GGAHT is a hard ass song. only song I can't beat on expert guitar. I failed at 95% one time and two times on 85/84. I want to play it on a guitarhero controller though.. it would be way easiiiieer

We Care A Lot - Here's to hoping it's the version they re-recorded with Mike Patton...
2/4/2008 12:02:02 PM
i might be purchasing this game soon
2/4/2008 1:35:02 PM
I'd recommend it, especially if you have buddies come over that like GH.BTW, what song is GGHAT you keep refering to? I can't think of it...

green grass and high tides by the outlaws

Dern bass pedal broke Wednesday night... looks like no Rock Band drums for me this weekend.
2/8/2008 10:45:12 AM
finally was able to send a request for 2nd guitar after 2 weeksthe quiet strum bar is nice and all, but they really need to make a guitar with a clicky strum bar.
2/8/2008 11:12:40 AM
agreed. I hate not being able to hear if I am strumming the repetitive fast parts correctly
2/9/2008 10:53:54 AM
I have the 3 song OXM disc if anyone wants to borrow it. The fucking magazine was 10 bucks, so if you could spare a buck, I could meet you somewhere on campus and let you "rent" it and get it back after you install the song. Its a must if you like Freezepop.
2/9/2008 8:00:04 PM
for the drum pedal, i'll repeat my post from late Decemberfor the kick pedal, I came up with my own repair after a crack started showing late last nightyou need about $20 and some electrical tape and a bit of nig in your systemhead down to a autozone, pep boys, or other such auto supply shopbuy a set of those cheese dick "racing" pedals (foot print style preferred but not available where I went)take the gas pedal one and just tape that sucker on the kick pedal as shown here

one of my rockers:
2/10/2008 11:40:18 AM
haha, send me the steelers stuff somehow, thats awesome
2/10/2008 11:41:39 AM
i wish i could send it. i've had to manually remake it multiple times just to get it on my other characters. you can make it yourself like i did. it's not really hard. i noticed they had the shape for the stars of the logo in the create art section so i got the idea to make a steelers logo. it's funny though. i play online and people make all kinds of comments. most common is "WHOA how do you get NFL team logos??!!"
2/10/2008 12:15:22 PM
fucking 84% on GGAHT every fucking time
2/11/2008 4:07:29 AM
My god GGAHT, I'm not that great on drums, I was playing on medium yesterday and I had to do the training for like 30 mins just to get through that insane beat at the end.
2/11/2008 10:53:11 AM
On GGAHT, it really helps to be conscious of your overdrive meter. If you keep avoiding the crash at the end, you'll get a lot of fill sections when you can recover. Then activate overdrive only when you're about to fail
2/11/2008 11:05:12 AM
oh I save myself at least 5 times with overdrive during the 2 long ass solos. it's just at 84% where the second mercilessly long string of hammer-ons gets me, cause I used my overdrive to get through the similar section right before it.I'm talking expert guitar btw, havent really done much with the drums yet
2/11/2008 1:59:23 PM
Are you using the Rock Band strat and the solo buttons? I've gotten to where I can do those two sections about 90% in practice mode using two hands but I still can't pass the actual song because I'm already usually about 50% on the meter and then I have to move both hands and start that section but I have to wait to get the timing right and end up failing out if I don't use overdrive. That song is such a pain in the ass...There aren't any new DLC songs that I am interested in for a while Though I'll probably end up getting some of them just because I get bored and need new songs.
2/11/2008 2:35:15 PM
what do the little buttons do?
2/11/2008 4:55:10 PM
The thing that makes it difficult (for me at least) is that if you are doing a hammer-on/pull-off, you have to hit the button right when it goes through the target. On GH, which trained me in the ways of interactive music games, you could just hold it down until you get to that point.

