ye, I've done all of that except for the last bit about adding the MMS info for your carrier under the "cellular data network" tab. That tab does not exist. However everything else looks like it installed properly. When i send a text I have the option of taking a pic to attach to my message.

Final Fantasy I/II refabs look and sound amazing. Controls are sometimes buggy, but otherwise very solid
2/28/2010 11:30:25 PM
Touch recognition on my iPhone is all fucked up.Awesome
3/1/2010 10:00:07 AM
Is there an app for that?Oftentimes I'll get text messages while I'm at my laptop, and ideally I'd like to respond to it using my laptop as an interface. either leveraging bluetooth, wifi connectivity, or even wired through USB. Does this exist today (without some weird hack)?
3/1/2010 1:24:14 PM
^ im gonna go out on a limb and say 'no'for anyone tho likes NPR, the NPD Addict is pretty awesome
3/1/2010 1:34:43 PM
^You mean NPR Addict? I'm assuming it's just like the NPR News app. Lets you listen to podcasts and local radio stations anywhere in the US. I love using it while on road trips because you don't have to search for the local NPR station every hour or so. One continuous station.
3/1/2010 2:07:56 PM
Oooh I will have to get that one. Right now I just have the one for WUNC that lets me listen to their station easily.
3/1/2010 3:27:07 PM
so how are the NPR News and NPR addict apps different? i know addict doesn't let you stream live...
3/1/2010 3:36:29 PM
anyone else having issues with gmail push? I am still running on 3.1.2
3/1/2010 6:38:30 PM
^ yes, and also exchange push. I think this might be a downside to using AddExchange so that I can have both push Exchange and push Gmail on my phone...very erratic downloading of new emails. Also the whole phone seems really slow and sluggish. I wish I could trade in my 3G for a 3GS!
3/1/2010 6:55:54 PM
My gmail push hasn't been working today either.
3/1/2010 7:03:57 PM
so, treetwista is the resident blackberry expert, who is the iphone guru?
3/1/2010 7:30:48 PM
definitely going to pick up the final fantasy games for my next long airplane flight
3/1/2010 8:27:13 PM

3/1/2010 8:42:13 PM
so there's no other difference b/w NPR News & NPR Addict than the streaming thing?

The IM/SMS one is my favorite haha
3/2/2010 12:03:18 PM
Beside that one, how about that they patented putting a phone in your pocket?
3/2/2010 12:04:55 PM
While amusing, this isn't anything new or ground breaking. Every company does this.
3/2/2010 12:07:21 PM
3/2/2010 12:59:10 PM
voicemail
3/2/2010 1:32:02 PM
heh sorry.Had a question. Do any of you guys use meebo or beejive or any of the clients that keep you logged in on their servers and notify you when you get a chat? gchat works great because their jabber protocol is smart enough to know which ip you're sending from and it won't send duplicate messages to both your phone and your computer, but on aim and facebook (even using facebook jabber) i still get duplicate messages. I assume there's no way to fix that unless they switch it to how google does jabber. Did some googling, haven't really figured it out, other than with gchat it's called setting the jabber priority.
3/2/2010 6:08:51 PM
I use meebo and love their iPhone app. It's by far the best and cleanest chat app I've used. I use it for aim and gchat
3/2/2010 6:20:00 PM
^So you're aware of the issue everyone is having? If you're logged into meebo on the iphone and then log onto aim on your desktop, when someone sends you a message it sends it both to the iphone and the desktop aim client? Whereas with gchat it'll send it to both, then whichever client starts responding it'll only send the responses to the active one?
3/2/2010 6:21:33 PM
yes i am aware and its not an issue for me.
3/2/2010 6:43:17 PM
3/2/2010 7:42:28 PM
ah neato. I'll have to check that out. Thanks.Ok now facebook via jabber still sends messages to all devices despite one being away and one being available. Guess i can live with that. [Edited on March 2, 2010 at 8:20 PM. Reason : l]

