I don't see why State can't win out.

Well... Obviously... we need to win out. But we want MD to beat FSU regardless next week. That way we could lose to UNC and still make it.

the only two ways we make it to the ACCCG:1. We win out2. We lose to UNC, maryland beats FSU, we beat maryland
11/14/2010 7:20:00 AM
So let me get this right...^if scenario #2 played out... that would make our record 8-4 going into the ACCCGif we won that, we would be a 9-4 team going to a BCS game... there have only been 3 other times when a team with 4 losses has gone to a BCS gameFSU did it twiceVT did it oncecoincidentally, ACC teams... In the 2003 Sugar Bowl a 9-4 FSU team lost 26-14 to a 12-1 Georgia team. In the 2006 Orange Bowl an 8-4 FSU team lost 26-23 to a 10-1 PSU team. In the 2009 Orange Bowl a 9-4 VT won 20-7 over an 11-2 Cincinnati team. There have been a number of 3 loss teams that have played in BCS games too.[Edited on November 14, 2010 at 9:40 AM. Reason : ]

Any ACC rep will likely be a better and higher ranked team than the Big East champ. A 5-4 Pitt team leads the conference. Syracuse and USF are the only conference teams that don't already have 4 losses (each has 3).
11/14/2010 9:42:36 AM
I'm sure the NCAA powers that be are getting excited over a potential NCSU v Syracuse BCS game.
11/14/2010 9:56:39 AM
^haha, they probably aren't..but they should be...and here's whyif we go to the acccg, it will probably sell out for the first time in historyand if we go to the orange bowl, over half that stadium will be red, easily! remember the gator bowl? we packed that place...and the orange bowl would be even betterso in terms of TV ratings, they probably aren't excited...but they will make bank
11/14/2010 10:08:20 AM
Well we play at noon next week and FSU-MD play at 8 pm so we will already know how we need that game to turn out. Hopefully we just win 41-10 again and dont even have to sweat it.
11/14/2010 10:29:06 AM
it is amazing how we always get noon or 2PM weird games and FSU always gets primetime
11/14/2010 10:33:29 AM
god dammit how can you be a sports guy and not know that the Big East isn't tied to the Orange Bowl (or any BCS bowl)the BE winner will be the last team selected, meaning they're going to the Fiesta Bowl who has the last pick this year

^x3 Not really. Despite not winning the conference since 2004, FSU is still seen as one of the ACC's power teams. We last won the ACC since 1979. They are still seen as one of the elites of college football and that shows in their recruiting. They have a large national (aka bandwagon) fan base. We don't have that. Despite what we know to be true, when the rest of the nation sees FSU and Miami struggling, they perceive the ACC as weak, even though it could be that other teams in the conference are strong and they just suck. Once we win the conference, stay around as a contender, and become a consistent bowl team, then we'll start getting the better kick-off times. No more Pam Ward specials.[Edited on November 14, 2010 at 10:44 AM. Reason : ^]

^^^ Dude WTF spaz much?Nobody said the Big East was tied to anything, it was just a joke about the teams that could potentially be in the BCS this year and then a light-hearted comment about how we'd fill up the orange bowl(Nobody said the Big East would play the ACC in the orange bowl). Wow, had a bad night or something?[Edited on November 14, 2010 at 10:45 AM. Reason : .]

i would love to see us get pounded by Wisconsin, or TCU, or Boise State in the Orange bowl.our recruiting would go through the roof, even if you get absolutely destroyed.who the hell is gonna care if we beat pitt or mississippi state in a tire bowl?

has anyone mentioned ITT that TJ Graham is really bad
11/14/2010 11:12:19 AM
^^we get them b/c the best teams always play at noon literally right after breakfast. sometimes no breakfast at all b/c you will have no time to get warmed up if you waste it eating ^ no. b/c kid has 3 or 4 games to redeem himself this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3On_ONxB98Mlet's hope he has saved one of those for UNC [Edited on November 14, 2010 at 11:18 AM. 11/14/2010 11:17:02 AM
he has only muffed 4 punts in the last two games?why the hell is he still on the field for punts??how many dropped passes is he going to be allowed to have before someone else gets a chance on the field?
11/14/2010 11:23:50 AM
^ i agree. but it's hard to take him out b/c of what his potential is and how incredibly fast he can be. i'd keep him in too if i had him on a team. (yes he obviously has to work on his punt catching, he dropped like 2 or 3 yesterday it was horrible) but keeping him on the field (even as a decoy) is far more valuable than benching the guy for some slower kid with a lot less experience. you just don't take your most talented athletes off the field is all i'm saying. i hope he shows up strong the next few games.
11/14/2010 11:29:52 AM
we can beat unc and maryland. i think we have this in the bag

seriously, wtf is wrong with Graham?
11/14/2010 1:50:48 PM
you remind me of this random state fan at the GT game that was sitting beside me, he kept asking normally-rhetorical questions but would look at me like he was waiting for an answer

he was like "how huge was that punt block? huh? tell me how huge that was"
11/14/2010 2:16:57 PM
i know it was against Western Carolina and all, but that play where he catches a slant and goes across the field for a TD... what was that? some kind of test play to see if it would work? he's dangerous for sure but because we have a good QB and good receivers, the defensive secondaries for every team have played us deep, which is why ive been really frustrated with us going vertical when we have guys with speed that could just as easily burn people getting open going east and west.
11/14/2010 2:35:39 PM
^you should have just said "Tommy Lee huge dude, Tommy lee huge"

It's nice to see WF back in the ACC cellar where they belong. Also, I really liked the way the back-up kicker and Glennon looked.
