Yeah Seabron could definitely get POY if he continues doing what he’s doing. Honestly haven’t even watched enough of other teams to know who the main candidates would be.

Seabron made some crazy circus shots this game (and most games)

and Smith & Ross both had emphatic dunks! Ross's was especially nice.

I would argue Seabron is actually in the lead for POY right now. He just showed he can continue doing what he's been doing against two of the best defensive teams in the ACC (FSU and VT). He's leading the ACC in rebounding and is top 3 in scoring. He's also top 10 in FG%. And is just outside the top 10 in both steals and assists. At the moment, the only player remotely close to him is probably Alondes Williams (tops in assists and 2nd in scoring). They're currently tied for most player of the week honors with two each.

I think if we went .500 or better in the ACC he's a complete lock to win because only way we get there is with him continuing to dominate. And even if we completely bomb (like 2013 VT, 4-14 record -- surely we can do better ), he still has a good chance to win.

Pitt was awful last year and Champagnie finished tied for 2nd in POY voting. Seabron, if he continues this pace, will 100% be a serious candidate to win it regardless of what our record is. Erick Green won it when VT was awful. TJ Warren won it when we were a bubble team.

Idk if Seabron will win it. And a lot will change and become clearer in the next several weeks. But if he continues this, he’ll probably get a lot of votes and serious consideration.

Getting jerked around is the life of a Keatts bench guy. I'm not buying that Gibson is an upgrade over Ross. And even if he is a slight upgrade on defense, I would rather Ross get the experience here anyway.

Idk that he’s an upgrade over Ross. Ross definitely brings more to the table offensively. I just think in terms of size and build, maybe he’s a better match up vs Hall. Or at least that’s my guess for why he’s played more.

Seabron is definitely gone after this year.

So next year we are looking at a starting lineup in the fall of Pass (hopefully he can pass up Hayes), Terq, Morsell, Ebe/Ross/Gantt and some transfer yet to be gotten? That's a yikes from me dog!

Amazing we only lost by 5 when the bigs/Terq/Cam did next to nothing.

7 assists and 15 turnovers. Sheesh. Half court offense is just Gibson/Ebe setting bad screens, sometimes not even touching the guys, and Seabron making drives. We never change anything. Haven't tried zone in any of Keatts tenure, and Hall was destroying us inside.

^Yeah that's rough. Even if Keatts survives this year, there is almost no way he makes it to year 7. The lack of ACC caliber bigs, erratic substitution patterns, no changes seemingly occurring.

There were a few possessions of zone this game. One of our steals came from it. Everyone is pointing to bates not being there because we got abused inside, but we win this game anyways if anybody but Seabron doesn’t shit the bed offensively.

Sure would be nice having a second reliable scorer who can be another slash and kick guy. A nice 2 guard with some attitude to compliment Seabron. Maybe someone like that kid who plays the 2 at miss state. Man, if we had him we might win some games.

The fact that this program is 2+ years minimum away from even the chance of being good is the last straw for me on Keatts. Maybe he just has had shit luck and he will be a winner somewhere else. I hope so. There is no reason we should spend our first offseason recruiting outside of the NCAA cloud with a coach on the hot seat. Just hit the reset button.

The same could be said about the zone we pulled out in the first half that was effective. As long as Keatts is listening to the fans, how about sitting Cam down and giving Pass his minutes? We are way beyond “ slump” territory. Something is broken with his shot. He hasn’t been playing stellar D either. even if Pass is barely an upgrade at this point, give the minutes to the freshman. If we are gonna lose one of them to transfer, I’d rather it be Hayes.

My big takeaway is that it's crazy how much better we play when we actually have inspired movement beneath the basket... feels like that's not something we've really been doing well the last coupled years
