yeah, I wasnt posting that because I took your advice and it blew up in my face, I had taylor pinned as my starter long before I saw this threadI was just pointing out the fact that its just about impossible to be a "fantasy guru", you really never know whats going to happen
11/6/2005 7:23:36 PM
Wow...really regretting taking the advice of starting Heath Miller over Joe Jurevicius now...Im not dead yet, but I definitely need a big night from Mark Brunell and Reggie Wayne in order to catch up. That being said, Im going to go ahead and ask for pickup advice. Next week Im without Rudi Johnson and Antowain Smith (who I didnt start today, dammit) due to byes. I have Mewelde Moore and DeShaun Foster left, and with Michael Bennetts performance today its possible Moore wont start next week either. Bennett is still available, but it almost seems silly to play two backs on the same team. Also, my opponent is pretty weak (2-6, most likely to go 2-7), and I could probably beat him as is, and it does cost $$ for every move, but I also like having good players at every position.
11/6/2005 7:26:09 PM
Glad I didn't start Willie Parker and did start Leftwich.
11/6/2005 8:00:15 PM
yeah willie got hurtsucks for me. hopefully mcnabb will do something for me in the final 3 quarters
11/6/2005 9:17:43 PM
anyone i can trade Brett for, I have Bulger and Palmer so im set at QB and have Brett to spare, possibly wait another week...i need a impact receiver prolly, got R moss, Moulds, Curtis, Mason and Branch...as for RB i have Tiki and Lamont so im fairly set there, Kicker got Rackers...prolly my weakness is WR...i would trade for TO but dunno if he will play again, sure i cant get Smith...anything else out there to trade for?is this even a good trade[Edited on November 7, 2005 at 3:20 AM. Reason : .]
11/7/2005 3:16:48 AM
for week 11, i need to choose between my QBsBledsoe vs DETPlummer vs NYJPalmer vs INDBrees vs BUFkeep in mind that I can start 2 QBs in my league[Edited on November 7, 2005 at 11:22 AM. Reason : obviously Palmer is my best QB, however, IND is doing extremely well. How good is IND's defense?]
11/7/2005 11:21:35 AM
LT fucking killed me this week.I'm down 53 points, with Edgerrin James and Marvin Harrison left to play tonight...so there's still a remote chance, but very remote.
11/7/2005 11:26:38 AM
^^plummer and palmer
11/7/2005 12:13:02 PM
yep, LT AND stephen davis killed me this weekon top of the fact that not a single one of my offensive starters scored a TD this week...only td came from carolina' defense
11/7/2005 12:21:18 PM
^ hahah i had that same problem - if half my offensive starters had scored even once, i'd be winningand for the qb situation above, i'd go with bledsoe and palmer
11/7/2005 1:50:49 PM
anyone?
11/7/2005 2:43:39 PM
so no one is picking Brees huh[Edited on November 7, 2005 at 2:47 PM. Reason : is Buffalo's defense that good?]
11/7/2005 2:45:55 PM
their corners are pretty decent, and depending upon how LT does is why no one goes for Brees...his TD #'s arent gonna be that high with LT at the helms
11/7/2005 3:31:54 PM
so heres what i didI made an offer of Favre for S. Mossonce i get moss i think i may trade him and either branch or the other Moss in return for LT or Alexander, my Running game has been slack with LaMont and Tiki, then trade one of those remaining Rb's for a TE in shockey or Gates and finally be done, that is if everyone goes along with those trades which i thinhk they shouldthat would leave me with Bulger and Palmer at QB, LT/SA and LaMont at RB, Holt, Moulds Branch and Mason at WR and finally either TE i get with Denver and Jacksonville D, a pretty good high scoring team i thinkcomments?
11/7/2005 4:05:51 PM
11/7/2005 4:43:42 PM
^^ be wary of trade deadlines coming up
11/7/2005 5:17:03 PM
I gotta laugh at this guy in my league; here were his first five picks back in August:1: Culpepper2: Ahman Green3: Owens4: Michael Bennett5: Isaac Bruce
11/7/2005 6:40:51 PM
damn, he pwnt himself
11/7/2005 6:42:28 PM
Come on, Colts...James and Harrison have 20 points so far this half. Just 34 more to go for me to win...
