you can get more people out of that tradeChris Young sucks right now but no way he keeps it up all year
6/5/2008 9:53:12 AM
Jorge Posada getting the start today (in about 25 minutes)fyi
6/5/2008 12:51:05 PM
I was offered Johnny Cueto & Edwin Encarnacion for Hudson & Andy LaRouche. NL only league. Thoughts? It's intriging. 3B is a weakness with LaRouche hurt. Hudson is my #3 pitcher, so I can move him, but I love my rotation.
6/5/2008 3:52:45 PM
cueto has been dropped in a couple of my leagues, if that tells you anything
6/5/2008 3:55:47 PM
in an NL only league though?
6/5/2008 3:57:32 PM
terrible tradeHudson >>> CuetoEncarnacion > LaRoche[Edited on June 5, 2008 at 4:48 PM. Reason : yo]
6/5/2008 4:46:09 PM
^basicallyalthough i'd say by seasons end, instead of Hudson >>> Cueto, it'll be more like Hudson >> Cueto
6/5/2008 4:51:30 PM
Damn the day after I trade Cole Hamels he pitches a shutout.
6/5/2008 5:13:00 PM
matt stairs "ftw" lol, gotta love havin guys like that blow up for you
6/5/2008 5:22:18 PM
god dammit BJ Ryan
6/5/2008 5:23:03 PM
I'm being offered Magglio Ordonez and Cliff Lee for Matt Holliday. What do you guys think?
6/6/2008 4:48:38 PM
its fair but i wouldnt do it. I think holliday will be a lot better than mags and cliff lee this season. depends on what u need tho
6/6/2008 5:48:17 PM
well I have Jermaine Dye, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Nate McClouth in the OF plus Holliday when he gets healthy. So I really don't need an OF. Starting pitching is meh. I have Ervin Santana, Jonathan Sanchez, Justin Verlander, Joe Saunders, Jake Peavy, and Randy Johnson. Obviously Cliff Lee is better than all/most of those so far stats wise, but Lee has been slipping here lately. Also, is it time to give up on Verlander? I've waited and waited for him to turn it around, but I'm wondering if he'll ever turn it around.
6/6/2008 6:15:37 PM
he's trying to sell high on Lee...depends on who you have to drop. The Rockies aren't the same as they were last year.
6/6/2008 6:18:35 PM
I have a catcher to drop now that Doumit off the DL, so no problem there.
6/6/2008 6:27:04 PM
I think it's an okay trade...I think Lee is coming down to earth though. Holiday isnt going to be the same as he was last year, so I'd probably do it if you need the pitching...how many teams are in the league?
6/6/2008 6:28:49 PM
10 teams are in the league
6/6/2008 6:32:05 PM
I'd probably do it...some of those sps is liable to wind up on the DL at some point this year.
6/6/2008 6:35:09 PM
thanks for the help
6/6/2008 6:37:16 PM
It's official, my pitching staff is now worth crap. The following has happened in the last five days: First John Smoltz is done for the season. Then James Shields gets suspended for the fight. Now Bonderman is lost for the season with blood-clots or something. And to finish it off, my best pitcher of late Wellemeyer is flown back to St Louis for right shoulder inflammation. Throw in the fact that Harden is now my #1 guy (he's DL bound sooner rather than later) and Chris Young is still on the DL for taking an Albert Pujols liner off his nose and it's pretty much worst case scenario here. My opening day starting-pitching staff was Smoltz, Harden, Shields, Young and Bonderman.I've picked up Wellemeyer, Kershaw, Pedro and Penny off waivers to stash and start on occasions but now they're all part of my rotation with Harden and Shields. I love this game.......but this is getting ridiculous.
6/7/2008 3:20:39 PM
Guy in my league is considering Doumit, Mclouth, Holliday and Lee for McCann and Utley. I still would have Hamilton, Bruce, Ichiro, Magglio and Milton Bradley in the OF/Util so I would be alright
6/7/2008 3:45:07 PM
good day today so far...my 3 players so far have all homered...A-Rod, Russell Martin, (Carlos) Guillen
6/7/2008 5:36:28 PM
lets get everyone's thoughts on a trade of (league counts holds):delgado, k-rod, carl crawford forharen, fielder, scott shields
6/8/2008 9:28:12 PM
my team hit .238 this week and my pitchers had a 4.54 ERA yet I still won 10-9
6/8/2008 9:48:30 PM
i think im gonna try the streaming pitchers method in one league (no max moves and i'm gettin killed every week in the W and K columns by teams who stream SP's) --- tomorrow, should i pick up Hendrickson (vs Cin/Volquez)Duke (vs Ari)
6/8/2008 10:46:59 PM
neither
6/8/2008 10:51:53 PM
^^^^KRod is very valuable....top 5 closer easily. Crawford should turn it around but he is awful now. Delgado has improved some but still is not near a top 1B. I like the other team getting Haren.
