^ I HAVE SEEN THAT GT3! With the bike on top too (and him hauling ass down blue ridge rd one night a few weeks ago..)
5/15/2009 5:16:50 PM
Ahmet, you need to watch your white balance. Rex's car is way more red than that. That photo makes it look orange.
5/15/2009 5:19:35 PM
What? There's another green one in town?dammiti need a new color
5/15/2009 6:43:59 PM
^what you need is to give me a ride in yoursyou know, so that i can say i've ridden in a green lamborghini.saw a black m5 touring wagon at the walmart in goldsboro about five minutes ago. in a handicap spot

I've seen the same R8 near my house (tryon/jones franklin) about 3 times this week.
5/15/2009 7:49:43 PM
There's one of these in my work parking lot in Cary right now. Have a cell phone pic but can't post til i get home if anyone is that interested.

Actually, an old dude just took off in it. Sounded pretty good.

5/19/2009 11:42:47 PM
God that is gorgeous. I think I need to build one when I'm 35 and settled down.
5/20/2009 8:37:18 AM
wow, Syme, when you posted the first pic, which is of a superformance coupe (http://www.superformance.com/coupe.aspx), I expected the pic from your cell phone to show one of the cheaper kit replicas of the shelby daytona coupe, like one of these:http://www.factoryfive.com/coupehome.htmlhttp://www.leshermotorsports.com/gallery/lmgallery/gallery-demo-p/index.htmlhttp://www.shellvalley.com/Replicas_and_Jeeps/Daytona_Replica/...but that indeed appears to be the "real mccoy" insofar as the original car wasn't really a set quantity, what with there being like 6 made, and they're all somewhat different from one another... I consider the current superformance coupe to be the "genuine" daytona coupe for any point in history, the original cars being little more than prototypes for the only car with a development time longer than the lexus lf-a's
5/20/2009 9:14:12 AM
I especially like this one with the flared arches:
5/20/2009 9:22:13 AM
I really want to build the GTM kit car from Factory Five Racing.. Uses a lot of parts from a C5 but the frame and all is included in the kitSome of them have turned out awesome[Edited on May 20, 2009 at 9:27 AM. Reason : k enough pics ]
5/20/2009 9:25:29 AM
ok, a few more, can't help myself.
5/20/2009 9:30:02 AM
edit:------^ oh yeah, I love that GTM too. sexxxxy.factory five's best work is definitely when they try to be original. as much as I like the superformance coupe, the factory five version doesn't attract me nearly as much as the gtm would probably satisfy a lot of my ford gt fetish. And that's completely without speaking of actual performance. just lust factor.[Edited on May 20, 2009 at 9:36 AM. Reason : img not link]

Not sure how many of you are in Charlotte, but there's a garage that regularly has 3-4 Lamborghini's and a few Vipers parked around it. It's near the intersection of Griffith Road and Westpark Road near I-77.
5/20/2009 9:40:40 AM
ok, one more:

Saw a bright green Lamborghini Gallardo Sypder at Cameron Village on Sunday on 440 today. Driven by an Emo kid that appeared to be mid 20's CliffyB.
5/21/2009 12:54:48 PM
Mark, the GT3 picture was taken by Rex, I've got nothing to do with it. The picture of my car, that's all me...Anyway, if you guys like these cars so much, why don't you come to a track event, I've seen every car posted on this page on track in the last two months.
5/21/2009 2:02:40 PM
black lambo this morning on the way to work off of Tryon -> Jones Franklin -> US 1 North

no where close to fucking exotic but i saw a new Camaro at Mathews motors in Clayton
5/22/2009 5:59:01 PM
5/22/2009 8:06:22 PM
figured you would know homo
5/26/2009 11:52:10 AM
Since you guys consider these exotics;I have to admit, as a coupe I like it MUCH better. BTW, the picture of the red GT3 was not taken by me, so I accept no responsibility for that shot... That's all Rex's doing, on his iPhone I believe.
5/26/2009 2:29:30 PM
Gallardo on s. tryon in charlotte
5/27/2009 4:39:25 AM
I figured in this thread exotic = strikingly unusual, not foreign (which is what I assume you mean).
5/27/2009 10:19:16 AM
^unusual in a tasteful way yes. Not necessarily foreign, although I guess that's what a majority of exotics are.
5/27/2009 10:23:11 AM
saw a yellow Lotus something on Hillsboro around lunch timealso a turbo prius??
5/27/2009 9:50:56 PM
What makes you think it was a turbo? FACTS ONLY, DON'T MAKE I THINK POSTS. I'm not mad.
5/27/2009 10:20:23 PM
^it had the turbo badge, ok?[Edited on May 28, 2009 at 10:09 PM. Reason : .]

There's a 2006 Maserati for sale on lotustalk for $49k, looks to be a sick deal if anyone has 50k laying around.
5/28/2009 11:47:58 PM
5/29/2009 1:30:51 AM
I was first going to say no way, but really I don't want to come across as a meanie head. Would you do it if you had $50k laying around? I don't think I'd buy that car regardless of how much money I had... An Aston Martin DB7-9 though... Now there's a car that at least looks good while being unreliable and impractical.
5/29/2009 1:35:52 AM
no way i'd buy a maserati for that price in today's market
5/29/2009 1:57:27 AM
It's still under warranty until Aug, 2010.http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f162/fs-2006-maserati-gransport-73069/That is a sick car. 12,714 miles
5/29/2009 5:34:08 AM
That car does look good! As new there are so many better choices for the money though...but for 50k...mayhaps.and ahmet...i don't ever want to hear you talk about unreliable... you've yet to own a reliable car
5/29/2009 9:04:51 AM
You can easily get the same car for around $30K. Foriegn Cars Italia has an 02 Spyder with 12K miles on it and wants $33K for it.http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=247902651&dealer_id=614521&car_year=2002&rdm=1243614393969&num_records=25&model=&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1981&engine=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&certified=&fuel=&body_code=0&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=200&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=y&first_record=26&make=MAS&color=&keywords_display=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=75000&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=28610&advanced=y&end_year=2010&pager.offset=25&transmission=&doors=&max_price=&cardist=73&standard=false

The interior looks like crap (what do they call it? Tobacco brown?) though. And the back end makes me think of a Volvo for some reason.
5/29/2009 12:32:33 PM
drove home next to a brand new maserati yesterday... didn't snap a picture or anything though.also, kind of funny: an intern at my wife's work last year would occasionally drive an R8 to work.she works for Taylormade/adidas-Golf here in san diego. apparently this intern's dad is like Germany's biggest talk show host.
