Looks like you're partially correct: Abrams is not doing the Dark Tower screen adaptation. It's definitely going to happen sometime - King's for it, and it has a lot of potential.

I wish you guys would leave the writers and stuff outside of the episodes out of the conversation.
2/16/2010 4:28:53 PM
noone gives a fuck what you wish^^ I hope so, it would be fantastic. But it could very easily be godawful.[Edited on February 16, 2010 at 4:31 PM. Reason : *]

Well I'm sure somebody out there would like things to be about the show. You guys rarely ever talk about the show. Its always about what the writers are doing, who is taking what new roles on other shows, easter eggs and any clue that can give you answers without watching the show. Lame. I'm done with this.

$10 bucks says we don't see Claire tonight until at least 9:55
2/16/2010 8:45:55 PM
Don't care about Claire. So far it's so much better than the past 2 episodes.Feel like we're actually getting some plot.[Edited on February 16, 2010 at 9:34 PM. Reason : .l]

It may be just because this is the only show I watch live, but holy fuck, it seems like there's more commercials than actual show. This is crazy.
2/16/2010 9:37:22 PM
I hope the alternate reality storyline has a huge payoff, because I can't see any reason to give a fuck about it.OH MAN BEN IS A TEACHER HAHA COOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

i don't know what it was exactly, but i liked this episode. i dont want Sawyer to be bad though

2/16/2010 10:04:58 PM
I'd say Sawyer is going to pull some "you can't con a conman" sorta thing. But I've been totally wrong too often so far with this season.
2/16/2010 10:13:00 PM
was kinda bummed they focused mainly on smokelocke and sawyer this episode. was hoping to find out more about what happened to sayid cause that's been bugging me the most since last week.
2/16/2010 10:18:22 PM
this episode was pretty epic. hey, we finally got a smoke monster-centric episode (sort of)!and i am really enjoying the alternate timeline stories, because we finally get to see the characters get some resolution with their lives.

**WARNING: SPOILERS LIKE CRAZY. THIS IS NOT AN EPISODE YOU WANT SPOILED** Great episode. I feel like they've sort of let the cat out of the bag pretty early in the season, though (unless there's a twist on the horizon). This is the first time in the series we've had an unequivocal explanation of both why the Oceanic 815 survivors are on the island and the origin of the numbers. These were arguably THE two major mysteries of the series (you can also argue that the most relevant mystery of late--the nature of the feud between Jacob and the man in black--was also revealed; Jacob wants to protect the island, but the man in black thinks it is pointless to protect the island and that Jacob is wasting people's time and lives). It seems like we can kind of see how the conclusion of the series is going to shape up now; there will be one of the "candidates" left (my money: Jack) and he will have to make the decision Sawyer had to make at the end of this episode; to go home, to do nothing, or to take over as protector of the island. And, we can kind of guess now that the "alternate reality" storyline will show us how meaningless and mundane their lives would be if they actually DID get off the island and return to their previous lives, which would make the audience root for the last remaining "candidate" to choose the more purposeful (presumably; although Smokelocke/the man in black says they are actually protecting the island from nothing) existence, even if it is difficult for them to give up their old life. This is what I'm predicting based on what was revealed tonight, but who knows...they could be setting us up for a major twist.
2/16/2010 10:50:16 PM
OH, and also, I thought it was extremely noteworthy that Kate was not one of the "candidates". She was really the only major character (that I can think of) that wasn't one. My guess is that she's gonzo soon.
2/16/2010 10:52:02 PM
So I think the only way smokey can get "off the island" is if he convinces Sawyer to leave / Sawyer dies / something of that sort...
2/16/2010 11:04:21 PM
Or if he gets all the candidates to die
2/16/2010 11:12:31 PM
i wonder where smokey's "home" is.. i'd hate to see some mythological place off the island, because for the entirety of the show, it's always been the (relatively) normal outside world vs. the fantastical island, and i'd like it to stay that way.
2/16/2010 11:13:04 PM
Didn't they (the writers/producers) say in season one that there was no magic and everything in the show could be explained by practical means or something like that?
2/16/2010 11:16:50 PM
Was it obvious to anyone else that Slocke is the bad guy? He threw the white rock into the ocean which only left the black rock on the scale.
2/16/2010 11:19:48 PM
racist
2/16/2010 11:21:12 PM
I guess we also know that Locke's father isn't responsible for his paralysis in the new time line. His fiance mentioned having a wedding with just her, her parents, Locke, and his pops. I also think its extremely noteworthy Kate was left out.
2/16/2010 11:27:53 PM

Kate's name wasn't on the ceiling... my guess is that in bizarro world Kate and Sawyer get married so both of their last names are Ford (Jacob definitely touched her as a child)
2/17/2010 12:31:35 AM
2/17/2010 12:35:40 AM
Any guesses on who will get the last candidate to choose whether or not to protect the island? Anybody think it's anybody besides Jack? What if it somehow the real Locke comes back to life, and he's the last one? He'd definitely choose to protect it, right? What if the last line of the series is "Don't tell me what I can't do"?

it's clearly because the writers introduced 6 numbers way back in season 1, and now they have to figure out what those numbers are supposed to mean, so they decided to give them to Jacob to use to number candidates and they could only have 6 people.
2/17/2010 1:53:52 AM
that makes sense
2/17/2010 2:00:51 AM
How about Sawyer and Jack both stay to be the new Jacob/MiB combo on the island. And the circle starts back at the beginning? They are at odds now, Sawyer wants to leave and Jack ( I think) wants to stay. Paralells Jacob/MiB pretty well atm.
2/17/2010 2:37:58 AM
2/17/2010 5:37:06 AM
jarrah was on the ceiling also. i don't remember it being crossed out. so does that mean sayid is a candidate as well?
2/17/2010 5:43:08 AM
^ Yeah I'd say so, would also explain why Jacob was insistent that he be taken to the temple and saved.
2/17/2010 7:48:22 AM
great episode last night**from TV Guide Scoops..Spoilerish**Someone posted above regarding a Jack/Sawyer Jacob/MiB parallel. This was on tvguide this morning
2/17/2010 8:08:35 AM
wouldnt that mean if sayid was a candidate he would have to be "sayid"? i mean, after his coming back to life, it has been speculated (even by myself) that it is not truly sayid but possibly jacob manifesting himself as sayid or even perhaps inhabiting sayid's body but with all of his memories, etc. so if that were the case, then sayid isn't sayid and his name would be crossed off, right? perhaps i am missing something?
2/17/2010 8:13:46 AM
well obviously the names don't cross themselves off and with Jacob dead and smoke-Locke or Sawyer not knowing Sayid's condition there hasn't been anyone or any reason to cross his name off.
2/17/2010 8:19:53 AM
I want Jack to die mid-season and Hurley to take up the reins. I'm almost as sick of Jack as I am Kate.
2/17/2010 9:23:52 AM
How the fuck is Sawyer getting out of that cave?
2/17/2010 9:25:37 AM
ha, that's what I thought when the ladders were coming apart.maybe he piggybacks on the smoke monster ala never-ending story.
2/17/2010 9:28:29 AM
maybe smokey turns back into smokey and grabs sawyer and fly's off revealing his true form?
