oh please come out for 8310
9/28/2009 10:11:07 PM
anything not work?
9/28/2009 10:11:33 PM
If it's anything like 5.0.0.230 for the storm, it's well worth the upgrade. Themes and some third party apps don't play well but everything else works great. BBM5 also doesn't work with the newer 5.0 OS's though. Not sure if it has the same issue I have with the media player but if you start playing music, it mutes on the 2nd song and you have to restart the player. I usually just fast forward to the end of the first song and everything works fine.[Edited on September 29, 2009 at 8:11 AM. Reason : ]

just looking at the front page of crackberry this morning, it would seem other phones aren't too far behind 5.0 (?)
9/29/2009 8:38:24 AM
The only thing that doesn't work so far is charging the phone from a USB port and the chrome charging pod which uses the little contacts on the bottom of the battery door. I have to plug a wall charger directly in...weird...The home screen icons don't look any different than 4.5 btwNow for the screenshots:Boot up screen:Bedside mode/clock:OS screen:Mobile network:Clock/alarm options:Ringtone/profile setup:Threaded text messages (FINALLY!):BBM home screen:New options for BBM:"Memory use" screen:"Memory use" screen (media card):"Memory use" screen (device memory):

yeah, the black boot screen is nice and the 5.0's seem to boot a good bit faster. Also remember to delete blackberry internal tools or whatever it's called from add/remove programs.[Edited on September 29, 2009 at 9:05 AM. Reason : ]

Yeah. I kept having to take back my storm for issues with the OS. I loaded .230 on my wife's storm this weekend and now I wish I had it back.Tour screen too small.
9/29/2009 9:15:46 AM
I'm sure she'll trade you her storm for a storm 2.

ooo I have a blackberry questions..should i get one?who has the best service? ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon?how much does it cost per month? probably very few minutes, and hopefully unlimited web/text.i have AT&T now, but i want to switch (not really, but getting two new blackberry's with verizon seems cool) and I pay like $70/mo for just phone calls (that i dont use) and texts (that i use a lot of).Oh yeah, and should i just wait for a new one to come out in a month or whenever they're supposed to?
9/29/2009 9:30:37 AM
i can't recommend the curve 8310 (ATT). it's just too dated and slow on the internets
9/29/2009 9:39:05 AM
you know you only get two BBs if you put a line on both of them right?
9/29/2009 9:43:07 AM
yeah, or if you get one of the more expensive ones (like $150) you can get a free mini computer thing. but then you pay for access to that for like $30/mo[Edited on September 29, 2009 at 9:46 AM. Reason : my sister and i share a plan anyways]
9/29/2009 9:46:06 AM
ha yeah. paying $100/month/phone kinda defeats the purpose of a free phone. And the laptop would be $59.99/month unless you go with the 250MB limit which is 39.99Sprint is going to have the cheaper service(69.99 for 450min, unlimited data/text, unlimited mobile to mobile on any network, and navigation, sprint radio, etc is included). Same plan on verizon is going to be about 100 and you pay extra for navigation and only have unlimited mobile to mobile on verizon. I'd wait though with the storm 2 and 9700 coming out before the end of the year.[Edited on September 29, 2009 at 9:50 AM. Reason : ]

