do you know when that will be? Is the transcript of the trial open to the public? I'd really like to read it.
6/25/2011 12:42:16 PM
could be as long as a year and yes.
6/25/2011 12:43:07 PM
damn that's a long time. can they file motions to expedite the transcription process?
6/25/2011 12:45:34 PM
Actually, could be as long as 18 months to 2 years. And you can't really speed up the transcript, the person has to type up every single day of a 10 week trial. It takes forever.

http://williamlanderson.blogspot.com/2011/06/framing-of-bradley-cooper.htmlThis is one of the bloggers who covered the Duke Lacrosse Case in detail. He's going to do a series on Cooper.
6/28/2011 10:03:11 AM
^^don't they have more than one person doing it?
6/28/2011 10:12:30 AM
Usually it's just one I believe, and it takes about 6 months to get the transcript for a trial of this length. It's not her/his only task.
6/28/2011 10:13:44 AM
Thanks for posting, I added him to my RSS and look forward to seeing what he puts out.

We are about the have the brad cooper website up and running with a list of all this stuff on it.Should be up in the next week.
7/7/2011 1:38:31 PM
Aaaaaaand a mistrial declared in roger Clemens perjury case because the prosecution let the jury see some inadmissable evidence... portions of some video evidence.SOUND FUCKING FAMILIAR?In Clemens case, no curative statements, AND a hearing sept 2nd to determine whether jeopardy attaches. If that's not some horse shit for brad cooper...
7/14/2011 12:40:34 PM
7/14/2011 12:42:45 PM
Gessner said "I can't do anything but issue a curative statement"But the same shit that happened for Clemens should have happened for cooper.
7/14/2011 12:45:52 PM
In fact, for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWmP-ZjcA6cAlthough, I think the title is misleading, I don't believe it was "mistakenly" shown in court. I think it was intentional.[Edited on July 14, 2011 at 12:47 PM. Reason : ]
7/14/2011 12:47:10 PM
The difference is pitching quality. Cooper could only get a router into shallow water, where boats can hit it.
7/14/2011 2:29:19 PM
as much as I hate clemens, it would be funny to see the feds pissed off if this gets thrown out.
7/14/2011 2:43:39 PM
wow. I just found out that Boz claimed "national security" in this case. really? Why the fuck did you use the FBI when you could have used anyone else?
7/16/2011 6:46:18 PM
wat?
7/16/2011 6:51:20 PM
^^Unless they were specifically trying to cover something up. CPD didn't have to send those computers to the FBI, they chose to. And like 2 weeks after they had seized the computers. And in the mean time, they say they never even looked at them. Can you believe that? I can't. You've got computers in a high profile murder case, where the guy is a techie, and you AREN'T looking in them? BS.
7/16/2011 7:38:51 PM
i mean, really... This is a random murder case in Cary, NC. Why the fuck did the FBI need to get involved? based on the other scummy shit the DA's office did in this case, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it just so they could claim "national security" in order to further fuck over the defense. It's a beautiful idea. "Hey, we can object to everything they ask because they won't know anything about it. Oh, and we won't let them know anything about it, cause it's 'national security!'"
7/16/2011 8:49:00 PM
The government does the same thing with 'War' on Terrorism prisoners.
7/16/2011 8:53:36 PM
yeah, but at least there is a tangible connection to "national security" in those cases, even if the claim is still bullshit
7/16/2011 9:01:47 PM
What's the alleged premise of this national security claim? What was the result? I'm confused...
7/16/2011 9:05:25 PM
The DAs argued that it would be a national security problem for them to turn over how the FBI got the results they did from the Cooper laptops. So, even though every other agency is required to turn over bench notes, lab notes, evidence logs, mechanisms, etc... they argued it would be a national security threat for the FBI to have to turn over the same thing. It would apparently allow millions of people to exploit child pornography. They didn't even get the results of a TEST performed on the machine, with the Cooper data to it.And the judge bought it, so... nothing but the end result of the tests for the defense. Basically "we say it's this way, just trust us how we got there, even if it doesn't make sense."[Edited on July 16, 2011 at 11:01 PM. Reason : ]

New web site is up as of a month or so ago to help out Bradhttp://www.justiceforbrad.comThere is a link to donate money if you would like to help offset some of the appeal expenses as well as info to send Brad mail. Also looks like several videos from the trial and stuff that the jury didn't get to see.

Whenever I aimlessly look at google maps now I think of Brad Cooper.
8/14/2011 10:53:03 PM
me too.
8/14/2011 10:56:20 PM
Why would anyone want to hellp him
8/14/2011 11:20:42 PM
because a lot of people feel justice wasn't served and that he's innocent
8/14/2011 11:21:35 PM
I had Google maps open the other day and avoided scanning over Cary like the plague. 'I ain't gonna get bradcoopered'
