he's on my team too... and as long as he pitches like he did the last few outings, he can stay on the DL.He's on the 15 day DL, btw
5/3/2007 3:35:58 PM
They won't rush Wickman back as long as Yates and Paronto are pitching well along with Gonzalez and Soriano. I think Cox over used Wickman and then going to Colorado just sapped his fat ass. He tried to compensate for his lack of energy and over threw and pulled a muscle. Hopefully Cox will play matchups with his closers going forward (kind of like last night where Gonzalez pitched the 8th because Utley and Howard were due up).

5/4/2007 11:03:26 PM
now we just need the mets to lose a couple of games...
5/5/2007 1:47:03 AM
fucking mets will never lose Yates sucked ass last night. Still almost made a comeback in the 9th. Kelly Johnson is clutch. Hopefully we can win today's game and take 2/3 from the Dodgers.[Edited on May 6, 2007 at 12:47 PM. Reason : cb]

The one about making a silk purse out of Tsao's ear was pretty hilarious. I think it was Chip that said it.
5/6/2007 9:32:00 PM
7th inning was huge today though....and didnt happen because of the usual suspects. Salty, Woodward, Thorman etc. were big in that inning
5/6/2007 9:48:00 PM
chipper did not strike out in the 7th, horseshit call
5/7/2007 12:41:38 AM
^ That was a horrible call. I mean the bat barely moved at all. What was even worse was how quickly Bob Davidson ran Bobby out of the game. He threw him out before he even left the dugout. I know you cannot argue balls and strikes, but this was not like arguing an inside pitch or something. Chipper clearly did not swing. Thankfully it did not cost the Braves in the end
5/7/2007 9:28:32 AM
You can yell to the umps arguing balls and strikes (and they can still kick you out, depending on what you say). But as soon as bobby stepped onto the turf, he was out. You have to expect to get kicked out for that.Yea, it was a bullshit call, but Bobby should know better (actually he really doenst... I think he's like 5 behind the all-time leader in career ejections ).
5/7/2007 10:00:54 AM
I didn't even see the blown call on LaRoche's run in the fifth. That was worse than the check swing call. You can see his helmet come down and everything. Crazy bad.
5/7/2007 12:38:14 PM

5/8/2007 12:16:27 AM
Hey since the next 2 games are not on television around here I invite yall to come up to Damon's and watch the game. Plenty of Braves fans up there...and if I remember correctly Tuesday night is 2 dollar 16 oz Miller Lites. Team Trivia is also at 9 and the game is on. We got a good crowd starting to become regulars. Join on in and start your group.

5/9/2007 12:26:48 AM
This is going to be a battle all season. Let's go BRAVES!
5/9/2007 1:22:09 AM
Eh, the Mets have played like shit offensively most of the year and are still tied for first. Once Delgado and Wright start hitting and they actually fucking knock runners in from 3rd w/ less than 2 outs we'll go on a major run... We're lucky to be 20-12 actually in my mind. A bunch of needlessly close games against the Rockies and D-Backs... Of course the great equalizer might be the insanely hard schedule the Mets play in the summer. The only team in baseball history that has to play EVERY team that made the playoffs the year before.I'll stick by my prediction that the Mets win the East by 6-8 games. That's not trolling, just what I said at the beginning of the year..[Edited on May 9, 2007 at 11:31 AM. Reason : x]
5/9/2007 11:30:37 AM
^ You act as if the Mets are going to play a harder schedule than the Braves. Let's take a look:Both teams play basically the same NL schedule = WashIn interleague:Braves play the Red Sox vs. the Mess playing the Yankees = Sox > Yankees Braves play the Indians vs. the Mess playing the A's = Indians > A'sBoth play the Twins and Tigers = washThe Braves have the harder schedule. Also you act like the Mets should be playing better, but Maine will not win 26 games and Oliver Perez is still a inconsistent as hell. El Duque will continue to fall apart, Delgado is overrated/overpaid, Wright might just be in for a shitty season. While the Braves are playing well, they still have room for improvement. McCann has really struggled ever since getting hit in the hand about a month ago (not talking about the most recent incident which led to Salt getting called up), Andruw will start hitting soon, and we have had basically zero output from 1B and LF. Plus Mark Redman has been going out every fifth day for an automatic loss. I am surprised at your arrogance regarding the Mets. Yeah they are good, but they are not going to run away with the division.
5/9/2007 11:56:41 AM
I'm not trying to be a dick but how can I not think they'll be great again? A 97 win team with better pitching and a healthy LF who can actually hit lefties (the major weakness of a year ago) plus the continued maturation of Reyes (who I think has cemented himself as the best all around SS in the sport... at 23).The Braves have a hard schedule as well but they don't play the Yankees -- who will be healthy by the time they play the Mets -- at all, let alone 6 times and they don't play every AL playoff team. Plus the Mets play the NL West's best team two series on the road. I'm not just talking out of my ass, I've heard it mentioned more than a few times that the Mets have one of the hardest schedules in baseball history.I don't think Maine will keep this up obviously (just like Hudson won't). In fact I think he'll get his first L this afternoon...
5/9/2007 12:10:30 PM
^ The Red Sox are a better team than the Yankees.Who are you assuming is the best team in the NL West - the Dodgers?? We'll see at the end of the year.Who made the playoffs last year does not mean shit when we talk about this year's schedule. The A's are not as good this year as last. The Indians are a better team and the Braves have to play them plus the other two playoff teams (twins and tigers)Until you mentioned it here, I hadn't even heard of this talk of the Mets having a historically hard schedule. They obviously do, but it's not that much different from the Braves where it will impact which team wins the division. As for LF/1B, I expect Thorman to get better as the season progresses and even if it is Diaz/Wilson/Harris in LF, the Braves can expect better production than the 3 RBIs in April they got from Langerhans/Diaz. Basically the Braves have room to improve as well. The Delgado comment I threw out of my ass because just don't like him.I still expect the Mets to win the division because of Reyes and the experience in the lineup, but I think it will be dogfight all year because Cox >> Randolph.[Edited on May 9, 2007 at 12:40 PM.
