just got back from watching it in Winston-salem. the small theater was full of the exact type of people you'd expect (like myself). we laughed at just about everything. the atmosphere was fun.

the movie without the comedy atmosphere wouldn't be great. it reminded me a lot of Club Dread (same director maybe?)

I would recommend going to see it for the atmosphere, if you like that type of stuff.

Without Samuel L Jackson this movie would be absolutely awful. I still can't beleive he wanted to do it.

^^^I agree. It was a fun movie. That weren't that many people at the Raleigh Grande but for those that were, they were all into it. Some dude had some crazy plane hat with a snake popping out.

It's weird, my home theater was really really empty. About 20 people in a theater for 300 empty.

From an objective standpoint, this movie was implausable and wholly ridiculous (as it should be). But in an Army-of-Darkness fashion, I laughed for two hours straight, and the 20 of us in there had a great time hollering and clapping for Samuel L Jackson.

And did anyone notice that... uh... they don't actually give you leis when you LEAVE Hawai'i? There are about 1000 other plot holes I'd like to figure out, too. But there would be no point.

And that trailer for Black Snake Moan was filled with more SLJ hilarity, too. Even with Ricci's insane dye job.

i'm sure if you saw it anywhere else any other night it wouldn't have been as fun as it was at mission valley. if you didn't see it there tonight, you made the wrong choice and missed out.

"The funniest bit in the film happens after a confrontation about the heat in the airplane. The power abruptly cuts off, the lights go out, and in the background, you hear a character yell what just might be the funniest line in the past ten years of cinema. I won't spoil this for everyone, but just keep that in mind and listen for it. I was on the floor for minutes. This moment sums the film up perfectly, and, if you don't find it funny, chances are, you don't understand what the movie is all about."

i can't seem to remember what was said, someone enlighten me.

watched it at the grande. had a blasty blast. didn't watch it in the auditorium with the public but damn we enjoyed the hell out of it. I did stop in that auditorium to make a public annoucement prior to the start urging people to take snakes on a plane more seriously.

I would have never imagined in a million years that they got a plane full of mongoose up there and attached the two midflight....and the mongoose killed all the snakes.

Surprised the hell out of me.

I think the line was just "Motherfuckin' Snakes!", but I could be wrong. It was definately "[mumble mumble] snakes!"

was at the 9:45 showing at MV, thats the only way to see this movie, I had more fun than I've had in a long time. This is a great movie with a big group of people, and the booze helps. I imagine it would seem pretty awful with only like 10 people in a matinee showing or something

Just got back.

I have to say that this movie was actually better than I expected. They did everything right - it is pure comedy in a "this film is so bad it is ridiculous" way. I love that they didn't try to sell this movie as being serious - it is purely ridiculous entertainment. I highly recommend seeing this with a group of friends and just laugh at everything.

that movie was the most fun i have had watching a movie in a long time. it didnt take itself seriously, it was made for the fans, they added more snake violence n nudity and it was just a dont think and enjoy the movie kind of movie. who cares about plot holes, it was fun. worth the 7 bucks i paid definetely, our theater was hootin n hollerin n laughing, it was fun and thats what counts

***SPOILER***

My God, that first snake attack scene where it bit that woman on the nipple had my entire group of friends laughing really loud that we just missed it kill the other guy. And then the next victim where he bit the guy right on the dick, holy shit... I must say that this movie was everything I had hoped for and more.

You should have said "hi", as I didn't see you, but was there with FroshKiller, Sonia, SandSanta, and Shrike

Anyway, the only shitty part of the movie were the kids sitting next to us who thought they were funny as shit and at the end kept talking about how "their girl" was going to survive.