11/7/2005 10:12:49 PM
decided to try and trade Favre and Tiki for LT, its worth it isnt it?he has no QB cept batch and Ben who dont put up Bretts #'s and with Tiki as a replacement, i think its possible he may go for it
11/8/2005 3:26:47 AM
^he would deserve to die if he makes that trade. Especially a few days after LT scored 4 TD's.Not to mention the fact that Big Ben should be back next week.Tiki is playing the Vikes D this week, he should go bananas... and LT has the week off. Good Luck with that.
11/8/2005 9:07:58 AM
need to pick oneD. Mason vs JAC or Mike Anderson vs OAK
11/8/2005 11:21:14 AM
Baltimore's passing game is terrible, and Oakland's D isn't that great.I'd say go with Anderson though be cautious because he'll be splitting carries.
11/8/2005 12:00:35 PM
ARE YOU SERIOUS?Andersons averaging about 100 yards and a TD.....while Baltimore is all around sucking ass.Boller should be coming back this week but who gives a shit!?!They were playing terrible with him @ QB anyway.dont think twice. START ANDERSON.
11/8/2005 12:59:22 PM
if it's a receptions league you might actually want to entertain the thought of mason.he already has more catches this year than all the ravens receivers combined last SEASON
11/8/2005 1:48:11 PM
this might be my most successful thread ever... either this or the Rivers on the Bench one
11/8/2005 1:51:53 PM
^dont be mistaken.its not our love for you that kept this thread going, its our love for fantasy football.this thread would have been here one way or another......with or without you. - The Fantasy Guru
11/8/2005 3:43:31 PM
yeah, it's more like "Everyone but Jaybee's" up to the minute fantasy news
11/8/2005 3:48:07 PM
well, on a fantasy note.T.O. publically apologized today in an attempt to try to come back to the Eagles as soon as possible.a player in my league has already dumped him, as many have in other leagues have as well. it would be fucking hilarious if he came back, went the fuck off, and none of the people who dropped him could pick him back up. It may eventually be worth looking into in your respective fantasy football leagues.
11/8/2005 3:51:28 PM
haha, fuck you all. There were plenty of other similar threads, but the double fact checking gurus I have working for me have impecible standards.
11/8/2005 3:56:26 PM
too bad you didn't hire some double grammar checking gurus as well b/c i don't know what a double fact checking guru is

Trade proposed to me:I get:Willie Parker (84 points in our league)Keanan McCardell (80 points)He gets:Domanick Davis (82 points)I'm ready to jump on it, but I am sort of worried about Willie Parker's status with him getting hurt last week and Staley playing well.
11/8/2005 8:59:12 PM
Houston won't be as run dependent with Andre Johnson coming back(90 yard performance first game back) BUT...Duce is back, and Bettis is on his way, when those 2 get back Willie will be put on the back burner. And McCardell has a good game here and there but is anything but consistent fantasy wise. I'd say stick with Domanick.
11/8/2005 9:49:17 PM
Yeah, that's my big concern. Also, McCardell has a bye this week, and Parker is out, so if I make the trade I will be in crappy shape for this week. I really could use McCardell, though, as my wide receiver corps are pretty thin. However, I did pick up Andre Johnson off waivers yesterday. Going to have to ponder this one a while.
11/8/2005 9:50:57 PM
If you have Priest Holmes, you may want to try and trade him for anything you can as fast as possible.
11/9/2005 9:43:11 AM
11/9/2005 10:17:33 AM
GET RID OF HOMES AND GET LARRY JOHNSON AS FAST AS POSSIBLE http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=fanball-chiefsholmescareerma&prov=fanball&type=lgns
11/9/2005 11:46:37 AM
the search feature sucks here, but in one of the threads before the season i said:
11/9/2005 3:07:16 PM
Yeah I acquired Larry Johnson last week because I had a feeling he'd start seeing more time with Priest hurt, but I had no idea it may be for season.