6/9/2008 3:59:22 AM
good bc im the team gettign hareni have a ton of saves to give up though, so its a feasible trade for me bc i need Hrs
6/9/2008 11:23:51 AM
JJ Putz left the game today with a right arm injurydon't know how severe it is but arm injuries with pitchers usually mean surguryAs a dedicated Mariners fan and a JJ Putz owner, I never thought I'd be alright with him being gone for the yearHe's been terrible. 5 something ERA with a 1.9 something WHIP. He's been killing me and you can't simply drop one of the best closers in the league.
6/11/2008 3:23:11 PM
There's a fella named Brandon Morrow who you'd be wise to pick up in his abscence
6/11/2008 3:45:29 PM
i'm considering dropping litch for morrow...i'm just worried the injury may not be severe and plus morrow has been hurt recently.
6/11/2008 4:24:32 PM
^^I know all about Morrow. I picked him up as soon as I saw that Putz was down. The Mariners should have have drafted the hometown hero Lincecum but our front office is one of the most retarded in all of baseball. Morrow will probably be a good starting pitcher but obviously Lincecum has already reached that point.
6/11/2008 5:08:47 PM
Yeah I have Putz and Pujols....this sucks. I get Vernon Wells and Holliday finally and lose those two. I already picked up Morrow. I have Giambi on my bench or DH where I have Milton Bradley too so I think I will be ok. The best 1B I can pick up is someone like a Casey Kotchman and I think Giambi is better than him.
6/11/2008 6:48:58 PM
Love the Giambino
6/11/2008 6:50:52 PM
anybody know why Brandon Phillips isnt starting today? routine day off?
6/11/2008 7:10:37 PM
out for the year
6/11/2008 7:23:01 PM
yep out for the yearfucked up his knee during warmups
6/11/2008 8:02:17 PM
OMFG THX 4 TELLING ME I JUST DROPPED HIM(not no real though)
6/11/2008 9:20:32 PM
ahahaha
6/11/2008 9:55:45 PM
Soriano (out 6 weeks), Victor Martinez and Putz all go down in one day....wtfmy team has been haunted by the injury bug this year...I had my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks out at one time earlier this year
6/12/2008 6:43:32 AM
morrowlitschlesterpick two. i'm debating whether i should drop litsch or lester for morrow...
6/12/2008 9:35:31 AM
morrow won't get many save opportunities
6/12/2008 9:51:00 AM
Peavy in his first start back pitched 6 scoreless versus the Dodgers (btw Matt Kemp is beginning to serve his suspension now)...but for Peavy, 6 scoreless, 3 hits, 4 Ks, no walks...Padres up 7-0 in the 7th...Adrian Gonzalez 2/3, 2 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR...now they need Chris Young to not have brain damage from Pujols' line drive so he can get back off the DL
6/12/2008 5:54:49 PM
W00T first place by myself at 9-2.....and high score 5 out of 11 weeks.Should I trade Milton Bradley while he is healthy and really valuable? I have Giambi and Jose Guillen who can DH but Giambi is at first until Pujols is back.
6/15/2008 11:53:47 PM
would you guys accept this trade?ive been debating it for a while as i already have doumit as my catcher and casilla has been killing it for me Rank Actual Rankings Rankings (Average Stats) O-Rank Alexi Casilla (Min - 2B) Was 35 Carlos Quentin (CWS - OF) Pit 40 Joba Chamberlain (NYY - SP,RP) SD 130 forRank Actual Rankings Rankings (Average Stats) O-Rank Brian McCann (Atl - C) @Tex 94 Ichiro Suzuki (Sea - OF) Fla 83[Edited on June 17, 2008 at 11:06 AM. Reason : .]
6/17/2008 11:05:46 AM
if you already have doumit then try to get someone else beside mccannor you could probably turn around and trade one of your two catchers for another much needed position/category[Edited on June 17, 2008 at 12:13 PM. Reason : yeah...i would take it the way it is too]
6/17/2008 11:49:07 AM
I would def. take it if you're the one getting Ichiro. Quentin isn't as good as he has been, and looks like he might be cooling off. Not saying he won't end up with decent numbers, but just not as good as he has been. Casilla is hitting well but really his stats aren't all that good because he doesn't really do anything all that well (score runs, hit for power, or steal bases). Joba should be pretty straight, but with Doumit also having some OF eligibility (right?) and catchers getting days off anyways I would take it.
6/17/2008 12:10:08 PM
dude casilla bats in front of mauer and morneau. he's been awesome and if his stats were projected across 600 ab's he'd have 100 R 17HR 130RBI(no way but its just projections) and 17SB'sthe guy took the trade off of the table anyways.
6/17/2008 2:25:53 PM
he reoffered ichiro for quentin and jobawtf i should have jumped on the otheri should reject this on principle
6/17/2008 2:34:24 PM
a good trade for you slave famous. although you do give up a power pitcher.
