Class today was very hard... i started to choke up at the beginning of class. The students have decided to leave her seat empty for the rest of the semester.

Agreed. Time to get a better lawyer.

Did they know the guy or did they just play Hey Mister outside the ABC store?
1/21/2012 4:25:45 PM
probably knew her considering they found the guy, but I don't know.
1/21/2012 4:44:23 PM
wonder what kind of surveillance they have in that area for cops to look at. surely a camera at the abc store. at the least the guy could tell police about when geter would have went in. but like smath74 said, idk[Edited on January 21, 2012 at 4:49 PM. Reason : too unspecific]

Sucks to be that guy, he better hire James Crouch or some shit.
1/21/2012 5:38:49 PM
I still haven't figured out that if these kids were at a party, why haven't the parents who owned the house that party was at aren't being charged with anything
1/21/2012 7:27:05 PM
probably wasnt home. Or the ALE has not hit them yet.

Good friend of mine got in a one car wreck before the holidays and is struggling to walk again (just got feeling back in his toes in his second foot and is wearing a halo due to crushed vertabrae). He was most definitely drinking.

After seeing them charge Dr. Cook with Murder 2, I was wondering why they haven't slapped that charge on this kid. There are similar circumstances, I feel like.
1/26/2012 12:48:18 PM
Geez, what a bad situation all around. It kind of makes me understand the approach my parents took with me as a teen. They knew I was going to be out drinking sometimes. My mom would even sometimes offer to buy beer for me. And they always stressed if I needed a way home to just call them. Didn't matter what time it was. Just call and they would come pick me up, no questions asked.
1/26/2012 12:59:50 PM
Why was the driver not charged with violation of proby after failing not one, but TWO drug tests after his first arrest? And in NC is 17 not considered a minor? I noticed they named two kids but not the 15 y/o
1/26/2012 10:20:45 PM
Let's see. Smith, who had an alcohol charge back in September obviously was having a bday get-down. Did her parents just not know about her September charge? How would they not know she would throw down when left home alone for her birthday weekend?I don't think it's much of a stretch here to put some blame on Smith's parents, seeing as everyone else is going down.
1/26/2012 11:22:31 PM
I think the only one responsible for Garrett Prince driving drunk, is Garrett Prince. Not the guy that bought the boozeNot the store that sold the boozeNot the people he was drinking withNot the people who owned the house the party was atetc.
1/28/2012 1:24:02 PM
^ Agreed.
1/28/2012 7:26:53 PM
^^
1/28/2012 7:49:39 PM
^^^ i agreed with that until i read this...
1/28/2012 8:04:04 PM
I think we need to encourage young people to stick to beer and just steal a bunch from the grocery store when need be or use a fake ID at the cool gas station or something.THE DOORS OPEN AUTOMATICALLY...IT'S REALLY EASY TO RUN OUT!!!
1/28/2012 9:36:32 PM
Only the driver should be punished. If they're going to go this extreme, they might as well go all out and charge the distillery and distributor for making the rum that they drank and the store that sold it to the purchaser.Lets not forget that everyone made a choice that night, including the girl who died. She didn't have to get in the car with them. She made a stupid ass choice, a tragic one, but ultimately she's responsible for the decisions she makes. The driver is responsible, obviously, but she's just as responsible for her own death. As to the other girls, whether they were there or not, this girl was dead. The other girls should just get busted for underaged drinking, the man should just get busted for buying alcohol for minors.
1/28/2012 10:13:30 PM
They should charge everyone involveds mothers too, had they not reproduced it would not have started this chain of events in motion. They should also arrest all the fathers who had sex with the women who later birthed these kids involved in this underage drinking.
1/28/2012 11:21:53 PM
Just got a call from a friend to let me know that our other friend just got arrested for a DWI in Charlotte. Way to go, dumbass.
1/29/2012 12:55:33 AM
Since arrest is obviously not a deterrent, and prison is too expensive for such a common & non-violent offense, would a penalty that your car is immediately seized and crushed work?
1/29/2012 1:41:05 PM
1/29/2012 2:30:51 PM
The justice system can not replace parenting, if my 16 year old kid was on probation he would not be leaving the house at all.....let alone driving. I would have took him off my car insurance, took his license back to the DMV and told them to suspend it, and sold his car. I would be lucky to have been driving a bicycle if I had been on probation at age 16.
1/29/2012 2:51:57 PM
I agree completely. The punishment that my parents would have doled out would be far more extreme than anything that probation would have.
