Augustin's handling does look (much) prettier, but I guess saying he's a more proficient handler than Lawson is a stretch. They were both super-efficient in college. Augustin was pretty good with the ball last year. Like Lawson though, he's got to develop a mid-range game if he's going to really be an impact player
6/30/2009 1:37:50 PM
i don't see any reason they can't. the cats really need him (and felton) to continue developing their games. felton especially needs to work on his stroke from 3. i really can't understand his regression in that area

Maybe already posted, but here's a Henderson highlight video. Even though it's a highlight video, it makes me feel a little better about the pick.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hehZQdVbG9I[Edited on June 30, 2009 at 1:52 PM. Bobcats close to trading Okafor to the Hornets for Tyson Chandler. Odd.http://www.charlotteobserver.com/597/story/856106.html?pageNum=5&&&&mi_pluck_action=page_nav#Comments_Container
7/28/2009 12:44:47 AM
i do not understand that trade at all
7/28/2009 12:45:17 AM
Chandler is better offensive player. But with CP3 in New Orleans, Okafor will turn into a 20pts 10reb machine.
7/28/2009 2:23:13 AM
wait, weren't the Hornets practically giving Chandler away last year before he failed a physical?[Edited on July 28, 2009 at 7:57 AM. Reason : .]
7/28/2009 7:56:39 AM
7/28/2009 8:48:52 AM
yeah but Okafor's entire repertoire is getting an offensive rebound, going up for a dunk, and getting stuffed
7/28/2009 8:51:29 AM
7/28/2009 8:53:46 AM
now all the bobcats need to do is trade 12 more players and implode the arena
7/28/2009 9:03:30 AM
I was downtown today and there is a line around the block outside the arena for season tickets after this trade was announced
7/28/2009 3:03:57 PM
hahaha thats a funny joke

hmm
8/22/2009 4:13:30 PM
So...does this mean they are going to trade Felton or what?If I were DJ Augustin, I'd be PISSED.
8/22/2009 4:39:14 PM
Exciting move, I think it will be enough to push them into the playoffs.

nor i. rick bonnell has his write up on his blog on charlotte observer saying its not a done deal yet but there's a good chance of it happening.http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2009/08/no-deal-yet-but-iversontobobcats-viable.html

This would make a lot of sense for the Bobcats. They've obviously got huge reservations about giving Felton a long term contract. With the team for sale the last thing you want to do is commit to any long term liabilities. If Iverson is anything like he was the last two years this won't make us a better basketball team on the court, but it will certainly help us sell tickets. However, I feel like Iverson finding out the entire league believes he's washed up will give him motivation to go all out this year and perhaps string together a productive season. With Felton instead of Iverson the numbers projected us to win 44 games this year, so even if we have a slight dropoff I feel like we're still a .500 or better team. He also adds a lot of flexibility by being able to play the 1 & 2 since we got knocked out of the playoff race the minute Raja Bell went down last year and we had no suitable replacement. Is Felton tradeable now? I think we'd be fine with Augustin/Iverson and I don't see how bringing back Felton for the QO does anything but crowd the backcourt and cause potential chemistry problems...
8/23/2009 12:32:58 PM
haha so we're getting the answer?
8/24/2009 3:26:55 PM
no answer on the answer
8/24/2009 3:27:23 PM
that is not the answer i was hoping to hear lol
8/24/2009 3:43:51 PM
i saw Fred Whitfield out at the bar last night and asked him about AI...he basically said anything could happen and that they're letting LB call the shots
8/26/2009 12:56:19 PM
Yeah I saw Jordan and he told me the same thing in between shots of Patron
8/26/2009 1:14:07 PM
Iverson says he's going to be w/ the Grizzlies this season
9/9/2009 11:51:27 AM
yeah i was reading the other day that it was a done deal, which made me sad =/
9/9/2009 1:50:02 PM
can't believe we didn't get him.he's turned in to the most underrated player in the league. Or underpaid at least. I understand the downside to signing him, but considering we need to sell tickets, need scoring, nd the Larry Brown Connection. no brainer.
9/9/2009 5:49:37 PM
Emeka Okafor? Coach Bickerstaff? Where's Skipper Beck?http://www.charlotteobserver.com/local/story/940649.htmlGood night, sweet prince

9/21/2009 5:50:49 PM
heard McCants has had a few workouts with the Bobcatsplz to not sign him
9/21/2009 6:06:46 PM
best uni's yet. I like the pinstripes and even though a lot of other teams rock 'em, it reminds me of the old Hornets' jerseys. Which kinda seems like the point. Now if we can just put a playoff caliber team on the floor... Anybody else worried that we don't have enough offense, even if we have a boatload of defense? I feel like we really missed the boat on the Iverson situation.
9/21/2009 6:11:18 PM
I wouldn't be totally opposed to mccants. He's a really cheap scorer and we could use a backup 2. He was deadly from 3s a few seasons ago
9/21/2009 6:41:54 PM
yea...we havent really improved this offseason. i like the henderson acquisition as an eventual replacement for bell, and i think he can provide a bit more offense, but still we have nothing to fill the obvious void of scoring we had at times last year. iverson would've been ideal statistically, but its probably for the best we missed on him.my only problem with mccants (besides being #2 on my most hated carolina players of the last 10 years) is all he does is score. do we really have a spot to give up on this team for a 2nd rate one-dimensional player?[Edited on September 21, 2009 at 6:57 PM. Reason : .]
9/21/2009 6:56:19 PM
Aren't McCants and Henderson the same player? What would be the point of that?
9/22/2009 1:45:58 AM
McCants is a much better outside shooter than Henderson, at least at this point. Henderson will struggle offensively until he develops a reliable outside shot. McCants, on the other hand, is a defensive liability. As for why they would do this, it doesn't seem worth the McCants drama for a one-dimensional player. Of course, they could swap Henderson and McCants depending on the need for offense or defense. Obviously Bell is more well-rounded than either one.
9/22/2009 2:13:44 AM
a 20-fold improvement from the old jerseys to the new ones. not to say i think the new ones are even that good, the ones were just that shitty
9/22/2009 8:25:26 AM
Those jerseys really don't look bad at all. Still not sure the Bobcats are a playoff team, though. They've got a lot of good offensive pieces. Wallace and Diaw can both fill it up, and Felton/Augustin can get hot. Bell will hit just about any shot if he's left open. Henderson should get some effort baskets and fast break points. Chandler will get some garbage points and alley-oops. The problem is a lack of a go to guy and consistent scorer. It's good because teams can't load up on one guy. It's bad because you have no idea where the points will come from. Also, with the loss of Okafor, I'm worried the rebounding is going to be a problem.
