Parents brought back an Arizona State hat after house shopping in Phoenix last week. I'm sportin' it now.

3/18/2008 10:27:19 PM
3/18/2008 10:28:36 PM

He could feel us watchin' him..... Wonder if there are more people watching the ASU-Arizona baseball game rather than this game? Don't answer that V Yeah, huge deal down there in the Valley. Suprised this many people showed up for the game.[Edited on March 18, 2008 at 11:53 PM. Reason : a]

OMG, Arizona State played Arizona tonight in baseball????no wonder there's a bad turnout[Edited on March 18, 2008 at 11:51 PM. Reason : m]

Devils win 64-53. Face So. Illinois later this week. And BTW everyone that attended the baseball game made a better move. ASU stays #1 in baseball and they can come support Herb in the next game.
3/19/2008 12:02:20 AM
well at least they won their first round gamemore than the Wildcats will be able to say
3/19/2008 12:10:38 AM
This season was the 4th time in 27 years that the Devils won 20 games... That missed 3 pointer-turned dunk was sick. Are they home or away vs. SIU?
3/19/2008 9:07:55 AM
home until NYC
3/19/2008 10:30:21 AM
Salukis tonight at midnight ETESPN2their star PG is out for the season, so that'll make it a little easier, but they still have a pretty nasty PF and C. we'll see if Pendergraph can stay out of foul trouble and if Boateng can get some more quality minutes
3/20/2008 9:28:31 AM
game is already overonce again, Herb can't get past the sweet 16
3/20/2008 11:16:48 PM
hhahaha, what is the score?
3/20/2008 11:20:52 PM

more than likelyshould be a great turnout though (8000-10000)i'm not an all-around ASU fan, rather just a bball fan....but it seems like a great year for the athletics department. Baseball is currently #1, softball is #1, track won the NCAAs, football had a 10-win season, womens bball faces Duke tonight in round of 32, mens basketball was in the top-25 and gained a lot of national press this seasonthings are pretty good in Tempe
3/25/2008 1:44:00 PM
why dont you move out therebut leave your awesome thread.
3/25/2008 1:44:58 PM
nah. i'd be broke after one week living out there

Herb and Billy Donovan go way back, 20+ years...http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20080324/NEWS/107582683/1056

I tuned into their NIT game last week and couldn't help but notice that Herbie had pulled that same shit that he did at NCSU where he took every ounce of color off of the Arizona State floor and had no names on the back of the jerseys. Leave it to Mr. Carnegie Mellon to suck the fun and flash out of college basketball. He's damn good at that, feasting on cupcakes, and giving the most God awful analogies.
3/25/2008 7:24:08 PM
Yeah! Fun is seeing names on the back of jerseys!!! And color on the floor!!!
3/25/2008 7:43:08 PM
that guy can't be serious.
3/25/2008 7:50:15 PM
^^You damn right it is. Those things mean a lot to players and for the parents, especially international ones (whom herb had a few of) to see so that they can be proud. And the floor is a big piece of tradition and adds a lot otherwise they wouldn't have bothered selling the damn thing when we moved out in 99!
3/25/2008 8:00:08 PM
yeah !!
3/25/2008 8:01:08 PM
he does have a point. bob knight refused to put the names on the back of jerseys and he only won more games then anyone else.
3/25/2008 8:10:21 PM
another slow start
3/25/2008 8:10:50 PM
^^Rest assured that is a record Herb won't reach!
3/25/2008 8:11:40 PM
of course he won't. he has a bland floor and lacks names on jerseys[Edited on March 25, 2008 at 8:13 PM. Reason : dfd]
3/25/2008 8:12:46 PM
EXACTLY!!!
3/25/2008 8:13:19 PM
OMG, you're saying Herb won't win 900 games?you're an idiot
3/25/2008 8:13:34 PM
back to the game....this is fucking UGLY! i'm really worried that all the fans who hadn't been to a single game all season, but went to this one expecting to see great things are going to be disappointed.ASU really needs a huge 3 or a power dunk to change momentumotherwise, this will be a 20-point game by halftime
3/25/2008 8:15:42 PM
An Arizona State thread on an NCSU message board is idiocy and any fan of herb sendek is an idiot. The bitch of Tobacco Road. What was it a meager 15-46 against Tobacco Road? Even that is skewed. Remove Matt. D @ UNC from that and what do you have??!! Herb didn't have what it takes for the ACC. One sweet 16 and being on the perpetual bubble of the tourney every year epitomizes Herb Sendek!
3/25/2008 8:20:48 PM
i agree. thank god he's gone so we can go back to being at the bottom of the conference every year.
3/25/2008 8:23:44 PM
Actually, if you want to talk facts Herb didn't have what it takes against UNC and Duke. Against the rest of the ACC he was in the Top 4 in the entire ACC among coaches at the time. Still, we measure ourself against UNC and Duke and it's going to take a living legend to coach up to them... unfortunately we weren't able to hire one...
3/25/2008 8:24:49 PM
it doesn't take a living legend to do better than 8-38. that's just ridiculous !!]
3/25/2008 8:27:26 PM
it does if you're talking about two of the best programs in college basketball history
3/25/2008 8:29:49 PM
Yeah, even FSU had more success against UNC and Duke during that time span. I just will always remember Herb for tanking games. His first season in the old round robin we made it through the entire first half of the acc schedule with a big 0-8. That's putrid. He also succeeded at losing any "big" non conference games in November and December (a price paid by feasting on no name cupcakes). Down in SC in 04 for example. Or a lousy loss in the Big Ten Challenge against a terrible OSU team in the early part of this decade. Him and his lousy Princeton offense was like waving the white flag. It, like him produced boring and lousy results. What real coach honestly runs that shit? Bielin? Who else? Nobody of worth!
3/25/2008 8:33:55 PM
it NEEDS to be single-digits at the halfotherwise, the fire Herb threads will start on thesundevilsweb.com
3/25/2008 8:35:10 PM
we lost 9 straight in the acc this year...so i guess things haven't changed much.
3/25/2008 8:40:27 PM
That Syracuse win was a fart in the wind. The year prior to that they choked one away at the RBC to Syracuse.
