you all DID read my entire post right? And not just focus on that section.
8/4/2007 3:59:32 PM
who would not want to go to every game during the season?? especially your freshman yr... a statement like that concerns me with who we are letting into state. hell, atleast go to tailgate if you arent a football fan

Off topic, but if you had to join The Wolfpacker site or Pack Pride , which one is better?
8/5/2007 11:28:28 AM
Wolfpacker has always seemed sort of bland to me .. good info, and you can usually watch some free videos on there, but something about the site bores me.The overall layout of Pack Pride is, at least in my opinion, way better. The recruiting info is easy to track down and the moderators seem like pretty stand-up guys. But beware of the retarded/obsessed fans lurking on the message boards.
8/5/2007 12:55:28 PM
i joined pp b/c my impression of the two was that the scout site (packpride) was a lot closer to the situation. and it is run by genuine state fans. i really never checked out rivals though, so i could have made a terrible decision.
8/5/2007 4:05:06 PM
PP Premium is well worth it.

Sources say that Beck will be our main man by 2 games into the season or earlier ... And that stone is actually skilled as a TE, and will have a solid year for us (on the receiving side of things), but needs some major blocking help.Word came to me that evans was stinking it up in practice, with the 3rd stringers, throwing it at everyones feet.
8/5/2007 8:21:08 PM
is dat yo word? If Beck figured his accuracy out then he would be a beast. He has all the velocity and depth you could ever want already....
8/5/2007 8:48:19 PM
^^ I think that isnt true. Cause I say so
8/5/2007 8:58:44 PM
Yeah man ... thats what my source says, and he knows for sure, so its not friend of a friend ...Of course, thats his direct judgement from what he has seen in regards to everyday improvement thus far, and skill at the qb spot, which he should know about as a past starter for a bcs conference school.
8/5/2007 9:35:49 PM
your source says that???? well im totally sold now!!!!

Reveal your source or Bush will throw you in jail.Patriot act. Read it.
8/5/2007 10:11:32 PM
lol...wtf, your "source". Its 3 practices in, and if evans is throwing at peoples feet on the 3rd team, why would Beck be our man by "2-3 games in"......why wouldnt he be our man right from the start? LOL......"source"
8/5/2007 10:50:08 PM
pack pride definitely
8/5/2007 10:59:39 PM
I will go ahead and say my sourcesShane Montgomery said that Burke is the smartest QB he had ever seen as far as football IQ goes, his athletic ability just isnt up there YET and that Chuck was going to play Burke but after he got fired a few games into his losing streak that he wanted Burke to save his redshirt. Also stated that Beck is the real deal on deep balls and that his touch is superb although he didnt think he had the ability to be as consistent with the check downs and may try to force too much to make the big plays and be the star.Evans is mr consistent and the workhorse at the spot and is always there if the rest of the machine breaks down.there ya go, thats straight upand i think we all know Stone can catch and run it was just his blocking we were concerned with.heres something else you might be unaware of Eugene is making his way up the depth chart.
8/6/2007 12:27:20 AM
^if he corrects his fumbling, i would not be surprised. His cutting and running in the spring game was phenomenal. I'm not sure who he really reminded me of.....but he was awesomeRe: eugene
8/6/2007 12:53:06 AM
Eugene always seemed fast as shit, but it's hard to see how he fits in with baker, brown, and blackman
8/6/2007 1:29:38 AM
what does blackman have to do w/ it?
8/6/2007 1:31:25 AM
^a question i would also like to see the answer to
8/6/2007 2:06:01 AM
Blackman started out as a RB before moving to WR because we were so stacked at RB. If Eugene is going to get any PT, he's going to have to play a different position. The only problem is that blackman is already in the position that he might switch to.[Edited on August 6, 2007 at 3:18 AM. Reason : sdf]
8/6/2007 3:14:58 AM
^whos to say Eugene isnt better than Baker/Brown and THATS why hes moving up the depth chart?
8/6/2007 3:19:10 AM
8/6/2007 3:19:28 AM
^^ I'll believe that when it's more than just messageboard rumors.^ Brainless as always.
8/6/2007 3:22:54 AM
you don't change positions b/c players who are leaving before you are starting over you.why do you even watch state football? it's not the best football you could possibly watch.

8/6/2007 3:46:27 AM
so, for everyone with sources/pp premium accounts, who is the next person we are likely to heard any word from?any word on Coples, Abrams-Ward, Mackey, Adams, or Okohora? ]
8/6/2007 7:28:13 AM
I'd say Coples is Smurf bound I believe, he's stated his first concern is graduating, and since UNC hasn't had an ineligible player in 15 years, you'd have to think he's a lean there. Funny how they try to enroll guys that couldn't even land a 700 on the SAT (D Jones) but yet these guys will have 3.0's by the time they finish. BTW, Puff Thomas was ruled academically ineligible at whatever DII school he is currently enrolled, but no academic problems while at UNC, and he is 2 years older/wiser? now than at UNC!! Abrams Ward will probably wait a long time before pulling the trigger. I'd be thrilled if we got the Adams kid from Matthews
8/6/2007 10:46:56 AM
^^ with the big names already verballed to us it makes those guys decisions that much easier. Go with the flow and get to the bowls...
8/6/2007 11:23:31 AM
I dont have premium, unfortunately...I really would love to name my source, but his future may be in trouble if he started getting quoted online.I wasnt really intending to bring some brand new scenario into the mix (because I think every possible scenario has been proposed by someone already on here and PP). I was just trying to confirm what others have said, per the discussion I had with my friend yesterday. And as already mentioned... he thinks beck will need to win the spot as he becomes more comfortable with the offense. Evans has the starting experience, which is valuable. He says that right now, as TOB has mentioned, it is really an even race here at the beginning.
8/6/2007 2:23:25 PM
^ well thats interesting to ponder at least.... if Beck gets a rhythm with our offense then I would love to see him as the starter. He's the best athelete. I wonder what will happen to Burke if Beck is raised to starter? you know that Evans will be the backup because of his previous experience..... Burke to transfer? Factor in Glennon coming here soon and that makes it look all the more likely....
8/6/2007 2:54:09 PM
I don't think Abrams-Ward attended our camp. Coples did. I get the feeling no one really has a clue where either of those guys will end up.We could greatly use them both -- Abrams-Ward as a pass-rushing OLB in the 3-4, and Coples as a DE. Just going off of their bios, they seem perfectly suited for those roles.
8/6/2007 3:05:28 PM
^^ Don't forget Beck started at least one game while at Nebraska (I think). I remember him leading them on a big-game winning drive late in the season.I'm all for Beck as the starter. Like everyone else has said, the guy takes chances out there, but he has the arm to back those chances up. With our big/physical receivers, the deep ball would scare the HELL out of opposing secondaries. In turn, safeties would have to play deep, creating room our running backs to destroy defenses. And then there's the play-action pass -- which would eat linebackers alive.Idealistic? Yep. But it's August. Everyone is idealistic.
8/6/2007 3:11:32 PM
^indeed. I 2nd all of that with extra idealism!I wonder when Red Tom will tip his hat *officially* as to who the starter will be.... ??All of the national columnists think Evans, but that is soley based on the spring game [Edited on August 6, 2007 at 4:09 PM. Reason : sp]
