arshavin isnt a striker though...hes an attacking middy. hes usually the one that sets up the strikers. though, i didnt get to see the game so i have no idea where arsene played him in the field.and neville is out again with an injury, maybe this will be for good(harsh but being realistic). id rather have one of the brazilian twins at fullback than neville right now...hes lost 12 steps and is obviously a liability now.

^^well, never mind that, then...but according to Wikipedia he played attacking mid, winger and then eventually settled into a role as a second striker at Zenit...so maybe that's where he played in the Pool gameanyhow, he damn sure looked like a striker^ true...I somehow picked up the word "automatic" out of nowhere ]
4/22/2009 9:15:34 PM
^^ I think the rumor came from The Sun, which needs to always be taken with a grain of salt...But my money would be on him going to Real or Inter, with Real being the more likely of the two.I don't see any way that United cough up the money for him, which makes me very sad.
4/22/2009 10:02:45 PM
Yeah you can't really blame him for wanting to leave... but on the other hand, you can't blame United for not throwing crazy money at him with the personnel they already have

Barcelona and Madrid?Yooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu son of a BITCHNot sure what was really wrong with his English there other than the fact that he didn't know what a sitcom was[Edited on April 23, 2009 at 9:07 AM. Reason : .]

the Brand/band thing.
4/23/2009 9:18:09 AM
i cant stand bendtnerso while im thinking of it...joey barton got a prison sentence and served like 2 or 3 months for it for his assault on someone...liverpool fans, whats the saga on gerrard? he still have to go to court or did he magically get out of this one?[Edited on April 23, 2009 at 9:19 PM. Reason : h]
4/23/2009 9:15:47 PM
Well without knowing much of the details for either, I do know that was like Barton's 189087324th fight/assault charge, it was bound to catch up to him sooner or laterI was under the impression there weren't many details known about Gerrard's case either... but whatever the case, don't act like he's the only athlete to slip past serious punishment over a bar fight[Edited on April 23, 2009 at 10:05 PM. 4/23/2009 10:04:59 PM
^ Gerrard got off scot-fuckin-freejust like I called it.They dropped all charges because "there wasn't enough evidence."
4/24/2009 8:25:28 AM
all that stuff applies to wayne rooney as well though. didn't he beat up a dude at a restaurant ? i'm sure it wasn't the first time, but he's still awesome
4/24/2009 8:38:28 AM
Yeah, he did. It's all about perception though, which is bullshit just like it is here. They should all get treated the same way.You fuck up, regardless of who you are in the media, you should pay the price.[Edited on April 24, 2009 at 9:01 AM. Reason : .]
4/24/2009 8:41:04 AM
I disagreeI feel that Rooney and Gerrard are English national treasures, and also two of the most important players in the Premier League, and therefore the rules should be relaxed somewhat in their cases...though not overtly of courseI don't see anything wrong with punishing them less than Barton was punished...if you fuck up Rooney or Gerrard, it totally changes the Premier League season and could possibly determine who wins the League this yearfor me, that's worse than being inconsistent in your judgments in small matters such as bar fightsbut I think Barton probably has a much blacker legal record than either of them, anyway]
4/24/2009 4:52:40 PM
That sets a dangerous precedent. But this is not the thread to debate that.
4/24/2009 5:42:16 PM
true
4/24/2009 6:05:04 PM
I'm not suggesting he should automatically get away with it... but it didn't look like much of a "fight" to me. It's not he put somebody in a hospital or anything, it just seemed like a minor bar altercation, nothing more
4/24/2009 6:07:26 PM
just came across these stats on a blog I frequent-Spurs haven't won in their last 18 against United -Spurs have only one goal in their last eight at Old Trafford Needless to say, don't expect them to drop points this weekend/jinx
4/24/2009 11:07:26 PM
bartons case has been much worse, it seems like he gets in trouble for something almost every month and hasn't shown any signs of improvement, unlike rooney who hasn't gotten in trouble in a while or gerrard where it seems to be just this single incident. man utd better not drop points to tottenham, but crazier things have happened

i was listening to this on bbc radio yesterday....well done frank!
4/25/2009 9:46:37 AM
Yeah, that Radio announcer is a fucking douche for that. he even has the audacity to say that he won't apologize to him - which would line him up for a certified ass-beating from most people.the british media has this false sense of entitlement, they feel like they can say or do whatever they want. I guess slander laws don't work the same way over there.

4/25/2009 2:04:06 PM
Well I lied. I took the time to watch a little bit of the second half. Now I shall start my paper since Manchester United is totally PWNT Spurs. And yeh...who couldn't see that coming? They are tough at home.
4/25/2009 2:05:32 PM
God I hate the way Aaron Lennon runs.He stiffens his arms all the way down and holds his wrists out like a gay dude sashaying - what a queerbait.
4/25/2009 2:06:35 PM
^Hating on your national team?
4/25/2009 2:07:31 PM
No, calling a spade a spade.Lennon is a fringe player, and will never see the pitch again if Joey Cole can stay healthy.Berbatov. 5-2 United. Absolutely rampant.
4/25/2009 2:12:22 PM
joe cole is one of my least favorite players in all the world. hes always mean mugging, he just looks like a complete douche
4/25/2009 2:39:11 PM
...really?He's probably my absolute favorite.
4/25/2009 2:48:03 PM
Love Joe Cole. Not incredibly fast, but a great player. Gotten better getting back on D lately, well, until he got hurt.
4/25/2009 2:53:36 PM
yea i dunno, i just never liked the way he plays and stuff, it doesnt help that chelsea is one of my least favorite teams. no doubt that he's a good player though

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0MGA10X6f0&feature=relatedpepe of real madrid....class act. 10 game suspension and juande ramos is actually thinking about appealing the decision...
4/25/2009 9:36:01 PM
yeah I think he got off light on that.
4/25/2009 9:45:29 PM
You think 10 matches was light?!Ramos is an idiot. I hope they don't think he's the long-term solution at Real. Pepe already said that he'd do the time because he was absolutely wrong - he said it the day of, that he'd do the time if it were 4 matches or 14.
4/25/2009 10:34:34 PM
nope. they think ronaldo for 75mil will be...cause hes also gonna manage the team...
4/25/2009 10:53:19 PM
i never thought of pepe as dirty, but that was definitely worth 10 games. he did kick the guy once (which could have looked like an attempt at the ball), then again he does it again VERY blatantly.CR can go die in the SPL, fuck him. juande will be out of a job by oct. with or without ronaldo.
