more like this. The lawn outside Hinton James dorm on sunny weekends is chock full of them. I went to high school in Chapel Hill and I remember walking around campus thinking "this is too many" and walking into stationary objects. The only place I have seen that surpasses it is marion square in charleston which is packed full of college of charleston ladies laying out in swimsuits.

Anyway, my point was that at that age, that shit was way more persuasive than anything some assistant coach might say about my future or career.

if you're looking at it from the standpoint of wanting to be a future nfl player, none of the NC schools are a great choice

well, maybe except for QB. we've done a pretty damn good job there

and i guess unc is a decent place to go if you're a really athletic DLineman who isn't actually good at football

More solid recruits picking unc over nc state

It's just us and WF with the big goose egg on verbals in the ACC. I cant wait until we get our next football coach.

i don't think i believe you. what does your sign say?

and anytime they talk about their recruiting class, you know you can trump them with "scoreboard" or "record"

not having a single recruit is frustrating, but jeez, it's only March 2012.

they've always recruited better than us, doesnt seem to help that much. you should get some thicker skin if it bothers you that much

Francis was recruited as a RB while Switzer is going to be an A-back. Francis helped recruit Switzer to UNC.

he'll be the only RB

but they'll bring in an A-Back, B-Back, H-Back, HB and FB also

I forgot that we're calling basic logic a "conspiracy theory" now. Nevermind that the kid from Durham is supposedly recruiting the kid from West Virginia to play the same position. Oh right, the kid from WV is going to be an "A-Back" because Fedora is running the triple option now.

Again, they aren't being recruited to play the same position. Also, the A-back is not a position only seen in the triple option offense. It's basically just a hybrid RB/WR. Fedora's A-back this past season got plenty of touches with 91 carries and 47 receptions.

At best it's a technicality, at worst it's a flat out lie. Of course Fedora isn't going to go around admitting he lied to a recruit right off the bat.

http://www.backingthepack.com/2012/4/12/2944265/would-you-or-anyone-you-know-like-to-play-nc-state-football

Quote :
" As you may have heard, NC State football is having a wee bit of difficulty in getting high school football players to agree to want to go to Raleigh in 2013. Here is a recap of our recruiting efforts so far:

I was curious how abnormal it is to have zero commitments in mid-April, so I examined the 2013 commitment lists for all of the BCS schools, as well as Notre Dame, BYU, TCU, and Boise State. (All data is from the Scout.com database.)

Of those 70 schools, only 12 don't have a commitment for 2013 at this point. They are listed below, with key drawbacks--proven by science--listed in parentheses.

NC State (warm milk)
Wake Forest (no sexy)
Kentucky (is Kentucky)
Arizona State (new scumbag head coach)
Oregon State (I don't know, that guy over there, probably)
Iowa State (obviously)
Washington State (disturbingly close to Idaho)
Northwestern (Princeton offense)
Purdue (insufficient mustache)
Indiana (no clue how to football)
West Virginia (dystopian char-scape)
Syracuse (tundra)

All told, there are a total of 272 commitments in Scout's database spread across the 58 schools that actually have commitments, which comes out to 4.7 per school. (It's 3.9 per school including all 70 schools.) Six schools have at least 10 commitments already and they are, as you might expect, big name programs: Texas, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and Florida. Michigan has 17 commitments, with nine four-star recruits and three five-star recruits.

The rest of the ACC:

1 commitment: Maryland, Georgia Tech

2 commitments: Boston College

3 commitments: Virginia, Virginia Tech

5 commitments: Duke, Miami

6 commitments: Clemson

8 commitments: Florida State, UNC

It's disappointing that NC State hasn't been able to create much momentum on the recruiting trail despite two consecutive bowl seasons, not to mention being one win away from the ACC Championship game in 2010. Additionally, State has new and impressive (or at least competitive) football facilities, and our biggest in-state rival just went through a huge scandal. The right staff would have been able to capitalize on these circumstances, but I'm afraid we had one of the worst possible fits for the situation. I'm not saying they are bad football coaches, mind you, just that this was not the group to really get after it on the recruiting trail and use the last couple of years as a turning point."

isn't tob known for rarely offering until a recruit attends a camp? it's april, i'll wait until the summer to care. i've been pretty happy with the staff's last few classes, building depth and finding some talent. but it's about time to start picking up a few more 4 & 5 *s!

There's also the practice fields, the pressbox, the north end zone, the new HD scoreboard. It's not all brand new, but if you went through the ACC schools, we're still up near the top as far as newest, up-to-datest, whatever, buildings go. At least I think we are.
