lol "Mexican born in California". Interesting way to describe an American.

He played for US youth teams and lived here for 15 years. But USSF is a dumpster fire of an organization and Mexico wanted him. Also heavily influenced by Mexican father.

So USSF President elections are Saturday

Who does everyone think will win and who do you think would help push US Soccer to the next level.

I think Kathy Carter probably wins but that will be good for Dan Garber and MLS only IMO.

I know the AO are high on Wynalda and Martino, I think they would be formidable but will take split the vote of the people that want an "outsider".

I know who doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell and that is Hope Solo

I don't think Hope Solo would be good. For some reason I feel like if she became president there would be a lot of focus on equal pay for female players, women's rights, and a lot of other social issues that probably don't need to be the number 1 focus right now.

Why are people buying tickets to US soccer? It baffles me. You're enabling a shitty program. Take that money and donate to the youth program if you feel like you still need to support the future.

Can you only get certain sections? I am trying to buy sections that show available and it keeps saying "sorry we can't process your request".

I understand that but I used the C3Bold code which says it unlocked seats but when you go to buy them none of them work.

I wound up buying two. Haven’t been to the stadium since they played Jamaica with Tony Meola as the goalie.

1-0 Win, team still lack direction but the youngsters looked promising. We could be really strong at CB by the next WC cycle, still inconsistent with ST/CF.

So CONCACAF's World Cup teams were pretty disastrous yesterday. Losing by a combined total of 8-0, I know they are Friendlies but these were all against WC Qualified Teams.

Solid crowd last night. Really liked seeing so many kids and teenagers there - that's the future of the program and it was a really positive sign.

The game itself was a struggle. Really poor passing and setup. Just a little bit of Paraguay pressure sent the ball back to goal for a reset and that shouldn't happen.

Not the worst hire. We probably should have brought Arena back sooner and then we may have made the 2018 World Cup. We don't need some European coach playing our players out of position and getting all fancy with the formations. As one article said right after we were eliminated, in the past the USA had success outworking the other team and we lost that mentality/style last cycle.

There's no more appropriate summary of US Soccer at the moment than the fact it took over a year to hire...this guy.

So after that disastrous friendly against Jamaica, Berhalter drops Josh Sargent who I can't help but think needs international experience. If you weren't going to use him for Gold Cup should have let him stay with the U20 squad and get experience there.

While Sargent didn't have the best game, Wil Trapp was fucking awful and he made squad. I am sure that had nothing to do with the fact that he was Berhalter's golden boy at Columbus.