I have been reading where the RIM has fixed the trackball problem with the Touranyone knowledgeable on this by any means
10/1/2009 4:31:08 PM
My third Tour tells me......meh.
10/2/2009 12:24:37 PM
why does my junk only hold like 8 pics?
10/3/2009 4:18:38 AM
Your camera is set to store to phone memory instead of sd card. Open the camera, then menu/options and change storage option to card.
10/3/2009 10:17:39 AM
if he has sd card in it...
10/3/2009 11:25:53 AM
ok BB Tour question:I got my tour less than a month ago... it lasted a good 1.5-2 days with the usage that i have been using it at first. It now completely goes dead within a day. What's up with that?
10/4/2009 2:31:40 PM
are you running apps on it? if so, which apps? I notice a huge difference in battery life with various apps on my tour.question: I have an app, ScoreMobile, that won't quit. I've had the app for about 3-4 weeks and haven't had this problem before. I can't close the fucking thing. I tried a full power-off and it was still open when it came on. I can hide it/ change screens, but it's always running in the background. Anyway to force it to quit?
10/4/2009 3:36:45 PM
try deleting it and reinstalling.^^ might have a bad battery which blackberries aren't known for the best battery life ever though. Light to moderate use, I usually get about 2 days on my storm and maybe a day with heavy use. Usually charge it every night. May want to try a newer OS. Battery life on the leaked 5.0 versions are pretty good.
10/4/2009 3:41:44 PM
If you're running Maps or Google Maps in the background, your GPS keeps updating your location and will kill your battery.
10/4/2009 3:49:13 PM
yeah, my gps was turned on... how do you check to see what apps are running in the background?
10/4/2009 9:08:30 PM
Hold alt+esc to bring up the Application switcherMost people just set it to the left-side button, though
10/5/2009 8:36:34 AM
Yeah, my left convenience key is the app switcher. And the only app I close when I'm finished is Maps/Google Maps. BB button--->Exit/Close instead of hitting End.
10/5/2009 9:10:56 AM
can anyone hook me up with the fallout bb theme?edit: nm found it![Edited on October 5, 2009 at 10:54 AM. Reason : .]
10/5/2009 10:32:53 AM
on the Tour (maybe others), you just have to hold down the menu button to bring up the app switcher. save the convenience key for something else.
10/5/2009 3:13:08 PM
yeah, think that works on most of them.[Edited on October 5, 2009 at 3:50 PM. Reason : ]
10/5/2009 3:50:17 PM
I think maybe that's just in the latest version of the OS
10/5/2009 4:08:25 PM
how do you program your side button? (tour)
10/6/2009 9:17:31 PM
Settings > Screen/Keyboard
10/6/2009 9:18:11 PM
when in the world are they going to have a DECENT browser for BB? and IMAP? sigh.
10/6/2009 9:33:26 PM
RIM bought Torch Mobile and there are rumors of a new browser next summer.
10/6/2009 9:41:45 PM
pity that it'd take so long. i've had a tour for 1.5 months now, or so, and i thoroughly despise the browser and lack of real mail sync.
10/6/2009 9:48:18 PM
opera mini 5 is pretty good. The email is fine for me and the 2 way gmail sync, etc shouldn't be too far away
10/6/2009 10:38:40 PM
BBM 5 is available in appworld now. Works with the new 5.0s
10/7/2009 8:44:54 PM
mail synch is off the chain with a BES server
10/7/2009 8:46:36 PM
welp...supposedly the storm2 is coming out next wednesday for $179 after mail-in rebate. Wonder how many people will go for that instead of one of the new androids.
10/23/2009 3:11:51 PM
watched an unboxing video of a Storm2 and if it functions as good in person as it did in the video, ill give this one a shot on weds. i am not really feeling the trackballs anymore, esp since i got hooked on touch hardware via my iPod touch...if this can even marginally keep up with that (it appears to be able to speed wise, maybe not UI wise) ill be fine with it.
10/26/2009 1:35:12 PM
Anyone else tried the official 5.0.0.328 release from Verizon? Still has a few little quirks but damn it's fast with almost zero lag.
10/26/2009 9:21:15 PM
updated to the newest version of Facebook on my tour and it will no longer save my password. Anyone else had this problem or have an idea of how to fix it?
10/27/2009 1:38:22 AM
any news on 5.0 for meid curves?
10/27/2009 1:59:06 AM
10/27/2009 7:24:20 AM
it's bullshit
10/27/2009 8:10:33 AM
u mad?
10/27/2009 8:27:05 AM
10/27/2009 10:09:42 AM
where do you go to get said new OS? i'm still a n00b to using BB's, and i don't feel like googling this morning.
10/27/2009 10:19:28 AM
http://crackberry.com is what i useup at the top, click forums then navigate to your phone. it might take a little searching depending on your phone, but generally OS versions are stickied and download links are in the first post of OS threads
10/27/2009 11:02:28 AM
Yeah, it's amazing what comes through at Crackberry. Too much stuff, sometimes. I think they out-rumor themselves.
