't sound like a dual clutch to me.It's possible that it's a sequential like a motorcycle transmission, where you still manually do everything...it's just not an H-pattern box.[Edited on March 13, 2017 at 7:55 PM. Reason : In any case, it's a different car from the one we were otherwise talking about.]
3/13/2017 7:55:09 PM
that's the sequential I'd kill for. a dog box

What do a 2016 Panamera Turbo, Ferrari 458 Italia, and Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggara all have in common? They all have a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7:38. [Edited on April 4, 2017 at 5:47 PM. Reason : .]

Porsche pulling out of Le Mans prototype and into Formula E...This is probably the last GT3
8/24/2017 9:17:18 AM
That was news a few weeks ago. Still sucks.I'm a bit puzzled why you would say that this is the last GT3. That assumption makes little sense. The Le Mans program had no connection to their street legal sports cars. Meanwhile sports car racing is still incredibly financially lucrative and successful for Porsche, i.e. their race versions of the 911, as well as the Clubsport version of the Cayman.None of that is changing.
8/24/2017 9:33:16 AM
I don't think we're going to see any more meaningful R&D in their ICE track oriented cars. Their top end panamera is already a hybrid, the hypercar is a hybrid, and the base cars are turboed. Car companies don't do R&D for their street car and then trickle up the tech into their race cars. If the R&D of the top cars is electric and hybrid, where do you think the budget for advancing the track day special comes from?
8/24/2017 2:17:01 PM
That still doesn't spell "the end" of the GT3.As long as the RSR is naturally aspirated, so will the GT3. The next gen 718 GT4 and 718 Spyder have also been confirmed to remain NA. Whenever the RSR switches to turbos (bound to happen at some point) then so will the GT3. Doesn't mean it'll just disappear. As an aside, Porsche loves money and if they can continue to charge a premium for their naturally aspirated offerings then they can continue to build them well into the future. They're already built in production numbers low enough for their CAFE fleet impact to be meaningless...and even this sort of discussion is hilarious given that they're now an SUV company more than anything else.

If this had a 6 speed manual it would be my next cAr
8/30/2017 1:20:27 PM
225k wagon? hard pass
8/31/2017 4:30:18 PM
OMG I so <3 that thing, wtf took them so long?!
8/31/2017 9:51:36 PM
In 5 years when it's a 50k wagon
9/1/2017 6:50:44 AM
^^ I hope you didn't just see that now, and know that it has been out for 6 months. But yeah, it is gorgeous.I found this really interesting:Porsche sold 1 million 911s in the last 54 years.Porsche sold 0.5 million Cayennes in the last 6 years.Without the Cayenne, Porsche might have disappeared, or at least wouldn't be able to offer so many versions of the 911.

9/6/2017 2:15:47 AM
They'd probably be in a situation like Lotus. Which is to say, not good.I just can't wait for this retarded SUV craze to fucking die.
9/11/2017 9:39:32 AM
They got to 1 mm 911s in large part b/c of the last 2 decades...
