So why did Desmond forget his whole time on the island? Will he remember if they go back towards the island?

http://brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=516752desmond is simply moving about two different ranges of the space time continuomsay noon 12/24/96- 8pm 12/24/96and say noon 12/24/04- 8pm 12/24/04every instant of time has its very own layer. he's somehow skipping layers (8 years worth backwards as well)faraday has mastered the art of this and one of his drawings even showed a diagram of a layer with a fold in it due to electromagnetism.

at the end of the episode he has come back to 2004. it was clear he had made the transition back and remembered everything... especially the way he stressed sayidremember, penny was his constant
3/1/2008 10:51:51 AM
I've seen the episode thrice and the call between Des and Penny still gets me. It was like the icing on the cake after an already phenomenal episode.
3/1/2008 11:50:12 AM
Def a good scene at the end. If I was a girl, I would have cried.
3/1/2008 12:59:01 PM
^ good thing you are just a bitch and not a girl then. LOL @ "I would have cried"
3/1/2008 3:35:32 PM
So who opened the door for Sayid and Desmond?
3/1/2008 4:19:29 PM
walt, duh.pretty sure they made that obvious]
3/1/2008 4:33:46 PM
they may not ever reveal the property that explains the time sync of the island.Right now there are two burning questions that I think they will answer before this season is put to a halt by the greedy bastards who are writing and producing the show:1) Who the phuuck is Ben anyways? Why the heck dusnt Locke ask him directly?2) Who the phuuck do the people on the boat work for? Why do they want to kill the islanders?I think that the boat is owned by Mr. Whidmore and that he is part of the organization that began the Dharma intiative. That explains why they were told to ignore all transmission from Penny -her old man knows what she is up to and is trying to prevent her from contacting the boat since she talked to Charlie and the Russians in the N. Pole who "saw" the island briefly. They are looking for Ben because they know he killed all of their people in the original colony and they haven't been able to find the island since they lost contact due to the efforts of Mikhail and the women in the Hydra station. He has somehow kept how his people come and go (Richard for Juliette. Juliettes sister recovering from cancer, the supplies from the airplace, etc) from the island a secret from the Dharma corp, but they know what he has been up to (angry chinese guy knows who ben is and knows that he can do what no one else can already). They want to kill the islanders because they do not understand the force on the island that Ben (and Richard) commmunicate with. They expect (understandably) that anyone on the island will turn out like Ben -killing intruders on behalf of the island (Locke). Thus the orders for the copter crew were to kill inhabitants and make way for a new colony.Right now, this seems like a believable set of events to come -without knowing the physics of the island. Get ready for the physics to be explained as "supernatural" or "god-like" to allow them to cover their tracks with the science nerds. Remember: they promised we would know about Jacob this season -that will be the kicker...

Can someone refresh me on the Hanso part of it?
3/1/2008 8:20:06 PM
i'm really considering buying all the seasons on dvd to refresh myself on everything that is going on
3/1/2008 8:43:37 PM
There's nothing going on. Nothing from earlier shows matters. They just make up new shit every week.
3/1/2008 9:42:48 PM
^^^The Hanso part of this episode or where Hanso fits in in the Lost storyline?
3/2/2008 12:26:32 PM
^^^^Alvar Hanso is head of the Hanso Foundation (part of that supplemental Lost Experience that happened between seasons 2 and 3). He financially backed the creation of the DHARMA Initiative. At various points in time, different Others have quoted him (implying that some of his philosophies play a part in the Other's beliefs). He is the grandson of the captain of the Black Rock. In this episode, another Hanso family member was auctioning off the journal.

So Faraday has sort of explained that one Desmond episode where he's back in time but remembers everything, and I guess his clairvoyance as well. I wonder if Faraday will find out about that - it will have to happen eventually.
3/4/2008 1:32:30 AM
^^^that all seems fairly plausible
3/4/2008 8:53:02 AM
tonight.
3/6/2008 9:37:43 AM
^^^^^ I really really like that theory. I mean some of it is stuff that has already been talked about (Like widmore sending the freighter), but the whole using the race to find the island concept... I like it.
3/6/2008 9:46:44 AM
is the night. I'll light the candles.
3/6/2008 9:46:45 AM
Ooh a Juliet-centric episode. I'm quite ready.
3/6/2008 8:57:20 PM
WIDMORE STRIKES AGAIN!

finally some fucking answers.

Glad amac is gone.

or is he?
3/6/2008 9:46:56 PM
Michael's on the boat
3/6/2008 10:02:16 PM
They followed up the best episode of the season with one of the worst of the series. Typical.
3/6/2008 10:04:18 PM
yeah, no shit. besides almost falling asleep, the writing was bad and the plot bad and boring. Most of it felt like a daytime soap opera.....
3/6/2008 10:06:22 PM
yep, ben's line + the promo pretty much guaranteed michael being the man on the boat
3/6/2008 10:06:38 PM
worst? I thought the scene with Ben and Juliet where he tells her he owns her was awesome. It was like they took Ben being evil to a whole-nother-level. Anybody else wonder if Hugo (thats the fat guy right) is using his power over reality to force the horse shoe to land where he wants. After all he made the cabin disappear so apparently he has neo-like abilities he just needs to bend a few more spoons and off the Island they will be.
3/6/2008 10:09:49 PM
god, I can't tell if people are joking or are seriously complete morons sometimes in this thread
3/6/2008 10:12:50 PM
^^ are you fucking serious? have you ever watched this show? are you in the right thread?
3/6/2008 10:14:07 PM
my DVR crapped out with 20min left
3/6/2008 10:29:21 PM
yeah, this episode was really boring to me
3/7/2008 12:07:06 AM
3/7/2008 12:08:23 AM
Completely away from last night's episode, I've been starting to wonder if Sayid is indeed one of the Oceanic 6 or if he got off the island w/ Ben at a different point. The reason being that Jack, Kate, and Hurley are celebrities and everyone knows their face. That guy Sayid capped on the golf course had no clue who he was until he introduced himself. Seems like you couldn't really be a hitman if you were one of the most recognizable faces on the planet. Am I missing anything here?
3/7/2008 7:08:35 AM
Sure you could, just as long as you make sure nobody knows you are a hitman. Based on how long Sayid was in germany its not like he was killing people every few days, he was waiting a long time in between. And he might not be that recognizable, just because they are part of the Oceanic Six doesnt mean they were like Jack and Kate who seem to have gone on talk shows and are widely known. Not to mention the promo for sayids episode said "And another of the oceanic six is revealed". And there are two members left of the oceanic six... next week we find out who the rest of the six are, and its a Jin/Sun episode. That tell you anything?[Edited on March 7, 2008 at 7:14 AM. I wouldn't rule out JJ pulling a fast one on us. Seems kinda over-obvious telling us that the last of the Oceanic 6 would be revealed next week and then letting us know it's a Jin and Sun episode. They seem to enjoy screwing with our heads a bit more than that.
