That's kind of a lot of RBs in one class...maybe Nichols is moving to slot receiver.

We've been gettin a lot of speed & versatility in this class. I like it.

Offers from Florida and Tennessee? Great! But he's only a 3* so TOB's terrible recruiting continues I guess.

Yep, impressive offer list. We're loading up at running back. Some good articles:http://www.wtoc.com/story/19354033/josh-mercer-wytoc-super-11-all-starhttp://recruiting.blogs.gatorsports.com/12947/gators-on-top-for-rb-josh-mercer/http://m.savannahnow.com/effingham-now/2011-12-22/mustang-joshua-mercer-named-offensive-player-year

he could be recruited by State. Its not like hes picked Tennessee or anything, hell, he isnt even in HS yet... seemed like the most appropriate thread.[Edited on September 25, 2012 at 10:47 PM. Reason : w]
9/25/2012 10:38:45 PM
he will be playing basketball
9/25/2012 10:48:44 PM
I'm surprised they let him play at that size. I know pee-wee leagues have size limits, but I guess middle schools don't.Hopefully he's kinda gentle at this stage in his life or he's going to hurt someone. I would quickly be-friend him if I were in school.

A bunch of big time recruits at the game tonight, would be nice to pick up a commit or two.
10/7/2012 12:57:23 AM
Ask and ye shall receive...Kyrin Priester just committed.
10/7/2012 11:44:18 AM
Huge!
10/7/2012 11:46:47 AM
This guy was once committed to UGA. Besides UGA, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, TCU, & Purdue also offered. Big WR at 6'2 185.[Edited on October 7, 2012 at 4:39 PM. Reason : damn autocorrect]

ESPN has him as the #19 WR in the country. Here's what they say about him:
10/7/2012 4:35:38 PM
Rivals has him as #70 WR in the country. Welcome to the Pack.
10/7/2012 4:48:42 PM
Scout/FoxsportsNEXT has him ranked as #93 WR. With legit offers from TCU, UGA and S. Carolina though, i'll take him. Film looks pretty good.

Anybody know what happened with Georgia? Did they back off? He was committed to them last spring.
10/8/2012 1:13:16 PM
I'll tell you what happened.FSU was number 3, we beat them...now we're number 3.Georgia lost to the number 6.We're officially better than them.

He sounds, indecisive...But then, he's a 17-18 year old kid and it's pretty understandable to make snap decisions when Spurrier or The Bulldogs are knocking on your door.Sounds like our coaches were more willing to be patient and stick with him through the process.
10/8/2012 4:42:17 PM
surprisingly great pickupWe need some more guys on defense (depth) and a couple more offensive linemen from now til signing day
10/8/2012 5:57:34 PM
I was just looking at our 2013 recruiting class, and we're really stocking-up on the offesnive skill positions (except qb). So far, we have we've got verbals from 5 projected WRs and 3 RBs. Of course, a few of them will probably end up at other positions. I'll be interested to see where 6'7" WR Pharoah McKever ends up (plays QB and Safety at South Columbus)
10/10/2012 9:49:15 AM
Who are you counting as the 5th WR? We may well get up to 5 if Jonathan Alston commits, but I count 4 right now. And I think having 3 RBs committed means Greene likely won't be back next year.
10/10/2012 3:35:34 PM
I'm just going by the depth chart in the PP recruiting thread, but: Cherry, Griffin, McDaniel, McKever, and Priester are all listed at WR.
10/10/2012 3:48:55 PM
We picked up a commitment from Malik Thompson out of Florida, he's listed as an OT but the staff recruited him to play DE:http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Malik-Thompson-141086
10/18/2012 3:19:49 PM
PP is calling it a "soft verbal".

Who the fuck is going to start at QB next year?
10/26/2012 1:29:11 PM
probably redshirt junior Pete Thomas.... or true sophomore Manny Stocker
10/26/2012 1:32:19 PM
^Thats the worst answer I've heard in 5 years.
10/26/2012 1:36:16 PM
Pete Thomas was highly recruited out of high school, and put up pretty good #s at Colorado St.http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Pete-Thomas-85295

word on the street is stephen rivers is unhappy being a backup at LSU for the foreseeable future, and is on track to graduate this year, and use the graduate transfer rule to come to state and start immediately.[Edited on October 26, 2012 at 1:40 PM. Reason : .]
10/26/2012 1:39:52 PM
not sure if serious, but...dude just graduated high school last year. No way he could graduate college this year.
10/26/2012 2:25:11 PM
If that Stephen Rivers rumor is true, then great. Sounds completely made up though.I still don't understand why any QB would want to play at LSU? Their offense is garbage nearly every year despite having 5* talent everywhere. Yeah playing SEC defenses hurts their ability to put up big numbers, but LSU's offense sucks even against the mediocre teams. It's clear that Miles cannot develop an NFL starting caliber QB. Matt Flynn is his best success and look at how unprepared for the NFL JaMarcus Russell was.[Edited on October 26, 2012 at 3:07 PM. Reason : sd]

Pete Thomas should do quite well next year. hate to burn mannys redshirt, he'll be a senior by the time he gets the reigns
10/26/2012 3:21:47 PM
true. The way I look at it, Manny enrolled in the spring semester, so he sort of got 1/2 a redshirt season.