i'll be honest herei'm pretty damn sick of the iPhone not supporting multitaskingi'll be in the middle of a long game, in the middle of a long listening session (eg: NPR Addict), and BAM i'll get a call and the app is done, with no way to resume. so i have to put in another 20-30 minutes to get my game back where it was, or open my listening app back up and try to find where the hell i was before my call interrupted me.granted i could put my phone in airplane mode, but that's an undue hardship on the user.granted the app developers could program a way to graceful pause/resume (which a few do), BOTH automatically or manually, but you can't expect every app developer to do that extra work to get their app to market.in the end it's pretty dumb, especially when so other competing platforms support multitasking. hopefully their next phone/major OR version will support multitasking. i've almost gotten used to the lack of actual multitasking, and can possibly live with my device being a simple collection of applications that can't run concurrently, but at the very least this pause/resume thing needs to be fixed.[/rant]ps: i finally sprang for logmein ignition and it works beautifully. though some of the free VNC apps might work as well, i did the logmein thing since i have a bunch of accounts set up there]

Probably the biggest reason I jailbroke was for backgrounder. Allows you to run any app in the background by holding the home button for a couple seconds. Use it daily for running with runmeter and pandora. Puts a little symbol next to the icon to show you it's running. Yeah logmein works amazingly well on the iphone. Much better than the other free apps. I use it all the time to queue up downloads before i get home.[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 9:48 PM. Reason : j]

sbsettings and the 5 row icon / dock are the only things i even want anymore from jailbreaking.
3/3/2010 8:54:43 PM
Sbssettings and multiple exchange accounts
3/3/2010 11:46:41 PM
^^sbsettings and 5 icon dock are defin. essential. backgrounder too though. can't do without.
3/4/2010 1:58:40 AM
5 row icon / dock is the only thing I miss from unjailbreaking.
3/4/2010 4:01:19 PM
Anyone else getting dropped phone calls all over the place today? I can't talk longer than 30 seconds without the call dropping.
3/10/2010 7:16:32 PM
^^ I miss Backgrounder, and the text thing that let you text within any program.I know its old, but just looked into Evernote, very fucking handy
3/11/2010 2:23:35 AM
Finally upgraded my ipod touch and itunes. Now it's having all sorts of problems being recognized by itunes on Windows 7.
3/14/2010 2:48:07 PM
I would kill for the ability to jump to the bottom of a page automatically. Someone pelase tell me this exists and I just don't know about it
3/15/2010 1:30:18 PM
just turn it upside down and gravity will take care of it
3/15/2010 1:31:52 PM
^^If you are viewing TWW on your iPhone just click 'go to bottom'...problem solved
3/15/2010 1:37:17 PM
hehe..yeahh i always miss and end up hitting something elsebut i agree.. an easy way to go to the end of pages would be nice (other than tdub)

for the next version of the iPhone, is there any talk about an LED that lights up with you have a notification (missed call/text/whatever you want to define). My blackberry has this feature, and I love it. And I seem to remember the Pre having it to. Why isn't apple including this functionality?
3/16/2010 9:55:19 AM
3/16/2010 10:18:12 AM
and since we've been talking radio stations on this page, I have to recommend ooTunes. You can listen to pretty much any radio station in the US (AM and FM), and a bunch of overseas stations too. it's 5 bucks or something like that, but I think it's worth the $.^
3/16/2010 10:51:20 AM
When the fudge are there actually going to be details for the next iPhone? I WANT TO KNOW OK.

^ all ive been able to find are bits and pieces, mostly related to future OS's and not hardware. most importantly it looks like they're addressing the multi-tasking issue in OS 4.0, so that's pretty badass (and long overdue).http://www.pdablast.com/articles/2010/3/2010311-New-gestures-coming-to.htmlhttp://www.businessinsider.com/apple-developing-multi-tasking-support-for-the-next-iphone-2010-3http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/10855.htmlhttp://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/techchron/detail?&entry_id=58974http://www.mobilemag.com/2010/03/12/message-to-iphone-owners-will-you-buy-the-next-4g-version/http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-18438_7-10466314-82.html
