My crystal ball says:UNC forces resignation of Butch Davis after official NCAA sanctions, UNC hires Jim Tressel

This was just posted on IC, called Texas Football and Institutional Control. Very good read. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=78&f=1408&t=7559749

^ love that this was posted on the IC boards... hope everyone over there gets to read before it is probably removed.
6/1/2011 2:07:38 PM
wow, what a great read. That dude really decomposed about every flimsy argument that's been made in the last 20 years regardless of program. Makes me admire what TX is doing from a compliance standpoint and I am sure that's how TOB runs the ship as well.

It's really not even that difficult. I have no idea why people keep bringing this 85 number up. At no point in time will an agent/runner/car salesman help anybody out that doesn't have a pro future, someone that can return the favor. Sure, the scrub may get a hundred dollar handshake at some point, but the real goods go to the good players. So out of an 85 man roster, you're looking at 10-20/tops who the program needs to keep an eye on. With 10 coaches and at minimum a 6 man compliance department (forgetting all the other people), it's ridiculous to keep hearing "it's hard to know what 85 kids are doing." If I were in charge of the NCAA, I would actually make a bylaw that states that any head coach/AD/Chancellor/President that uses the "I didn't know" or "It's hard to keep track of 85 guys" will be considered an NCAA infraction and is immedialtey punishable with a $50,000 fine to the school and head coach personally suspeneded one game without pay. Butch Davis and Tressel supporters are making it out like you've got 85 guys running around town (or the country in UNC's case) in 85 different directions with camouflage flying under the radar and how impossible it is to know everything. Well, when your players are rolling around town in 6 different cars without a valid license and others are Twittering it and posting pics on Facebook, it's not exactly a stealth mission designed to undermine your compliance department. It's blatant arrogance and a middle finger pointed right at the NCAA[Edited on June 1, 2011 at 2:56 PM. Reason : .]

Why the FUCK would OSU hire a coach from a school that's had the NCAA on campus the last year for violations after what they are going through now??
6/1/2011 5:00:05 PM
They obviously don't mind a little under the table cheating if it earns results.
6/1/2011 5:11:35 PM
Because butch has earned a lot of results...

i know that IC is roundly picked on and accused of being delusional, but you can tell the minor posters over there have really bought the narrative of the mods. this is so delusional its gonna butt hurt when its all brought to light (its gonna butt hurt me if it's not).

The judge in the case is Manning, of Manning St. in Chapel Hill, a law grad of UNC and family has donated $$$ to UNC. AND HE'S STILL TELLING THEM TO OPEN IT UP. This is pathetic on Baddour and Thorpe's part.
6/3/2011 10:08:41 PM
^ a judge from UNC law school should not be allowed to rule this... no wonder they get away with shit. Even if he is a perfect judge and goes by law and not bias opinions... bias will be there.
6/3/2011 10:28:42 PM
because everyone that goes to UNC Law School is a UNC fan.PAGING ActionPants
6/3/2011 10:37:11 PM
^ I agree with you in theory but this ain't basketball, and this guy is as old school as it gets. He's not going to risk his reptutation on Butch Davis, this is an educated man, not the walmart greeter that we see frequently on IC. I mean his name is all over the law school and on street corners. And in this state, if you go to any courthouse, political function, or any board of any significance, it's going to be crawling with smurf grads. But like I said, Roy and the boys ain't on trial, so it's not worth going to bat over for a guy with plenty to lose if his reputation came into question. Now the SOS, Bowles, and the 50% UNC grad BOG, yea, don't expect much out of them.

This is tangentially related but I noticed that a lot of people were like "Don't vote for UNC Law alum judges for the Court of Appeals because there are already too many on the Board of Governors anyway aaaaaargh" and this comes off a little paranoid. If I ever run for judge you fuckers better not vote against me just because I went to UNC (and wore a bright red suit in the student section of both the 41-10 game and the 29-25 game)
6/4/2011 11:35:34 AM
^anyone that crosses over UNC hate from sports to real life can safely be dismissed as wacko

6/4/2011 1:48:52 PM
^^ so basically 95% of this board?
6/4/2011 2:32:16 PM
I'm not that extreme, I judge based on the content of the characterbut it just so happens that most UNC fucks have a severe character deficit.
6/4/2011 2:53:32 PM
most UNC fucks have a severe character deficit
6/4/2011 4:40:00 PM
now a matter of semantics, do you mean all unc people are fucks and most have a severe character deficit, or just the fucks out of all unc people have a severe character deficit. this differentiation is important
6/4/2011 5:10:29 PM
The UNC people that I go to med school with are all okay people. They do all like to say, "if the NCAA investigated all the other schools out there they'd find bad stuff too." I just respond with, "yeah but your players are stupid enough to give them a reason to investigate."
