I'm sure Obama's speech had its share of protesters, they just never had a chance to capture any attention in such an open and large environment.

I hope McCain gets to some new stuff quick. He's a reformer, a maverick, voted for the surge, okay. What about the future? Let's hear more on what you want to accomplish as President. He seems stuck on what he has done. Not what he will do.

one of the most hilarious things to witness every 4 years is naive liberals underestimating the rest of the country as being exactly like them...it truly is lolarious
9/4/2008 10:34:12 PM
fuck yeah man. USSR!
9/4/2008 10:34:25 PM
he is terrible at giving speeches, like he is reading it for the first time.....McCain knows nothing about the economy, he is a war hawk....that is all...
9/4/2008 10:35:09 PM
we won't go back, we will go forward. not down, but up
9/4/2008 10:35:54 PM
is war hawk a new nickname for prisoner of war, or are you just saying that McCain and Bush are the same person (obama = jeremiah wright)]
9/4/2008 10:35:55 PM
This audience is not very smart. Every time he calls out a location, he follows it with a heartbreaking story, yet they still cheer.

Just because he was POW means he should be President? Sucks he was POW, but is that why he should be President? I mean, it was like I was watching the History Channel.....
9/4/2008 10:37:33 PM
yes, I totally agree. because your religion and preacher is the same thing as the party you support that makes the decisions that rule the counrty

The only speech of either convention that has excited me at all was Bill Clinton's.
9/4/2008 10:38:30 PM
omg, he needs a better speech writer, or better speech training.the rhythm is killing me
9/4/2008 10:39:01 PM
platitudes platitudes platatitudeswas Obama's speech like this? I skipped it last week (worked a 16 hour day on Thursday y'all).
9/4/2008 10:39:13 PM
Bill Clinton's speech was the best fake speech of the last 2 weeks
9/4/2008 10:39:38 PM
9/4/2008 10:39:44 PM
dude, could he dumb this down any more?
9/4/2008 10:39:49 PM
He said he would cut spending. I heard it. It would be amazing if someone would actually go through with this.
9/4/2008 10:40:11 PM
your pointless hatred is probably not healthy for you
9/4/2008 10:40:23 PM
The problem is is that he's gonna have to start addressing the problems with the economy and how he can help the middle class. That's fucking key. Specifics McCain or else. Obama was very detailed about that in his last speech, to his credit. Instead McCain has yet to even talk about it and that's a big no no right now. You can show all the videos and talk about service and country first all you want but that's not deciding this election. i did fwiw think the video leading him in was really good though, superbly put together.
9/4/2008 10:40:56 PM
he also said "i will cut taxes....where I can"i dont think people were ready for that "where i can"
9/4/2008 10:41:43 PM
9/4/2008 10:41:46 PM
yes, he should be telling us more how he will take more of my money and give it to people that don't work...
9/4/2008 10:41:51 PM
specifics will come out in the 3 debates, for both candidatesall obama really said specifically was he would give credits to familes and businessesand by give, he means put our tax money towards]

you guys - say what you want about Obama's "greek columns" (again, that were covered up so much that it looked more like a sushi bar than the Parthenon), but these this huge powerpoint show they keep showing behind the stage is gaudy and cheesy..... and of course I'll get slammed as unpatriotic for saying this, but I find it the height of arrogance and childishness when crowds of adults start chanting "U.S.A, U.S.A" like they were at a hockey game. This occurred several times at the DNC too, and I found it off-putting then also.
9/4/2008 10:44:13 PM

i think most people will agree that the USA chants are overboard
9/4/2008 10:46:31 PM
Cherokee, aye. I hope we never have to deal with a Palin presidency.Good points on energy policy. This a big plus he has over Obama. He needs to emphasize it more.
