one of america's brightest is dead, and these POS live. Fair? I dont think so.
3/12/2008 5:23:20 PM
First i was like..Then i was like..Now i'm like..
3/12/2008 5:23:24 PM
i say if they find them guilty then take a vote.....
3/12/2008 5:23:38 PM
then shouldn't whoever sentences someone to death be found guilty of murder, and subsequently killed, etc...
3/12/2008 5:23:44 PM
HAHAHAHAHAH ^
3/12/2008 5:23:49 PM
Jackleg is fed up with government and the judicial system that have both become unruly machines of corporate america. Let him have his moment on the soapbox.
3/12/2008 5:23:59 PM
i tend to believe that the death penalty shows a higher respect for the value of human life.in that taking the life of another is so grievous that the only way full retribution can be achieved is through having your life taken.
3/12/2008 5:24:26 PM
3/12/2008 5:24:53 PM
no problem sir
3/12/2008 5:25:13 PM
I normally say let offenders like this rot in jail, but sitting in jail for life is probably an upgrade for these stupid fucking thugs
3/12/2008 5:26:00 PM
I think the death penalty ends it all for those who are suffering. They will sleep good at night knowing that person is off the face of the earth and is never coming back. No parole, no bullshit. He's gone and is paying the ultimate price.I mean look at the guy who killed Micheal Jordan's dad. He's coming up on parole soon.
3/12/2008 5:26:24 PM
so you would rather let these guys rot in jail?what is the difference between keeping someone held in your basement until they died and having someone in jail until they died.leave it up to the courts to decide what should happen, and if they are found guilty the correct way, and you people are against that, then i feel sorry for you folks.
3/12/2008 5:26:31 PM
Some gay dude probably did it because she was bangin the guy he liked.
3/12/2008 5:26:42 PM
To really have capital punishment work, we need to speed it up. Try these lowlifes take them in the next room and end them. Instead of letting them live 50 yrs in jail before they do it. That way, no one knows who they are or what they did. Not very effective.
3/12/2008 5:29:01 PM

3/12/2008 5:35:09 PM
thats for all the unc fans!
3/12/2008 5:35:43 PM
I'm going to have to assume that they got the ATM card by some other means. No one would be that stupid.Wait, is he using her car while using the card?
3/12/2008 5:39:00 PM
yeah i was saying in another thread that on the first 48 (i know its a tv show but its real), that like 9 out of 10 times when someone is using a dead persons ATM card or car or phone, they had nothing to do with the murder. but i guess the cops know something we dont know, cause there's a huge difference between financial card theft/fraud and murder
3/12/2008 5:43:17 PM
3/12/2008 5:45:39 PM
I think the time frame of them acquiring and using the car/ATM card relative to her death is what caused them to be convicted
3/12/2008 5:46:08 PM
3/12/2008 5:47:02 PM
^ that is just not true.
3/12/2008 5:47:34 PM
3/12/2008 5:48:35 PM
how is it not true?first degree murder is a class A felony in NC, which is a mandatory minimum life sentence. there's no way to argue that one...
3/12/2008 5:50:24 PM
yeah a first degree murder charge in most states allows for the possibility of parole down the road not sure how it is in NC...most states have special circumstance laws that remove parole from the equation if you kill a cop, judge, witness, etc.
3/12/2008 5:51:15 PM
NC has structured sentencing. its something like no parole and you can only earn like 15% credit, for everything except life sentences.this doesnt apply to people who were convicted pre SS
3/12/2008 5:53:38 PM
^^^ people who have murdered come up for parole all the time -- parole board doesn't always grant them parole based on the crime, but murderers do walk from prison. If you don't know, a life sentence = 20 years in prison.[Edited on March 12, 2008 at 5:54 PM. Reason : another ]
3/12/2008 5:53:45 PM
wow, lardass. you're arguing based on laws that changed 15 years ago. the people you see coming up for parole now were convicted back before they changed the rules.think about it. if you're up for parole now, youve been in jail for a long time. anyone who got a life sentence since like 1992 or so is not getting out
3/12/2008 5:55:24 PM
which is why people can be serving MULTIPLE life sentences.
3/12/2008 5:55:34 PM
ok youre either completely fucking stupid or a troll. either way, i'm just gonna not waste anymore brainpower on you
3/12/2008 5:56:15 PM
no you don't understand, a LIFE SENTENCE = 20 years, you may be right that the law has changed to define a life sentence, but if so it wasn't in the early 90's.fuck you I'm not trolling, I'm trying to give facts. Yes I usually troll, but not in this type of thread.[Edited on March 12, 2008 at 5:57 PM. Reason : .]
3/12/2008 5:56:44 PM
hahhahhahaha a life sentence is shorter than a 25 year sentence.maybe if you're 80. god damnit i hate it when i cant stop arguing with stupid people
3/12/2008 5:58:55 PM
Jackleg, take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_imprisonmentI'm not trolling, take it easy. I'm correcting you.
3/12/2008 5:59:54 PM
if you really want to be informed on the laws of this state, i suggest looking up the statutes of this state, and the felony punishment grid for class A felony.not fucking wikipedia
3/12/2008 6:02:09 PM
3/12/2008 6:02:40 PM
now you are just upset b/c I called you out. I told you last I heard a life sentence in NC is 20 years... that was a few years ago, yes it may have changed for NC in the last few years but I doubt it.

3/12/2008 6:03:32 PM
thats why I never talk in absolutes on this sitealways leave the door open in case you're wrong
3/12/2008 6:06:12 PM
or you can just look like a total retard and cite wikipedia
3/12/2008 6:06:52 PM
No it is a little more complicated than that, they have yet to be sentenced. Life sentence without parole is different from a life sentence.
3/12/2008 6:08:30 PM
nope, thats what that little grid is forthats what structured meansif convicted of the class A felony of murder 1, there are only 2 choiceslife in prison or death
3/12/2008 6:09:26 PM
I was trying to point out that you are incorrect that if you murder someone you will spend the rest of your life in prison, that is just not true. But for the sake of not arguing and changing the subject, I am glad they caught these guys.
3/12/2008 6:09:50 PM
but since we live in north carolina, we should be talking about what happens in north carolina. and in NC, if you get convicted of first degree murder, you never go free. you said that these guys would be out in 20 years. and i stated that if they are convicted of what you're saying they did, then they won't get out. that's the truth. i don't care what wikipedia says.nc statute > wikipedia...
