But the argument is the average ignorant Trump support won't know the difference between a fundamentalist and just a regular person of Islam walking down the street. They'll see a burka and go straight to "git outta my cuntry," according to the likes of UJustWait.
11/28/2016 10:03:47 PM
anecdote: my half white half Chinese friend was told to "go back where she came from" on her corner in Brooklyn. We assumed he didn't mean "go back to Seattle" but who knows!

Wouldn't libs be not be down with the Muslim faith because it denounces gays?
11/28/2016 10:50:18 PM
That's not how it works, but coming from someone who uses the term "libs" I'm not surprised you're missing the point.
11/28/2016 10:52:05 PM
so how does it work?
11/28/2016 10:52:46 PM
we should take all the Christians and the Muslims and send them to Mars to start a new planet to be assholes on.

Wouldn't cons be totally down with the Muslim faith because it denounces gays?

So Trump retweets a 16 year old kid spreading misinformation:https://twitter.com/JeffreyGoldberg/status/803433428888776705Trump picks a guy for HHS that wants to dismantle medicare and medicaid-- but otherwise very swampy.
11/29/2016 1:14:27 AM
This is not okay.
11/29/2016 7:51:46 AM
AgreedBut I personally think there is a strong chance this is just to distract from the other stupid shit he said earlier in the week(about illegals voting). The press started hammering him on it, so he decided to start the news cycle over with (what I hope is) a throwaway comment he'll possibly never bring up again.
11/29/2016 9:12:17 AM
A throwaway comment? Doubtful. His supporters have already latched on to it, like they've latched on to their flags. Besides, this is just one more comment in a string of comments he's made over his political tenure regarding the restriction of free speech. As much as I'd like to smack people I see stomping on or burning flags, it is certainly within their rights to do so. Jesus this is terrible.
11/29/2016 9:17:34 AM
Man that guy just cant stop from staying stupid stuff on twitter can he?
11/29/2016 9:23:49 AM
There are five tenets to the first amendment: freedom of religion, speech, the press, assembly, and petition.Donald doesn't seem to respect any of them.
11/29/2016 9:25:17 AM
Sure he does. Freedom of religion for Christians, freedom of speech for nationalists, freedom of the press for FoxNews and Breitbart, freedom of assembly for Trump supporters, freedom of petition for voter fraud against him.
11/29/2016 9:38:37 AM
It's ok though guys, at least we didn't elect someone who deleted some emails! Really dodged a bullet there!
11/29/2016 9:48:56 AM
Ya know I remember talking to some people a while back and saying how I thought that one day people will look back and realize that we were living during the peak of human civilization. I stand by that statement as it seems all downhill from here haha.
11/29/2016 10:24:01 AM
Whatever guys. If you read r/the_Donald daily like adultswim does, you'd know that Trump poses no real threat to the first amendment. Such overreactions [Edited on November 29, 2016 at 10:35 AM. Reason : .]
11/29/2016 10:34:39 AM
That subreddit must have changed a lot. I do trust adultswim since he does seem to not let biases get in the way of fairness but last I read it was during the primaries and it was an utter cesspool.*** The Trump tweet about the flag is EXACTLY what scares me the most about him. He is absolutely an authoritarian who can admit wrong. JCE, I don't want to trigger you, so am I allowed to mention his ridiculous authoritarian position on the Central Park Five?
11/29/2016 10:52:13 AM
Everyone on /the_donald is convinced he's playing 11th dimensional chess with the media and "libtards." Also that he's baiting Hillary into speaking out against it even though she has sponsored anti-flag burning legislation in the past. The fawning for trump over there is just too much. Where are the trolls? Or is there that much moderation on Reddit?[Edited on November 29, 2016 at 11:04 AM. Reason : I avoid Reddit at all costs but will prob sign up and start trolling tonight.]

11/29/2016 11:08:49 AM
Not uh! It expressly forbids bigotry. It's a safe space to reasonably discuss brown terror suspects and how to stop the cucaracha invasion from Mexico. You should read it it daily and filter the comments to see how real alt-right folks think.[Edited on November 29, 2016 at 11:15 AM. Reason : .]

11/29/2016 11:21:54 AM
And that was a stupid proposal by Clinton, however Trump is suggesting that burning a flag is grounds for revoking one's citizenship. Not quite the same.

Can someone explain how this ^ (or spending at any other Trump property) differs from donations to the Clinton Foundation?
11/29/2016 8:02:30 PM
I would argue it's far worse in terms of potential conflicts of interest. As has been debunked ad nauseum the Clinton's weren't using the foundation as a checking account. It actually was a charity foundation with a pretty good (great?) track record. But optics.[Edited on November 29, 2016 at 8:07 PM. Reason : But we should stop. Trump loses 1000 jobs in Indiana :http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/11/29/carrier-says-it-has-deal-with-trump-to-keep-jobs-in-indiana.htmlThis is a good win for Trump, looks like the parent company gets 10% of their business from federal contracts and this was used to pressure them to only fire half the employees rather than all of them, in addition to other incentives and tax breaks. I suspect this doesn't really translate well into a broad job-creating policy, but I suppose more public-private partnerships could be more effective than welfare to keep people out of poverty.

^ that's antithetical to Trump's campaign promises, but big banking has been all up in the treasury for years now. That's more status-quo.^^ i know, i'm just trying to be optimistic It will be interesting to see what knobs they twist and if they basically just ended up throwing money at Carrier at the behest of their competitors/taxpayers, or did they make some arrangement that could be translated to all companies/corporations.[Edited on November 29, 2016 at 11:03 PM. https://twitter.com/johnjharwood/status/803955486429159424So trump, unsurprisingly, is abandoning his campaign tax plan for a be tax plan that is essentially a bit more progressive than the current tax plan, assuming they keep the same top end brackets.

If poverty is determined by household earnings (under ~$11k), how are you going to argue non-cash assistance helps that?Jobs and opportunities fix the problem, not policies that breed dependence and destroy family structure.
