Yeah, it would be helpful if that was somewhere on the actual box so you could tell

I got my bundle back in December and I haven't had any hardware problems (of course now that I say that, the bass pedal will break tonight). Given I have been using a Guitar Hero guitar for the past few weeks, but I played with the packaged one a hell of a lot, and the drums have been keeping up fine.

dude, i just got a new guitar and drumset 2 weeks ago, both were brand new and not refurbished...they both are totally different and play totally different and better than my originals...

i think the hardware is great now...i dont miss anything unless it's my fault

i got the bundle about three weeks ago and haven't had any problems with the hardware. the guitar has gotten the most play.. i still don't like the strum action very much (used to guitar hero controller), but it still seems to be functioning correctly.

can't say much about the drums, haven't played with them enough

i played the rock band guitar until the whammy bar broke. i actually liked the stumming of the rock band guitar better than guitar hero's. the shape of the strum bar was easier to hold and it made it easier for up/down strumming i thought.

i also added one of those metal things from ebay onto the drum pedal...its so much better now...not afraid to really play and break it

my pedal has held up fine, but i absolutely hate the kickback on it for the expert songs with a lot of continuous bass notes. i heard it's easier with a metal plate, but i don't know if i want to pay an extra $20 for it. if the online bwt patch is true, i'll consider it. i haven't played at all in the past few weeks, but i guess i should start practicing the last two killer sets. it's more work than fun, though... sigh.

"During that section of GGAHT when it's Y-R-G-R-Y-R-G-etc... I use the solo buttons and have the index finger from my right hand holding down the green and use my middle finger from my right hand to tap the red and then my index finger from my left hand to tap the yellow. You don't even have to worry about the greens because the section is so fast you will get them as you tap the red as long as you have it held down, you just have to get the rhythm with the red's and yellow's and it's not too bad. That's the only way I've been able to get that section."

no other threads to reply to, so here's what little advice i have to give...

[GRYBO]

for the YRGR-YRGR section: 1) finger tap Y with righthand indexfinger, 2) pulloff to R with lefthand middlefinger, 3) pulloff to G with lefthand indexfinger, 4) hammeron with lefthand middlefinger, 5) repeat

no doubt it will take a lot of practice. i've been doing fingertapping exercises like this for years on real guitar, yet it still took me awhile to get down on rockband. i think what helped me on rockband was to press&hold Y 10ms longer (or slightly longer) than the other notes. i couldn't get the OBYR-OBYR section with any consistency whatsoever, i just got through it playing 3 of 4 notes. the sad thing is you need to get past these 2 sections without using overdrive, since you need to save it to get past the killer OBY-OBY section. i'm not the fastest guitarist in the world, but i'm a shredder. but this section is just insane.

i'm not all that glad i beat it, but i just wonder why harmonix would include a song that's 100x harder than all the other songs.

This DLC has sucked lately. I don't know if it is bad luck or what, but I just don't like any of the recent songs/groups.

this part i just figured out today, and allowed me to finally beat this freebird-esque song. i read this on rock band scorehero.

i'd fail every time i made it past the zigzags at like 96%. but for the OBYs just move down to the solo buttons and hold the Y w/ left hand index and tap OB with your right hand index/middle fingers. i passed it the first time i tried it (after a practice of course). i even combo'd it for a bit, it was ridiculously easy, just aim to tap the orange to keep the timing right. i suggest you try this, you will pass

^^ I've gotten frustrated with the little buttons, and havent put in the time needed to beat GGAHT yet.. but that seems like good advice

Ever since I've gotten hold of a mic stand, I've really had a lot of fun singing and playing guitar at the same time. I'm a lot better at it than I thought I'd be, I just wish I didnt have such a shitty voice

^^my voice is shit for asthetics, but once I figured out how different octaves register on the mic I got to where I can sing most songs decently on hard(while playing guitar on hard or expert, depending on the song)

it's pretty fun but if you just heard the track of my actual voice it would be god awful, fortunately you dont need to belt it out to score points

im so fucking tired of motherfuckers quitting early when i'm winning in a ranked match on live. i'll lose fucking 4 in a row and then when i'm finally winning one the bastard will quit like 90% into the song. this happens to me at least once a day. is harmonix going to do anything about this? the game should still count if someone quits early. they should let you finish it or something to still get the win.

^^ haha yea, i have the most trouble finishing tug of war matches.

i usually play the points duel thing. but yea, out of every 10 or so i play, one will quit early. i usually cuss and file a negative report on their ID. not that it really does much, but it makes me feel better.

they should make it so if someone quits, it auto counts the win to the person who stayed.. would be more fair.

though i am glad i tried the multiplayer mode out... it's actually pretty fun.

^yeah that's what i'm saying. most games have something like that. madden, for example. someone quits out early from that and it lets you finish against the computer to get credit for the win.

Rock Band has made me weak on the guitar. After playing it for a few months I went back to Guitar Hero and was horrible.

Got my replacement guitar yesterday and I don't like it as much as my original (which the strum bar was starting to go on). The new one's strum bar isn't as sensitive and the whammy bar might be busted already since it's not doing much unless I really press down on it hard. And there's also something rattling around inside (which sounds like a busted spring).

I'm not sure if my guitar or the box had a green sticker, but I'll check it Monday when I get back home.

Are you talking about the "spring" sound? My last one worked fine on the "star power", but it didn't have anything that sounded like it was loose/broken.

yeah accelerometers without a doubt do not need to rattle

does your iphone rattle? does your wiimote rattle? does any guitar hero controller I've ever used rattle for star power?

i just received my 2nd replacement guitar, pulled it out of the bubble wrap, and it's beat to hell, covered in something slimey down the middle of the body, and has dog/cat hair all over it.

WHAT THE FUCK

does anybody have the phone number for Rock Band bc i can't find it and i need to talk to someone NOW.

outside of the box has red stickers, guitar inside has green stickers.

I haven't noticed a lag, are you sure it's not your kit? I know it doesn't register some hit, but I associate that with the poor build quality.

Other than that, I can't help you -- sorry.

just played this for the first time.

guitar doesn't click (might on 360 this is ps3) buttons click down and are bigger.

can't seem to get my big 6'5 ass comfortable on the drums and need to get my limbs coordinated. can usually make it through on medium, especially if i've learned some of the song on irlguitar.

any tips ?

the higher up they are the better for me, but then sometimes on some songs i prefer them low to get into the song

try adjusting your height or the height of the drums
thats the best/easiest way to get it feelin right

as for the lag I mentioned, when i hit the drums and when I hear it on the speakers is like a .3 second delay and i dont know why, maybe it is the drums themselves

Im gonna send the guitar back soon tho, mines starting to randomly drop notes when i know i have hit them

k, update on my problem:

called rock band, talked to first guy, he asks how i want this resolved. i said "send me one that's not been refurbished, one someone else hasn't played before". he said they don't refurbish guitars b/c once you put the neck in the body it doesn't come apart then asked if the neck was connected to the body. yes it is. please hold for our escalation department.

lady comes on the line, sorry for all of this, don't know what happened. ship the slimy guitar back using the return shipping label. we are sending another. keep the broken one.

i am very satisfied with the results although i have not received the guitar yet (it is only monday). the lady guessed that someone send their guitar in, it got put in the wrong pile, and shipped to me.
