whenever i see someone get killed from a sniper rifle, i just look at the radar and go kill whoever is sniping. I go out of my way to kill snipers/campers in this game.

You should have to earn the ability to see where your opponents are at... plus I do a lot of flanking and it is bs if they can see where I'm at just because of the little red dot when otherwise, they would have no idea. I use camo in hardcore anyway though.

Plus it is just fun to listen for gunfire and follow it...

Surround sound > radar

yeah the radar makes it so easy you don't have to know where anything is on the map. and the flash hiders in normal are more useless than suppressorz in cod four.

I wish I could snipe better, but I get too impatient. Plus, a lot of the larger maps are not so great to snipe on. I really miss CREEK. i can only play hardcore, too, bc of the mp40 crap and whatnot. I'm still trying to get kills/headshots with the gewehr and rifles and it takes FOREVER.

new zombie map is interesting, though.

my biggest problem is finding the time to sneak in gaming around work, bf, and social activities. another thing is, i've stopped using my headset bc douchebag 12 yr olds just try to hunt me down.

best game mode ever is search and destroy.

dunno why youre having problems with the gewehr. semi-automatic rifles aren't bad if you can rapid tap the fire button really well. gewehr + stopping power + core mode = not so long to get 150 kills.

Treyarch fails at balancing weapons. How is a 9mm MP40 bullet as or more powerful as a rifle bullet?

Of all the weapons to make overpowered, why the spray and pray shit?

I'm not having problems, I just don't have the patience. I've used up all my hardcore points, too, so I've been playing on regular. It's not as fun.

I just tried getting the challenge of killing someone using their own gun. that is fun

Yeah the research on the weapons seems kinda weak.

The M1919, the M1 Garand, the BAR, and the Springfield use the same round, yet all have different stopping power.
The same goes for the 98K and the MG42 and the Type 99 and Type 100.
Somehow a 9mm round is more powerful than a .45.
A .30 carbine is more powerful than a 30_06.

i can't play core anymore. i'll go back to it for a round or two and it just sucks. just takes me forever to level up once i hit like 40. o well, don't really care about the prestige anyway, just bout kickin some ass.

hardcore has its pitfalls too. everyone basically just camps & snipes.

i.e. sniper hiding in a big grass bush killing you 5 times before you can pinpoint his location.

I picked up my WaW controller again.

Got the new map pack and played the new zombie level.

I really have gotten into the "War" game type. Lot of fun kinda reminds me of BF1942 style of play.

Honestly I don't see that many mp40s in the last few days. The stg44 is becoming more popular ( better range and less recoil for big maps)

overall i the CoD WaW has a worse gun balance than CoD4.

Granted some guns are easier than others each had its own roll and with its own style in which you could pwn the competition. Except for a few outliers; most of the guns were competitive with each other and had their own niches. The pump shotties is near useless on Creek and the G3 struggles in the vacants.

Seems though in WaW some guns just dwarf others at all times.

I miss the grip attachment


The Saw w/ Grip + Deep Impact + Stopping Power was my absolute fav in CoD4.. I could snipe with that bitch, or just mow through an entire building

yeah shouldn't the M1A1 have greater mobility yet less range than a M1 garand.

Nope thanks to Treyarch they are the same.

also it pisses me off the trench gun blows asshole. I loved using the pump shotgun in CoD4.

^^ Nah the M1 Garand is garbage compared to the carbine.

The M1 should be one of the best rifles... but it has a short clip, low damage, and kicks like john kasay.

If treyarch was going to make one weapon completely overpowered, it should have been a rifle, or a weapon that required some kind of aiming ability (Like the first Halo and the pistol, amirite?).

Its the same thing as making the Halo 2 SMG a 3 shot kill. It makes no sense. Historically it is not justified, as the Thompson is weaker despite having larger bullets. Gameplay wise the MP40's power is not justified, the gun is unlocked at level 11 and requires no aiming ability.

anyone else getting a weird controller lag bug on station when the map first starts? right when it begins, the time between moving my joystick and the game responding is like a whole second, i don't think its my internet cause it only happens the first 15-20 seconds of the station map starting.

^ that happened to us once we finally let a controller go all the way dead. since then, that controller gets a lag before every game.