11/9/2005 4:06:50 PM
Deuce Staley (PIT)orLarry Johnson (KC)i need to pick one soon
11/9/2005 4:44:53 PM
larry johnson BY FAR...he's THE back in KC now
11/9/2005 5:30:37 PM
Larry Johnson is going to be one of the top 5 running backs in fantasy football during the second half of the season. Staley probably won't even be the starter when Parker comes back.
11/9/2005 5:31:18 PM
I traded Holmes and Houshmandzadeh for Torry Holt, but during the 2 day waiting period it got voted down by the rest of the league.
11/10/2005 9:03:05 AM
OK, I've been giving out advice to all of you all season long. Now, I'm asking for a little in return.3 weeks ago i picked up Larry Johnson off of waivers just in case something like this were to happen. I am in a 10 man league, and have been fortunate enough to have L. Tomlinson, J. Jones (hurt most of the season so far), Mike Anderson, and now Larry Johnson.I am in the #1 spot in my league, but i am willing to part with one of my running backs (excluding LT) for some great WR's or a great TE. (right now i have Holt, Porter, S. Smith, and McCardell @ WR, and H. Miller @ TE)i have been offered the following trades:H. Miller and L. Johnson for Housh and Gates alsoH. Miller and L. Johnson for H. Ward and Shockeyi can counter for the first and ask for Gates and Fitzgerald.i can counter for the second and ask for J. Galloway and Shockey.ARE ANY OF THESE TRADES WORTH MAKING, CONSIDERING WHAT STANDING I AM IN, AND THE GATES TRADE WOULD BE TO THE #2 GUY IN THE LEAGUE!?!?!?!sorry its so long......i just want some advice here.p.s. Housh and Gates both have a bye this week, so i cant make that trade today.....but i could do it on Saturday.[Edited on November 10, 2005 at 9:25 AM. Reason : bold and italics bullshit]
11/10/2005 9:24:04 AM
Definitely not.Torry Holt will be one of the best fantasy wideouts now that he is healthy, and you already have Smith who is the best fantasy wideout. With Tomlinson, Johnson, Smith, and Holt on your team, you should be pretty much cruising towards winning your league.
11/10/2005 9:46:36 AM
I'm so fucking pissed at myself for letting Larry Johnson go before the season started.
11/10/2005 10:23:25 AM
It would be nice to get Gates, but I agree, I wouldn't make either trade. Now that Holmes is out, you pretty much have another LT with Larry Johnson. Here are my start/sit decisions this week. Been a miserable year. I'm 2-7 after winning last week. 10-team league. I have 3rd most points and very close to leading the league in points. Both wins I have outscored the whole league. I have outscored everyone but the team I'm playing twice. Its ridiculous. I don't have a great team, but I have a very good, very consistent team. My division is terrible, so I have a very long-shot of winning it. Leader is 5-4. I'm just hoping to stay alive as long as possible. Anyway, I could go on.....its downright sickening to see teams win scoring like 80 or 90 while I'm scoring 120 or 130. One week I scored 150 and lost. I also lost Owens. I made a trade a while back for Ahman Green and handcuffed Fisher to him. I picked up Reshard Lee but didn't start him and kept my eye on the game. I wanted to pick up Gado during the game, but he wasn't on the site. Then they add him Mon or Tues on waivers and someone else picks him up. I did get Duce Staley, though, which could be pretty good. Ok....Chicago or Carolina (Chi plays SF, Car plays Jets)Eli or HasselbackJerry Porter? (I've got Finneran and Bruce right now, not a lot out there)I'm leaning to Chicago and Eli. I was thinking of picking up Nate Burleson. Chatman and Evans also available. Anyway, I just want to keep competing. If I someone could win this crappy division, it would make a very frustrating season so rewarding. If I was even just 3-6 now, I could prob. do it.There is a guy who is 8-1 and I have more points than he does. Nobody scores against him. He played against Tomlinson when the guy had neg. yards.....
11/10/2005 5:28:06 PM
Pickett is starting so stick with Chicago's D.Eli at home has been unstoppable, so I'd go with him.As far as WR's, yeah none of those guys look to be great plays this week. Nate will depend on whether or not Brad Johnson can keep it rolling. Chatman will get some looks but he actually has to hold onto the ball. Evans is iffy, Moulds gets more looks and McGahee gets the TD's, so that's a tough one.
