4/26/2007 11:40:09 PM
i was about to say a fishin woman w/ a nice carolina hull would be hot as shit..but i'd be skeptical it wasn't really her boat.
4/27/2007 8:04:05 AM
I'd like to have a center console like this one day.
5/2/2007 2:01:31 AM
^ What are you doing at work at 2:00 a.m.?Anyone got a center console skiff in the 17' range they want to unload? No motor, no trailer necessary.
5/2/2007 2:04:01 AM

5/29/2007 6:58:09 PM
June 8th we get the rig back Too bad all I can fall in love with is larger Carolina Customs
5/29/2007 7:53:11 PM
ttt
6/9/2007 8:43:31 AM
looking at an old 24' albemarle tomorrow
6/10/2007 10:33:31 PM
Albie's are a sweet boat, and so is the 24. I'm just a fan of that engine box right in the cockpit. In other news, after the debacle this weekend, it looks like we are getting the rig back at the end of this week. Unfortunately, the weather might not cooperate.

what do yall think ofhttp://tinyurl.com/2zt4d8
6/19/2007 3:32:44 PM
doesn't seem badgreat mileage too
6/19/2007 3:49:32 PM
yeah.... stinks... 2 drives in the watter means crappier mileage but 1 means if your engine craps out... you're calling the coast guard.i think 1 diesel is a decent compromise.
6/19/2007 4:01:59 PM
I think so tooI went out 60 miles this weekend on a similar boatit was a nice comfortable relaxing ridedidn't burn hardly any fuel
6/19/2007 4:03:36 PM
i'd like to be able to chill in the gulf stream for the day...what size is this "small" boat?
6/19/2007 4:14:02 PM
the one I was on was 27' or 29'but 6 people were fine on it
6/19/2007 4:14:55 PM
read that wrong... i read it as smaller instead of similar.
6/19/2007 4:16:30 PM
bass boats are so dumb... i mean atleast fast deep vs can control themselves some... they're like strapping a rocket to a skipping stone.
6/19/2007 4:21:37 PM
what kind of power did it have? (pwrstkd)
6/19/2007 4:22:31 PM
single engine dieselwasn't that fastest thing out there... but we were fishing in about 2.5 hours
6/19/2007 4:24:02 PM
Single motors are fine...we did it for years in our small Grady. I have never been on a TW but they have a solid following. There is one guy who takes his out of OI, I see him all the time.
6/19/2007 7:24:02 PM
how much do those surplus boats normally go for?im lookin an old bass boat, center console or bayliner typeanyone know of any good deals?
6/19/2007 7:56:34 PM
what do you guys think of the DLV series Carolina SkiffI've pretty much made up my mind that I will buy one here soonI am either getting the 218 DLV, the 238 DLV, or the 258 DLVI like the twins on the 258, but what good is having twins when the fuel source is still the same tank/fuel pump/fliters/etc218 dlv238 dlv258
6/20/2007 11:43:03 AM
Twins probably wouldn't be necessary on that boat, just twice the maintenance. As far as the fuel, our boat runs both motors off the same fuel tank. Carolina Skiffs are good boats, but if you ever want to get into some offshore or farther inshore, you might not be as happy.
6/20/2007 5:12:50 PM
yeah, I'm not worried about being way offshore for nowI figured for the price, I can't beat one of these boats...as long as I can play inshore and fish near shore and up to a few miles out I'm good
6/20/2007 5:49:05 PM
anybody have any experience with the sundance skiffs or the ken craft skiffs?
6/21/2007 6:53:42 PM
i like that boat greg you could do a bit of everything with it -but agree that two motors might be a bit muchpersonally i'd get something smaller than most of you 4-stroke is a must as wellI worked in the fishing/boating industry for years - i dunno if you guys know how much fuel these things burn - hope you get sponsored or get a commercial license that allows you to sale your catchor that you're loaded and dont give a shit about money - fuck spending 200+ bucks for fishing a day[Edited on June 21, 2007 at 9:23 PM. 6/21/2007 9:21:01 PM
I don't know about you but i more often than not get more than $300 worth of fish when i go fishing for a day
6/21/2007 9:22:47 PM
do you sell the fish?
6/21/2007 9:23:54 PM
i've sold some on occasionbut i could eat fish non stop tooits my fave food. so....... yeah i get my $ worth typically [Edited on June 21, 2007 at 9:26 PM. Reason : .]
6/21/2007 9:25:23 PM
Word Caster, we spent $$$ last weekend and we didn't even make it off the dock.
6/21/2007 9:36:29 PM
well i guess you like frozen fish i guess my point is that we as 20-somethings shouldnt be spending money on boats like that unless you wanna get a 2nd mortgage (or live in an apt). but hey thats just my opinion - some of you guys might light 20 dollar bills on fire just for fun - i dunno.[Edited on June 21, 2007 at 9:41 PM. Reason : ^ sucks man but hey you were at the coast at least ]
6/21/2007 9:39:34 PM
fuck mortgages, houses, and kids.I'd rather rent an apt. and own a kickass offshore boat.
6/27/2007 11:37:51 AM
Anyone wanna help me wax the boat later this evening?
7/7/2007 4:05:06 PM
7/12/2007 9:22:28 PM
Just bought a 25' CC for offshore fishing. Wohoo! Can't wait to pick her up and take her out. Check my gallery for photos.[Edited on July 30, 2007 at 7:56 PM. Reason : ]

Nice fucking rig, let me know if you ever need a mate.
7/30/2007 8:29:06 PM
Thanks man, I'm really excited. It's an older boat, but solid as far as I can tell. 1985 25' HydraSport with 2 225 mercs. It'll go 50 mph easy with half tank and two men.
7/30/2007 8:46:54 PM
Yea, the older HS' are battle wagons.
7/30/2007 9:14:16 PM