I played cod4 the other day. . . .

at the end of a HQ match on makin, i decided to shoot a rifle grenade into the HQ the enemy just capped (in the center hut), and this all popped up on my screen:

It pisses me off when i leave a map for a reason and than when i try to start a new match it puts me back in the same fucking game that i left

If i quit a match its usually for a good reason
- i don't want to play a match that is nearly over (700-650) in tdm
- With some game modes certain maps suck to play on so i'd rather play elsewhere i.e War at Dome
- I don't want to play against some douchebag clan

yet it will put me back in there 3 even 4 times and the worst part is I get a Loss counted against my record even when i am quitting from the same map

if my team sucks i'll just quit and that happens quite a bit

no matter how good you are you just can't win an HQ match without a good team

The worst thing about dogs is that it further encourages the game to be Call of Duty - World of MP40 as your pretty fucked
trying to fight off the dogs with your bolt-action sniper rifle or M1 Garand.

In CoD4 you can hide from the helicopter and although the LMG's give an advantage to shooting down the copter, anyone can carry the rocket launcher
to shoot the damn thing down and the need to shoot down the helicopter is not even necesarry to prevent death (although it does prove inconvient).
Unless you are stupid or unlucky it is very possible to never die from the helicopter unless you in say bog.

On the other hand dogs are straight up fucking annoying. Die, respawn, take two steps, get killed again. The things are to aggressive
and espicially in hardcore are to imbalanced.

Pray that no one on the opposing team has dogs saved away if during War you go into overtime.

CoD WaW needs some kind of perk3 like odorless or perk1 that allows even someone with a semi-auto or bolt action to more easily dispose of the dogs

I have decent success stabbing them, but if theres more than one dog at once you can forget it.

for dogs i just pick a corner or tight space, and prepare for the dogs... if i have a bolt action i just pull out my pistol (many times if im carrying a bolt action if i move around at all, i make it a point to pick up a smg somewhere).

in MW2 they should make the 5 kill streak a napalm strike similar to artillery/air strike

if you're a run and gunner like me the best solution usually is just to keep moving quickly

i hate when they run up behind me when i'm setting a bouncing betty though - instant death

Win/Loss is the most meaningless stat in this game since a quit counts as a loss.

If I'm playing mercenary team deathmatch I will quit everyother game. You do well the first game, then all the terrible players are stuck on your team. Why should I have to carry a team that collectively goes -35 with their K/D spread? I mean I will give the guys recon planes up the wazu and they still manage to go 3-25.

And yea, quit a terrible laggy game full of MP40 juggernauts, and you get thrown back in it. Annoying.

win/loss is a tough stat because it depends on your team.... If you are a godly player, you'll still lose if you have a bunch of failures on your team, especially in maps with objectives.

On the other hand how do you judge players who play team tactical, war, search and destroy etc.

Sure i can run around the map all day in War to rack up a killer K ratio. That though is not actively helping my team capture the flag or accomplish the objective

Meanwhile another guy has a horrid K 15-22. Yet his 22 deaths is from continuously assaulting the flag capture point or bomb

I tried getting a good win streak going with mah 4-player-allstar team, we won about 50 team deathmatch games in a row...

Then two of my friends quit... everyone on the other team pulled out the BITCH class

(MP40 Dual Mag + BombSquad + Juggernaut + Steady Aim) and they sprayed and prayed our asses. My friend and I still went positive, but the randomly assigned shit-players managed to give the other team constant radar and dogs to bother us, and we lost. One guy on our team died 21 times without a kill (To be fair he killed two dogs and had an assit).

Therefore/Ergo/Thus/concordently/As a result, the only stat I look at in the pregame lobby that I think matters is the overall K/D spread.

if i look at the map and don't see those green arrows heading towards the hq i get very pissed

i just picked up a bluetooth headset - i'm gonna start yelling at these stupid 13 year olds to stop standing around

HQ can be the worst. Kids settle in their camp spots and then no one tries to rush the HQ when the enemy grabs it.

I've been on the losing end of 250-0 games that lasted less than 3 minutes.

^^^Team Deathmatch K/D then, would be the best indicator of skill, imo

Or if you look at their stats on the website and see their most used weapons, the farther down the MP40 is, the better they are.
