that’s an insult to Danny Woodhead

Offense has looked like shit save for 2 games this season so I don't mind shaking things up. Time will tell if this is a good trade, but in all honesty, Benjamin's best moments came during garbage time in his rookie season. He never really developed much and had trouble staying in shape/healthy.[Edited on October 31, 2017 at 5:28 PM. Reason : .]

Mike Rucker, Kris Jenkins, Steve Smith, Will Witherspoon, Ricky Manning, Travelle Wharton, Evan Mathis, Ryan Kalil, Charles Johnson, Gary Barnidge, Geoff Schwartz, Captain Munnerlyn, Brandon Lafell, Greg Hardy, and Josh Norman were pretty decent non-1st round Hurney picksHurney's successor on the other hand couldn't draft 1st round picks[Edited on October 31, 2017 at 5:35 PM. Steve Smith is a cancer
10/31/2017 5:58:03 PM
I actually like this. Fuck Benjamin. He's slow and looks like a WNBA player.Hopefully that's a wakeup call for Cam... probably not.
10/31/2017 9:54:12 PM
Steve Smith is the best player in franchise history
10/31/2017 10:06:26 PM
Nope.[Edited on October 31, 2017 at 10:32 PM. Reason : He's also a shitty human being]
10/31/2017 10:32:10 PM
Who do you think is better?I could see the argument that Kuechly has been better but Steve Smith played here for a long fucking time.
10/31/2017 10:42:16 PM
Kuechly and Peppers for sure.]
10/31/2017 10:49:20 PM
Peppers couldn’t wait to leave town...
10/31/2017 10:51:56 PM
Which has nothing to do with the fact that he's the best Panthers player of all time. Smith ended two teammates careers with sucker punches if you want to bring non-performance stuff into it. Plus he was a ballot/diva that kept the team from developing any other sort of WR.Smith made two all-pro teams, but only one at WR (returner as a rookie). Peppers made 2 with the Panthers as well.]
10/31/2017 10:56:02 PM
I'd still have Smith as #1 but he could be passed by Cam and probably Kuechly as long as he isnt drooling into a pan in a couple years
10/31/2017 10:56:46 PM
there’s a difference between most talented and best player in franchise historyI don’t give a shit about All-Pro votes. if he plays in a bigger market he gets more All-Pro votes each season. he was one of the best recievers of his generation and had below-average QB’s for the majority of his 13 year career with the team.
10/31/2017 11:03:08 PM
might as well say Reggie White if Peppers is allowed to play half his career in the NFC North but still be considered the best Panther of all time
10/31/2017 11:25:44 PM
that was going to be my next retort, kind sir

8th all time in Receiving yards12 all time in receptionsSteve Smith currently holds 72 Panthers franchise records

Smith WILL be in the HOF
11/1/2017 9:47:00 AM
Maybe, but it'll be a long time. WRs who deserve the HOF before Smith - Terrell Owens, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, Chad Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald. And that's just off the top of my head. Smith is more in the tier with Andre Jonson and Reggie Wayne that's behind those guys. He's basically your Dale Murphy. A good long career (and one great year in 2005), but never an extended period of dominance at the position. There are so many elite WRs currently eligible and coming up to be eligible that if he ever gets in it will be a long time from now.
11/1/2017 10:25:29 AM

^Yeah but it's not like they have to take a set number of WRs each year and there aren't guys already lined up ahead of him. And Steve Smith is 100% not a "first ballot HOF'er". The HOF voting is going to be really interesting in the next several years. You're going to start having a ton of guys becoming eligible and some are going to have to wait a while. I mean it took Marvin Harrison 3 tries before he made it and I'm still not sure if TO will make it given his off-the-field antics rubbing voters the wrong way. But what do I know, I thought Kurt Warner had no business being in the HOF but sure enough he made it in after 3 tries.
11/1/2017 1:42:55 PM
Marvin Harrison has had people killed, but at least he never got into a fight with a teammate
11/1/2017 2:15:29 PM
BREAKING: PANTHERS RE-SIGN ALL TIME GREATEST PANTHER BRENTON BERSINI love you Marty HurneyAnd yes, Chad Johnson was a better WR than Steve Smith. That is a fact.]
11/1/2017 2:46:46 PM
Jesus Tittyfucking Christ...WHY?
11/1/2017 2:50:11 PM
^^ Numbers seems to lean towards Smith being the better receiver but you don't like him because he beat up two teammates. I get why you don't like him as a person, it makes sense. But Chad Ochocinco beat up his wife or girlfriend so you may want to reassess.
11/1/2017 2:56:18 PM
^all of sgb's fantasy players always ended up being wife beaters, so he would know. Football and baseball actually.

Chad Johnson was better because he didn't play in a run-first offense. Got it.Smith led the league in receiving yards one year while the Panthers were dead last in pass attempts. You're just a hater.
11/1/2017 5:11:56 PM
Steve Smith was an excellent run blocker also, which is why he was so valuable on a run-first offense. I can't think of a more valuable Panther over the course of their career, although Cam and Keuchly will likely pass him in that regard IMHO.
11/1/2017 6:45:34 PM
shouldve cut stewart

Offense has looked decent those last couple drives.
11/5/2017 2:27:09 PM
wow I was thinking thank god we didn't get rid of CAP earlier in that game, hopefully those fumbles were just a fluke for stewart, also christian had a nice run between the tackles but still would like to see him run ot the outside more
