im just sayingfat ugly guys have a place on tvfat ugly girls do not

^ i dont think her role in the show is to be defined as the "fat ugly chick". if that's what they were going for, then they could've made her appear much worse. i think you're whining a bit too much about an irrelevant person in an irrelevant side plot
3/13/2009 2:42:32 AM
This was funny. I like the girl Kevin's with, it suits him.
3/13/2009 11:34:53 AM
Haha I'm just catching up on the last episode... I loved the opening scene. "The KGB waits for no one!""Its true"
3/17/2009 11:42:19 AM
The best scene of the last episode was the exchanging of ideas between Michael & Dwight. Horse Boat

I have to brush my teeth, its a whole routine.

I wonder if this will be Jan's old position or David's? I hope not David--I like him.
3/18/2009 3:09:38 PM
wtf kind of ending was that?
3/19/2009 9:48:25 PM
That episode was not very funny. Way too many awkward moments
3/19/2009 9:50:56 PM
that was outstanding - the best of the season. but yea...... ^^ i don't know what happened there at the end. guess they'll have to clear that one up next week. The new boss fit in great, and reacted perfectly to all the strange Scranton-branch stuff that was thrown at him. Some great lines:"it was my understanding that I was not going be managed""what gave you that idea"".... it was my understanding" "i think i thrive under a lack of accountability" "excellent segue into what is really my only point, which is I don't need to be managed" It's hilarious that he thinks Jim is a weirdo and a slacker. It was great how he put Jim on the spot about the Assistant Regional Manager business. btw, where is the opening credits they used a couple weeks ago that showed all the characters? I liked that one - now they're back to the original
3/19/2009 10:13:38 PM
so on the finale amy ryan will convice michael to stay?orsince he is quitting they will discuss his moving to be with her and the season will end cliffhanger style?ornone of the above
3/19/2009 10:26:10 PM
no, it will be resolved by next week. Maybe with even something as lame as a misunderstanding - when Michael said "i quit" he just meant "i quit with this meeting" or somethingwe're not even close to the end of the season. This was episode 21 out of 29.
3/19/2009 10:40:21 PM
i'm pretty sure michael said I acquit; not I quit
3/19/2009 10:54:36 PM
Finally an episode that makes me look forward to the next, good or bad... and Pam and Jim need some drama, even though I hate drama. It at least keeps some sort of consistent story line going. Or more Creed... that is all I need

3/19/2009 11:06:27 PM
well, i guess it depends on how you count them. If you count the two 1-hour episodes as 2 30-minute shows (which they were obviously written and filmed so they could be broken up in syndication), then this was episode 20 (not 21) of 29. if you count the 1-hour episodes as a single episode, then this was 18 of 25, i believe (i think they scheduled 4 1-hour eps this season)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Office_(US)_episodes#Season_5:_2008.E2.80.932009

^^i agree in some respects. Personally the way the show started out and the way the british version was done was the awkwardness was so effective because one could relate to how they would feel if that occurred in an actual office environment. the antics portrayed in the past few seasons makes it possible to have that connection with the show. i'm not saying the show has gone down hill or i choose not to watch it based on this transformation, but it is a negative transformation in my opinion and a style to which i wish they would return.
3/20/2009 9:24:33 AM
3/20/2009 9:32:31 AM
Imagine that. Successfully suspending disbelief during a show where they ask you to buy into the idea that people can have super powers.I must have missed the Office episode where they set the precedence for super continual employment despite what you do powers.
3/20/2009 10:45:47 AM
Michael Scott should have been fired in season one - how have you been watching the show up to this point?I do like the fact that someone is finally challenging his job - it makes it seem more realistic when he can't get away with all this crapmaybe they'll be ready to fire him but Michael will find some way to blackmail one of the higher ups
3/20/2009 11:00:44 AM
^i don't think it was an issue of suspending disbelief for him, but more so a matter that some of the powers are just plain stupid.
3/20/2009 11:00:48 AM
3/20/2009 6:07:09 PM
he should quit, and they re-hire him as a salesman and he shows how he got to a branch manager position in the first place
3/20/2009 7:07:19 PM
3/21/2009 2:45:39 AM
about halfway through this week's episode, holy shit it's bad.. everything is so forced
3/22/2009 11:20:11 PM
they should do some stunt-casting with this guy. i'd crap my pants.
3/22/2009 11:44:08 PM
3/24/2009 1:21:20 PM
NO NO REALISTICME WANT CRAZY
3/24/2009 7:17:05 PM
oh snap! didn't see that coming
3/26/2009 9:29:04 PM
yeah, huh..... i wonder how long this will last. the previews for the next episode look funny, though. looks like they could actually be trying to branch out
3/26/2009 9:34:08 PM
why in 2 weeks though?
3/26/2009 9:47:55 PM
i figured you fucks would be all "THAT'D NEVER HAPPEN! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE "
3/27/2009 9:26:15 AM
^This was one of the more realistic episodes this season.Behavior you would expect from Michael.Response you'd expect from an authoritative figure. Here lately they've had Michael doing things that felt way over the top and completely out of character, even for him - complete with responses by his superiors that were equally baffling. In that one episode where he quit I kept waiting for Michael to defaecate on David Wallace's desk and for him to just sit there going duuuuuurrrrrrrr, here's a raise.[Edited on March 27, 2009 at 11:16 AM. 3/27/2009 11:15:31 AM
^maybe thats why they brought this person in, because it seems everyone has had the same general complaint.

WHERE'S THE BOY STRING
3/27/2009 6:30:26 PM
do you people know why documentaries aren't funny? because real life isn't funny 99% of the time. it's a comedy show guys, lighten up.
3/30/2009 10:56:25 AM
the show is dangerously close to jumping the shark for me. let's see how far they go with this.
3/30/2009 11:01:06 AM

3/30/2009 1:04:13 PM
^^ it all depends on how the "michael scott paper company" turns out. So far, it's actually quite the opposite of "jumping the shark" - i mean, this is practically the most real thing that has happened in years. There is no way Michael still deserves a job at Dunder-Mifflin. The show has been getting stale for several season, simply because of the premise itself - a documentary crew films at a paper company in small-town Pennsylvania..... you can only make that interesting for so long. I'm more than willing to see how this plays out, because it's about time for them to try something different. it would really be jumping-the-shark if they found a way to re-hire Michael.
3/30/2009 1:29:53 PM
3/30/2009 1:31:46 PM
yeah there's no way this independent company is going to last for more than a few episodesunless they're going to draw it out and use the jim-pam distance to cue up some separation drama for the season finale
3/30/2009 1:38:02 PM
3/30/2009 2:11:49 PM
but if Pam goes back would she want to be a receptionist again, or would she try and stay as a salesmen?