Very interesting... I will take the RB guitar out the box and try that out, thanks
2/11/2008 5:24:46 PM
2/12/2008 11:13:49 AM
yes, stupid songs....i havent bought anything in awhile...im sad, i might have to go back and buy all the small things!
2/12/2008 11:32:39 AM
Any chance these songs will EVER be free?
2/12/2008 11:36:56 AM
I'm gonna go ahead and guess no.
2/12/2008 1:39:41 PM
i think they need to crank out more DLC, faster. this 3 songs once a week thing sucks. esp when the 3 songs suck.[Edited on February 12, 2008 at 2:04 PM. Reason : ]

lol they spoiled us
2/12/2008 3:22:16 PM
I hear ya, it'd be nice to have it all now... but they have more DLC than any game and have WAY more planned than any other game.I want music I like too, but I dont want them to just start pumping out mindless charts. So far they've done a good job, and I'd like them to keep up the quality. Getting your favorite song/band is no good if it's some generic, disconnected chart.my .02
2/12/2008 3:29:13 PM
i don't want to sacrifice quailty charts, i just wish their selection was different.
2/12/2008 3:39:10 PM
Just read this section on a review of Rock Band on amazon and thought it was funny:
2/12/2008 9:42:40 PM
^ Sounds like he is just trying to find something to bitch about.
2/13/2008 9:40:48 AM
supposedly they'll be dropping a patch so you can play BWT mode online in June-July.
2/13/2008 10:34:54 AM
^that would be nice. i can play/sing well enough to get through a lot of it, but once you have to play on hard i am very limited as to what songs i can do, and i can't sing anything on expert. it's not often that my friends that can play stuff on expert are actually around to be able to play, so having BWT online would be sweet.
2/13/2008 9:03:25 PM
agreed. all of my friends suck at the game, and I want to play BWT online with my brother so we can actually get somewhere other than boston/ny and get some fans.

Rumor: Future Rock Band DLC Found in Game Filehttp://kotaku.com/356288/future-rock-band-dlc-found-in-game-fileThis is only a rumor, but definitely interesting if it turns out to be indicative of future DLC. This list is from a link in the article:

El scorcho!
2/14/2008 10:15:15 AM
^ i know, exciting!
2/14/2008 10:21:16 AM
me likes...all the Who, Nirvana, GD, and especially "Sex Type Thing"!
2/14/2008 10:28:10 AM
Of all the NIN songs they could've picked, they picked The Collector???? double-u-tee-eff, easily one of their worst songs.
2/14/2008 10:52:21 AM
El Scorcho, Sex Type Thing, and Hysteria?!?!?!?OH FUCK YEAH
2/14/2008 1:41:12 PM
no tool
2/14/2008 1:50:42 PM
So have they made any type of announcement when they will be improving on the hardware? It can only be so long of every person that owns the game having their 3rd guitar and 4th drum pedal as repairs
2/14/2008 2:49:19 PM
word. they're sending me a box to send in my broken guitar. coulda put down $125 for expedited or whatever, but i cant afford that shit even temporarily lol.its funny that when you call the EA support line it's like "rock band press 1, all other EA games press 2". think they know their shit's fucked up?
2/14/2008 3:22:35 PM
uh yeah it's been going on for a long time now.you could have done it through the support website too, fyi^^correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe there were some improvements b/w what came out right at first and what is out now (in terms of instruments). i am on my 2nd guitar, 2nd drums, 2nd pedal. so far so good.i wouldn't let the fact that you may get a somewhat defective piece of hardware keep you from buying the bundle if you can afford it. they replace the broken shit for free, no hassle. i <3 this game.[Edited on February 14, 2008 at 3:28 PM. 2/14/2008 3:26:27 PM
of course they know, they've probably been getting thousands of RMA's for the instruments.Little known secret: if you do the express replacement, they eventually take the $125 hold off your card, and BINGO you've got 2 guitars/drums/whatevers (the original faulty one + the replacement they send). Wait a while, start another RMA to replace the guitar that was initially faulty. They send you another fixed guitar, and BAM you've got 2 working guitars. Not that I'd condone something like this, but it's what I've heard.^yeah, they've DEFINITELY improved the guitars. You can feel the difference in the strum bar.The drums are on their 3rd hardware rev (serial numbers EL, QL, and SL maybe?). I've got the QL's and they work great. SL's are the newest, so not much is known about them.[Edited on February 14, 2008 at 3:30 PM. Reason : d]
2/14/2008 3:29:06 PM
^ if you saw that on kotaku, the people that did that did eventually get billed 125 for the extra guitar
2/14/2008 3:37:17 PM
^^i'm going to look at mine when i get home, but where might i find this SL, QL, etc?
