I DO keep it to myself, except on an anonymous web forum. I understand how to function in a society and hopefully not be an overtly hateful person. I guess I'm mainly seeking to understand whether it's common even among the liberal and conventionally well-educated to have greater difficulty identifying with these particular issues, and indeed whether there's an undercurrent of annoyance at the increasingly farcical expectations for accommodation of the most extreme edge cases. I'm not homosexual, but I can understand and be at peace with it. I haven't been able to make the same leap with transsexualism, and wondering what I'm still missing, or what's wrong with me as a person that I simply can't relate to or rationalize this. Poorly-conceived internet jabs aside, I can treat a trans person with respect and basic human dignity, but I feel no need to start adding pronouns to my E-Mail signature in solidarity. If I have this much trouble, how do we hope to ever capture the hearts and minds of Joe Blow Redneck? This seems like a bit of a progressive blind spot. I'm not saying stop attempting to advance the cause of equality, but don't act like it should be such an easy and natural thing to accept.

And I do think the competitive sports angle is a real minefield with many unanswered and unclear questions that run a real risk of unfairly adversely impacting biological women. I mean, edge cases should cut both ways, right?

So can we talk about how the pandemic has led to these super champions. I am guessing they aren't doing the screen tests like they used to, meaning contestants don't get a trial with the buzzer so when the show is live its their first experience with the buzzer and the light to when you can ring in. Since a lot of how you win a Jeopardy in addition to fast recall, is fast reaction. Obviously the more practice you get the better at it you get, which may coincide to this run of super champions.

Obviously Amy, Matt, and others are smart in a wide range of categories but it seems to help that they have more buzzer practice. Also do you think they are rigging contestants so they can get a long champion run especially with the host controversy? Amy is getting similar press that Ken and James got.

I do not care for Mayim. I think she comes across as too fake, and she pauses too long sometimes. I think it throws the contestants off, they think they said something wrong because she doesn't immediately say "correct" (I know it throws me off). I like Ken much better.
