I would have to say that I was really not dissapointed at all. GT is a good team that plays well down low. We out-boarded them, and ended up making the game obtainable being down 16 with 5 or whatever to go.What did us in at the end was when we would miss to tie or take the lead, we stupidly fouled with angry fouls. Luckily we had a chance to win or tie. But good job being right there against a tough road test. I wouldn't be surprised if this team went on a little spurt to finish the season.

Other teams miss shots, but they get rebounds, too.You want to increase the probability of scoring from an open 3 by having board coverage. In fact, having board coverage makes shooters more confident shooters, increasing the probability of hitting the shot.I would say that in general, the probability of hitting an open 3 should be the lower limit probability that your offense generates. Fast breaks, dunks, putbacks, layups, short shots are all how good offenses do most of their scoring.

we need to become a pressing team. we have almost the same roster as clemson and look good running that press. we presesed the whole duke game and tend to go on huge runs when we press at the end of games. plus it gets us in a rhythem on offense instead of this stagnant shit i'm seeing. Why does nobody move in our offense? it doesnt make sense to stand around while trying to post smith up and the only way to get an open shot is if somebody cheats. wood should be constantly moving and so should horner. its just bizarre. it takes us 20 seconds just to get into anything.

^^ well one major problem with rebounding is when your power forward shoots 3 pointers there's no one under the basket, but im preaching to the choir there

^Our press looked terrible against Maryland. I think selective use of the press is the way to go. As much as I love Clemson's press they are a one trick pony with it. If you can break their press they have a hard time winning.

i definitely agree that we should not run it every game all game. and not even every game. and i agree that part of the reason why it is usually so successful is exactly because it is unexpected. but we've used it what...a total of 5 times all season? and besides the maryland game, it's worked wonders every time.

Actually I think we have used it in every single game since Winthrop. We usually only use it a bunch if we are down pretty big late.

we usually only use it at all if we are down pretty big late[Edited on February 10, 2010 at 9:43 AM. Reason : except duke]

not true at all we use it pretty much every game at different times in the game. It will only be one or two times unless it is really working (like duke).

whoa. that is not true in the slightest, sir.

Why don't we switch discussion to the current thread...
