We play Toronto on Friday, so I guess it'll be a battle for the worst team in the NHL that night!
11/1/2009 7:48:59 PM
11/1/2009 7:50:14 PM
^^ If we lose to them in OT then we'll just be tied for last.
11/1/2009 9:20:49 PM
^^ they're thinking about each other^ if the monster plays we'll score twice at best ]

There comes a point when a "veteran" team becomes just an "old" team. I think it's pretty obvious right now that our team is indeed a step too slow on offense and on defense. It's time to call up the young guys and sit out the veterans. The fans should at least get a glimpse of the future in this lost season.
11/2/2009 7:57:50 AM
They will after March 3.
11/2/2009 9:36:21 AM
Lots of news.
11/2/2009 11:21:55 AM
I love how direct JR is.

Harrison on waivershttp://twitter.com/TSNBobMckenzie
11/2/2009 12:33:54 PM
Hockey confession time. I've been into hockey for a decade now (fan, playing, reffing, scorekeeping, you name it) and for the life of me I still have no idea what waivers are.
11/2/2009 12:48:27 PM
Basically, we make him available to every other team for free. They can put in a claim for him over the next 24 hours. If nobody claims him, then he is still our property. We would then have the ability to send him to the minors. If we call him back up from the minors, he must go through waivers again. But this time, another team can claim him for only half of his salary(we pay the other half).
11/2/2009 12:54:22 PM
That's about what I've gathered from hearing "picked such and such up from waivers" but then I would hear things like "...has cleared waivers" and wondered if there was more to it than I initially thought. Thank you very much. So like last week we put Yelle on waivers but then I saw that he had ice time in yesterday's game. I was a bit confused.
11/2/2009 1:13:32 PM
Harrison is on a two way contract, so once he clears waivers (no way anyone out there is dumb enough to claim him), we will most definitely assign him to Albany I would think, and we will save $325,000.
11/2/2009 1:46:03 PM
Staal week-to-week with hurt feelingsJussi centering first line
11/3/2009 12:03:28 PM
^ i'm sure staal is legitimately injured. He is one of the NHL's "iron-men" If he misses tomorrow it will only be the second game he has ever missed in his career.not to mention he had (has) the second longest active games streak in the nhl.He may not be producing, but that boy is tough as nails
11/3/2009 12:19:10 PM
it was a joke. lol
11/3/2009 1:53:53 PM
Harrison assigned to Albany
11/3/2009 4:14:36 PM
From SB Nation:http://www.canescountry.com/2009/11/2/1111125/is-chad-larose-being-shopped
11/3/2009 5:02:35 PM
yeah, I'm gonna feel like a real asshole when they do it, tooI heard an interview with JR while in the car yesterday and while without mentioning him by name, he sounded like he regretted re-signing him over the offseason
11/3/2009 5:17:00 PM
im pretty sure that western conference team is detroit....detroit boards were heating up about larose right before the season
11/3/2009 5:30:30 PM
Los Angeles is another possibility.
11/3/2009 6:01:38 PM
LaRose + Whitney for Williams???
11/3/2009 6:26:35 PM
knowing JR, probably larose for eaves if its detroit
11/3/2009 6:42:44 PM
I, too, have a LaRose jersey and hope it isn't him. I'm all for us shaking things up, but put the LaRose-Cullen-Whitney back before screwing things up. Trade just about anyone else is fine, but see if that line can get the chemistry back against Toronto. If we lose bad to Toronto, a shakeup is definitely needed. I wish we would've kept Seidenberg and Eaves over getting Ward, but too late now.
11/3/2009 11:26:23 PM
Frolov?
11/4/2009 9:49:26 AM
if it makes this team better, they can trade everybody on the team i have a jersey for. it ain't shit to strip a jersey and put another name and number on it, or get another one.i highly doubt we're in the market for frolov, seeing as how i doubt they want our old parts on their young team, and i would hope that we're not willing to give up our future talent.
11/4/2009 10:14:57 AM
Timetable for Staal is now 2-4 weeks.
