at what point should BO start to worry about serious hot water?
5/17/2013 7:33:29 PM
^not when half the country either doesn't pay attention or thinks like ^^.
5/17/2013 8:53:51 PM
Thinks like what? Are you saying the originally reported quotes are not incorrect?
5/17/2013 10:24:12 PM
Thinks like you-I think it's safe to say at least half the country thinks the originally reported quotes are incorrect. Why are you so anxious to jump down everybody's throat? Why do you use double negatives?
5/17/2013 10:53:43 PM
Because I posted something showing how they were incorrect, and he seems to be implying that they were not incorrect. The double negative is the most effective at highlighting that; if you have a problem with the double negative, go tell it to Chaucer.

It will probably go up when the manufactured, fake controversy blows up in Republicans faces(and all the while, everyone ignores Obamas real crimes)
5/19/2013 1:40:24 PM
fake controversy? blatantly politically motivated audits, massive wiretapping of press phones? That's not fucking fake controversy
5/19/2013 2:00:59 PM
This president is beyond such petty things. Or rather he was playing golf or attending a convocation while subordinates mishandled things. In that case he is completely absolved, except oh yeah he's the chief executive.Whatever happened to presidents like LBJ who micromanaged their governments obsessively and manhandled anyone who was under-performing?I guess LBJ didnt have to worry about his high scores on Xbox Live or whatever the hell it is Obama fills his time with. Maybe the government truly is too large to name a single executive?Or at least we can levy that Obama has surrounded himself with piss-poor folks? At least.
5/19/2013 3:16:20 PM
He went campaigning in Vegas the day after Benghazi. Involved or not, this should not have happened. Its obvious all he knows how to do is campaign. His presidency has been nothing more than a year Democratic campaign, with a smidge of Obamacare and failed gun control in the mix.
5/19/2013 3:49:47 PM
it sounds like you're saying the scandal is that his campaigning was bad optics?
5/19/2013 5:34:43 PM
When the manufactured story doesn't stick, you just got to throw everything else against the wall and see what does.
5/19/2013 6:40:57 PM
I'm not particularly giving a fuck about Benghazi. Sure, he hid some of the nasty details for political gain. He's a politician. Get over it.
5/19/2013 6:43:32 PM
^^^^You mean shrinking unemployment and shrinking deficit were nothing? We passed several milestones in terms of gay rights, history will likely see him as THE president that made gay rights happen. Technically we are in less wars than we were. Osama is dead. NASA seems to be doing well. Obama overall has done a adequate job, he's help fixed the problems people were most worried about when he was elected. By the numbers, he's been FAR better than Bush. He hasn't done anything great, but he's always been a pragmatist. One of his mantras is don't let the best be the enemy of the good.[Edited on May 19, 2013 at 8:13 PM. Reason : ]
5/19/2013 8:12:05 PM
hahahahaha NASAYou went there? NASA? He stripped down NASA and now has them teaching algebra to the very people who fucking invented it.Gay rights? Supporting marriage for a small minority of this country does not exactly spell out milestone. GDP is growing at a sluggish rate. Economy is improving just like any economy (sans Japan) would after such a huge meltdown.Osama is dead due to the same methods that Obama cut out. Any president in his seat would have made the same call.I'll give him the "less wars" but again, this was something that was bound to happen anyway. He shouldn't get sole credit for it. You know, I would love to see Bill Clinton come back. As a conservative I would welcome him back with open arms. At least his head wasn't so big that he couldn't work with the other side.
5/19/2013 8:51:07 PM
There is so much wrong in that post I can't even begin to unpack it all.
5/19/2013 9:10:51 PM
i like obama. but NASA is definitely NOT doing well. they are struggling mightily. talk to anyone who works for nasa.
5/19/2013 9:47:46 PM
i thought Republicans didn't like government agencies, why are they upset about NASA?
5/19/2013 10:19:10 PM
^^Is it surprising? It demonstrates what's wrong with politics and why these scandals haven't taken a toll much on the scandals. The right has been constantly hammering Obama from day 1, about his birthplace and birth certificate, saying he wants death panels, talking about teleprompters, yelling during his SOTU, etc, its hard to take their bellyaching seriously, when in the past it's been so foolish. It should be pretty obvious that a republican wouldn't have been so open about gays, wouldn't have reversed bush's stem cell research ban, and historically they haven't been as good for the debt and deficits as democrats.

5/20/2013 9:35:15 AM
5/20/2013 10:14:45 AM
idk how much blame for nasa falls at obamas feet. they've been hamstrung more by congress and internal politics. like sure Obama could probably help them out if he wanted to, but its not a priority for him. that's not the same as being actively anti-nasa.
5/20/2013 10:55:46 AM
I think it's hard to portray Obama in a positive fashion concerning NASA after the cancellation of the Constellation program.IMO
5/20/2013 4:17:50 PM
Regarding manufacturing of craft, Congress's rules were too restrictive on what NASA could do, and where. The public-private parternship for new craft development makes more sense, because NASA is paying for a large part of it, but aren't saddled with the absurd requirements congress imposes on their manufacturing.
5/20/2013 4:39:00 PM
yeah outsourcing routine launches to private companies with established track records is great. it saves money and generates expertise outside nasa.there are still problems congress has forced onto nasa (like requiring they reuse space shuttle parts to ensure nobid contracts for existing vendors), but i wouldn't blame Obama for that. i mean yeah, sure it would be nice if Obama was more pro-science in general, but congress and his party want him elsewhere.[Edited on May 20, 2013 at 4:56 PM. 5/20/2013 5:00:33 PM
^^it's funny that most people think that nasa is just the manned space program. they're usually the ones who actually avoid a large part of budget cuts because most people don't think about all the other things that nasa is a part of (and used to be a leader in). there are lots of nasa wind tunnels for instance that have been mothballed and will cost an exhorbitant amount to start back up again, to say nothing of the time to re-learn all the institutional knowledge that is lost when the people who ran those facilities leave, never to return. many of these facilities played roles in developing our space and experimental aircraft.zooming out a bit from that, the best and brightest aren't taking jobs at NASA anymore because it just doesn't seem like a safe bet for a long term job. just look at the average age of most NASA employees.[Edited on May 20, 2013 at 6:50 PM.
