^activating? whats wrong with activating after 4.0?
4/8/2010 7:50:44 PM
thought you had to have a developer account to active a dev firmware?
4/8/2010 7:52:40 PM
oh yeah...you do. I didn't realize you were just talking about getting the firmware without having your iPhone added to a dev account.
4/8/2010 7:58:24 PM
I'm so glad that my iPhone will now give me the final feature I missed from my old LG Shine. Putting on a freaking personal background!!!The folders are gonna be nice too, although outside of using Pandora the multitasking will be fairly lost on me.

flash support.where the fuck is it?
4/9/2010 12:46:14 AM
Where it belongs.

agreed
4/9/2010 8:02:26 AM
...where does it belong, on android?
4/9/2010 8:06:18 AM
it needs to die already
4/9/2010 8:12:07 AM
it's not going to happen. i think jobs made that fairly clear. stop talking about it.
4/9/2010 8:25:26 AM
^^^ dead and buried along with ISA slots, floppy disks, PS/2 ports and Windows ME. Technology marches on and flash has always been a lousy product.

^^^ As long as HTML5 doesn't support ads and DRM, Flash will have it's place.^ I wonder if we'll get to a point where Adobe will just play hardball and hold back CS5 from OSX.[Edited on April 9, 2010 at 2:58 PM. Reason : .]

Unless Adobe grows some balls I can't see them doing anything but taking this on the chin.I would LOVE for Adobe to not release CS5 for OSX; but I can't see that happening.
4/9/2010 3:03:20 PM
it would be funny cause all the mac users would just run the windows version in a VM.
4/9/2010 3:05:06 PM
Adobe blog speaks on it...http://theflashblog.com/?p=1888
4/9/2010 3:07:08 PM
Wishing that they wouldn't release CS5 for Mac is retarded. If you are so butthurt for Adobe then as the blogger says...don't give another cent to Apple. Its really that simple. There are a number of non-apple platforms you can go to instead of the iPhone/iPad. Why people go out of their way to point out their dislike for Apple and their products baffles me. There are a number of companies out there who I steer clear from and don't waste a moment of my time talking about either.I use Adobe products (not flash) daily on my Macbook Pro which have nothing to do with iPhone OS and their closed ecosystem (App Store) so why should I care about Adobe/Apple battle over the iPhone and HTML5/Flash?Adobe still gets my money as well as Apple because of CS.Their iPhone app is pretty nice btw and free, but nothing in terms of Brushes or Sketch Pro.[Edited on April 9, 2010 at 3:16 PM. and at the same time fucking over many other groups and developers. The 'you don't like how we do things here? then git out!' response is fucking retarded and completely misses the significance of what Apple is doing with this.I should say what Apple seems to be doing with this. Its still in beta and can change.
4/9/2010 3:25:23 PM
Flash is shitty...I wouldn't want it on any mobile device. If thats too difficult for someone to grasp boo on them. If you've ever worked with flash and developed for flash you'd understand.Adobe either needs to step up and address these issues or give up on Flash and focus on everything else they do thats not flash. But regardless on personal feelings on Flash...Adobe Flash sales might be affected but their other product lines won't.We also don't know why Apple has gone this route. It would appear that there might have been a time where Adobe/Apple were talking but that quickly went to shit. Why? We don't know...maybe because Adobe stood by their shitty product and said we aren't changing a thing? *shrug* who knows...At the end of the day Apple will either screw themselves over with this move or nobody will care. Developers have the choice to either abandon iPhone OS as a development platform because of their hurt feelings with Adobe or they'll continue to work in XCode. There is clearly no shortage of developers willing to work in XCode.[Edited on April 9, 2010 at 3:30 PM. Reason : .]

Flash sucks on Macs. It's not bad on PCs. If it were as bad as Apple wants you to think, you wouldn't see YouTube, Hulu, etc. using it. It wouldn't have powered internet video out of the stone age.
4/9/2010 3:29:23 PM
This isn't about putting flash on the iphone though. Its about using non-apple tools to generate the same code that xcode does. If the resulting code is no good, then they'll catch it in their approval process. If its fine, then why do they care if it was developed in xcode or not? In fact, how would they even know? Its just about being dicks.

Stein, you are trying too hard with the troll here. I am not seeing the results you want me to see because they aren't there. You have made it very clear that HTML5 isn't finalized yet and not even close to it.Flash has been around for how long? Long enough to be on Version 10.xHTML5 hasn't even matured yet but it still out performs Flash on a Mac. And all I see windows side is potential for when things are finalized.I get it, you are stuck in your ways and thats fine...hell you think IE6 is the greatest browser of all time. Everyones entitled to their own opinion.
4/9/2010 3:46:23 PM

10.1 isn't officially out yet, though it just goes to show that Flash being poor on OSX isn't 100% Adobe's fault.
4/9/2010 3:55:09 PM
If Apple just came out and said, "We don't want people watching video in safari mobile, we want content providers to create apps that play their video content. We make money off apps, we don't make money off shit people view in safari mobile.", then I'd probably respect their decision to not support it.But this jihad vs. Flash that they've started is just retarded, and there is no point or justification for it outside of the aforementioned desire to make more money.
