I AM GOING TO RUCKUS IN A MINUTE!!!!!!!
12/31/2009 10:53:49 PM
Almost here!! Can't wait to come home from a bar and not having to take a shower before I go to bed.
1/1/2010 8:43:20 AM
Not take a shower? Are they banning the smell of sweat, piss, alcohol, pheromones, and cheap cologne/perfume, too?
1/1/2010 8:53:53 AM
I've never come home smelling like piss... What shitty bars do you go to? Or do you get so drunk you piss yourself?
1/1/2010 8:55:53 AM
Yeah, no bar ever smelled even the slightest bit like urine--I made it all up. So, you cool with all of the other smells?I'm not trying to be shitty and I've never been a smoker. It just seems to me that bars should be allowed to be bars--and the ever-growing nanny state should butt out (pardon the pun).
1/1/2010 9:03:28 AM
I go to bars, not dance clubs. So there's not a lot of sweating going on. And I do not get too close to the one fat guy that sweats just sitting to smell like sweat. And if I come home smelling like cheap perfume and pheramones that means I've gotten close enough to a chick that it's worth it. Besides none of those smells attatch themselves to you clothes and skin like smoke.
1/1/2010 9:09:36 AM
saucer will still leave the saucer funk on my clothes...for a while, anywayi imagine that funk will smell less like smoke and more like...whatever makes up the rest of the funk in any case, i'm stoked for tomorrow
1/1/2010 9:37:36 AM
i don't smokeand i am NOT stoked for tomorrow. not in the slightest.i guess its good this ban doesnt really effect me. do you think we can get a ban on the guys and girls that wear a ton of cologne/ perfume?that kills my sinuses and it happens relatively often in some places. How the fuck is this remotely constitutional?
1/1/2010 9:47:13 AM
the bill is certainly a loss for business ownersI'll enjoy the smokeless bars because I've never been a smoker, but this is still wrong
1/1/2010 10:02:16 AM
1/1/2010 10:08:44 AM
For years and years I wasn't a smoker, and even then smoke didn't bother me.How big of a fucking pussy do you have to be for smoke to bother you?

1/1/2010 10:13:49 AM
Democrats HATE the constitution!
1/1/2010 10:15:20 AM
1/1/2010 10:17:39 AM
people's "rights" will NEVER (never!) be protected in their entiretyso i'd just as soon they penalize people that aren't me...i don't particularly care about smokers or business owners that encourage smoking, since i am neitherlet me make this very clear: your rights will NEVER be protected to the letter of the constitution since it is IMPOSSIBLE...the constitution is open to interpretation and we are a generation of whiny couch-and-computer revolutionaries...there's not a single one of you pussies that are going to do a DAMN thing but piss and moan on message boards...one or two of you might write a letter to your congressman, but the VAST majority of you that complain about shit like this are too fucking lazy or stupid to do anything of value in regards to getting something done about itso laws like this will continue to be made and people like me, who "benefit" from them (in that they don't in any way inhibit my right to make dumb choices but instead actually make me more willing to do things i previously wouldn't have done) will laugh at you pussies who can't think of anything better to do than cry endlessly about the how unfair america is
1/1/2010 10:37:17 AM

I find it amazing that there's so much arguing going on about this ban involving the SMELL of smoke. It's not about the god damn smell, people. It's about LUNG CANCER.http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2009/feb/17/lung-cancer-smoking-ban-effecthttp://www.springerlink.com/content/1816135656q97652/And heart healthhttp://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/09/22/moh.healthmag.smoking.heart/index.html[Edited on January 1, 2010 at 10:45 AM. 1/1/2010 10:50:09 AM
Except it doesn't. My ugly mug doesn't either.
1/1/2010 10:52:33 AM

STOP ARGUING GUYS!!!! ALL THIS TENSION AND ANGER IS GIVING ME TEH BRAINZ CANCER!!!!111
1/1/2010 10:58:05 AM
And how often do you see the non smokers wanting to be "that guy" in a bar, you know, where smoking should just be expected? Is it because non smokers are inherently less douchey because they are hooked on a something they can't break?
1/1/2010 10:58:37 AM
besides are you guys so sensitive that a small, trace amount of smoke ruins your night? grow a fucking pair
1/1/2010 10:58:39 AM
I don't think anyone is saying it ruins their night, no, we've been content to just put up with it for more or less our entire lives - including when we we're kids and our barely middle class parents took us to those little shitty diners with all the poor old white people drinking their coffee, smoking their cigs, railing on about the niggers, and praying to God the government didn't cut off their SS check.[Edited on January 1, 2010 at 11:02 AM. 1/1/2010 11:05:28 AM
ooooooo you wrote you congressman... lot of good that did HAHAHAnobody gives a shit about your piece of shit misspelled handwritten ramblings - it went straight into the trash.
1/1/2010 11:15:40 AM
1/1/2010 11:16:51 AM
i'm glad they passed it. if i was going in somewhere where there was a lot of smoke, i'd just leave my jacket in the car so it wouldn't smell like it when i left. i just learned to deal, but didn't necessarily avoid the place.i think some places will see increased business. plus they won't have to spend money on ash trays, smoke restorations, etc...
1/1/2010 11:18:48 AM
1/1/2010 11:24:30 AM
i don't do that, go ahead and ban it whatevs ~

1/1/2010 11:29:15 AM
I'm going to Hookah Bliss tomorrow to smoke and protest. Anyone else who is against the shutting down of hookah bars over this bill should join me.
1/1/2010 11:53:39 AM
I thought hookah bars were exempt from this...seeing how smoking indoors is their business.
1/1/2010 11:55:04 AM
Yeah hookah bars would be exempt from what I heard
1/1/2010 11:56:55 AM
So yeah I guess going to a hookah bar to protest the ban would be like going to a bar to protest a drinking ban in grocery stores.
1/1/2010 11:58:01 AM
the news said that hookah bars were not exempt... the only things exempt are country clubs and vfw

McDanger the studies on secondhand smoke from Red Cross and American Lung Association site incessantly was actually thrown out because of a lack of firm evidence.the results of the environmental tobacco smoke and tobacco related mortality in a prospective study of Californians do not support a causal relation between environmental tobacco smoke and tobacco related mortality, although they do not rule out a small effect and the association between exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and coronary heart disease and lung cancer may be considerably weaker than generally believed.I could talk about several more articles and studies, but what it comes down to is... well, just re-read McDanger's posts
1/1/2010 1:57:32 PM
LoneSnark posted this in another thread, but it looks like lung cancer is the only cancer that is actually rising in death incidences. It seems like there might be some fire where this smoke is coming from...[Edited on January 1, 2010 at 2:16 PM. Reason : ]

That red line in the first chart going from top left to bottom right sure does show an increase... From the Cancer Statistics study for 2009, published by ACS: http://caonline.amcancersoc.org/cgi/content/full/59/4/225
