I think Mike Rose will do well for himself. Kids a gamer.

Shad was definitely a good running back. He might not have anything that sticks out on paper but he just had the "it factor" when running the ball. Ran with some power for his size but also had some elusiveness

Lol. A sub 6 minute mile is completely believable. Practically anyone who was on a soccer or cross country team is capable of that. Or who just puts in a few miles a week as a hobby.

That said, most people are also lying about their mile time, bench press, etc also. The difference is they did have the genetic potential to bench what they said or the adaptI've capability to run a mile in that time.

A 4.68 puts you in the 90th percentile so immediately red flags start going off on self reported claims below 4.7.

4.62 puts you in the 99th percentile in the 40.

So 4.5 is probably more like 1 in 1000.

And since those times above are usually off by like half a second due to stopwatch vs laser.

I just assume anyone who says they can break 5.0 in the 40 is misinformed about the legitimacy of their reported time

it's not running that speed that's most impressive, it's doing it at the size of some of these guys.
i was fast in high school (a little track, football, wrestling) and could beat those sprint times but i was 135-145 lbs

of course those numbers are just as long gone as those days now

these guys running sub 5's at 200 lbs... that's nutso

4 NFL QBs since 2000 and we have a gator bowl and a parade to show for it, and that happened in year 3.

Was listening to Mike & Mike the other morning & they said something to the effect of "6 QB's were taken in the draft's first 3 rounds, which ones do you think have a legit chance to start". They then discussed each and every one of them, except for Jacoby.

It's not like I think he gets a chance to start in NE, but the minute I heard them start talking about that I knew Jacoby was gonna get left out.

Well Jacoby is probably the only one that is locked in as the 3rd stringer.

The only chance he starts this year is either Garoppolo gets hurt in the first 4 games, or both Brady and Garoppolo get hurt at the same time later in the season.

He weighed in at 217. That's not big, but it's not exactly small. He timed slow, but he actually has a lot of burst when he hits the hole. He sort of had a reckless style though. Going to get him killed in the NFL

Sounds like Thuney is crushing it for the Pats in camp and has a legit shot at starting for them at LG.

Jacoby Brissett played the 2nd half for the Patriots last night though. Nothing exciting, but he didn't fuck up, either.

Thuney graded out week 1 of the preseason as a top 5 LG per PFF, so curious to see how he grades out this week.

I still don't see why he wasn't more coveted in the draft, he was an All-ACC LG and then an All-American(per PFF) LT, so he excelled at 2 positions but physically makes more sense at LG. I guess OGs aren't as highly drafted, but I always expected him to end up pushing to start wherever he landed if he stayed healthy.

Mario just seems like a dude on cruise-control the last few years after making a ton of money.

I'd love to see the Panthers bring him in on a 1-2 year deal that was affordable and full of incentives.

^ lol.

Bears > Jets or Browns.

Wish he was a target for Houston or Denver, but neither team probably sees him as an upgrade over what they have (or not for $15M).

Supposedly MG was offered $7M to be Brees backup in NO. Rivers and MG going full circle.

So MG to Bears at $14.5M. People losing their minds over this.

Also Hauschka to Bills for like $3M per. Kicking in Buffalo is not easy. God speed my friend.

The value of a QB is immensely greater than any other position. MG hasnt played in 2 years, but he wasnt bad on a truly awful TB team when he did play.. The GMs in the league realize he is worth the gamble even if the talking heads just want to get a shitty obvious hot take.

He's only going to be like the 25th or so highest paid qb in the game. It's not insanity at all. Just market value.

yeah it's wild to think how much money these unproven commodities are making...but it's not totally out of line with the rest of the QBs in the price range.

the QBs he'll be making more than are either still on their rookie contracts, or are back ups/fringe starters (Fitzpatrick, McCown, etc).

interesting. hope he makes the team.

if the panthers keep 5 WR:
Benjamin
Funchess
Samuel
Russell Shepard
(all these are locks to make the roster IMO, too soon to give up on Funchess)

Graham will probably be fighting an uphill battle (along with damiere byrd) versus Charles Johnson for a spot. I think this is the year that Brenton Bersin finally doesn't make the team. If they keep 6 (not counting Joe Webb), I think he has a little better chance, although Keyarris Garrett will also be in competition for that spot.
