im still pissed that rick wasted two assault rifle clips and ran out of bullets and didn't kill Negan. WTFthis show makes me angry

why were they suddenly struggling to kill walkers?
3/27/2018 8:29:29 AM
^^If anything, what they are doing now makes more sense. A dead body and all the fluids within it, when exposed to the elements like that would be crawling with all sorts of nasty bacteria and stuff, so it does make sense that getting zombie blood in an open wound would cause it to become infected. You are correct though, they've gone 8 years getting it all over themselves, all over their eyes/mouths/etc. I can't remember the exact scene, but I remember one episode back when I think Shane was alive that he had a knife already covered in zombie guts that he used to cut his hand to draw zombies away from something. No issue there, just threw some rubbing alcohol on it and bandaged it up. AND even if it was an infection, it would take days for a person to die from that.
3/27/2018 9:01:14 AM
^^That annoyed me too, but that one at least was PLAUSIBLE. The people struggling weren't proven fighters. The people struggling didn't have any weapons(also, why the fuck wouldn't you sleep with a weapon given this environment??) While we can see because of movie magic, I'd imagine it would be almost pitch black in that house given no electricity, no ambient light, and some of the rooms didn't seem to have candles going. They seemed to kill them easier once someone shined a flashlight on the walkers. I give up trying to understand the zombie blood infection crap. I understand coating the weapons, because realistically, an open wound with zombie guts/blood SHOULD lead to an infection. But the rate of infection/death in this world is impossible to keep up with because the writers just bend it to their will each given episode. Tainting the weapons is a great idea, even if you just clip someone or hit someone on the arm/leg, you have a better chance at them dying later. If nothing else it's a terror tactic that I imagine would be fairly effective. But let it take a couple of days or something, let it at least somewhat fit into this world they've created.

SPOILERS^^^all the zombies were fresh zombies, with fully functional muscles. Especially Tobin, who was a huge 300 lb man.All in all, this past week's episode was so freaking stupid in so many ways. All those people getting bitten, but not screaming? Nobody wakes up with that walker FALLS DOWN the stairs? And how did that kid get his hands on the prisoner pen key? I feel like that's something Maggie would wear 24/7. Nevermind the stupidity of going inside the pen when you could just easily shoot them through the fence.END SPOILERS

This definitely is my last season. I promised myself to never get into a shitty series again.
3/27/2018 11:32:34 AM
I stopped last season, but still like checking in on this thread from time to time to see if it's worth getting back into. I'm glad I dropped it when I did, sounds like it's more of the same shit they've been doing for a few seasons.

How did the kid even get that key? I think even a kid would know he doesn't have to go inside the fence to shoot them.As for guards, seems obvious you should have guards in the infirmary 100% of the time.
3/28/2018 12:09:27 PM
plot oversight that must be done to advance the plot, breaking the legs of common sensealso, everyone turning at the same time = stupid, they even made a point early on to say that some people turn in hours, some daysbut when they show needs to it be all at once, the writers just lose their heads
3/28/2018 12:11:53 PM
Also, guards on the prisoners. The prison enclosure fence is literally just some wire and posts. Without anyone watching them at night, how difficult would it be for them to climb over?
3/28/2018 3:18:41 PM
Plot holes aside, there were some pretty good tense moments (like when the walkers were creeping into the sleeping house). I did like Maggie's internal struggle of getting revenge vs sacrificing more hilltop lives (especially compared to Rick's own crusade of revenge). I can use some head canon to get past the plot holes. Perhaps the virus has mutated or become more virulent after incubating in a corpse for an extended period and can turn people faster or be more easily transferable. They had cut the generators, so the guards may have had trouble seeing the walkers (and people in the house definitely did not have any light). The guards may have also been focused on activity outside the walls instead of inside (there were lots of walkers collecting at the walls). I don't expect this show to be ideal writing, but instead like the suspense, gore, and exploration of a familiar yet very different world (and have hope that the show will be more consistent and get new life with the new showrunner).I also want to see Negan vs Simon now that Simon has assumed control, but Negan is stuck with Jadis and it will probably be some time until this showdown.

4/15 is finale. Doubleheader that night with FTWD.

damn Rick, that was coldthat one dude's leg was broken completely offand I looks white trash savior finally got his, because he lost his heada man's word has gotta be worth something, right?

Can't believe that junkyard lady let Negan go. And wtf was she originally planning on doing? Wheelbarrow full of salt, bag full of guns, and one flare. Then that weird trolly zombie thing.[Edited on April 2, 2018 at 12:00 PM. Reason : ]
4/2/2018 11:59:45 AM
That episode got dark in a hurry. And yeah Jadis WTF was that?
4/2/2018 2:35:17 PM
So who’s in the car with negan?
4/2/2018 8:55:00 PM
my first thought it was the woman who knew Dwight was a traitor , Negan said not to tell anyone he was here, talking about the "truth" and then the preview for next week has Dwight walking out to Negan whistling, which further confirms itwhich means no way its her because of the whole watch the left hand while the right hand gets ready to break your leg after you lose your head shit]
4/2/2018 10:08:25 PM
While back with the Saviors, Dwight has done nothing to indicate that he has switched teams. Yeah, he shot Tarra with the arrow before Simon got to her, but as far as Simon knows, it was an infected arrow so she is as good as dead. So Negan watching him from a distance wouldn't reveal anything and it would be the Savior woman's word vs. Dwight's. Unless she somehow has evidence.
4/3/2018 8:57:44 AM
I guess her word is good enough, just like Rick's is.Looks like Simon's group totally lost their heads and Negan used Dwight to break the legs out from under it.And Rick is walking into a trap. I'm guessing Morgan is going to go berserker and decide it's time to wander into the wilderness to find himself again, and see what else there is to fear
4/9/2018 9:47:23 AM
Remember when this used to be one of the most talked about shows on TV? How you had to avoid social media and message boards until you saw the episode in fear of spoilers? Does anyone feel that way about this show anymore?Feels like the show is either going to have to REALLY change the overall direction(new writers please) or it won't last much more than another season.
4/10/2018 9:22:07 AM
4/10/2018 10:05:05 AM
this week was the first okay episode in a long time
4/10/2018 1:11:45 PM
Anyone else wondering how AMC is going to pull off the Morgan transfer to FTWD?FTWD is chronologically far behind TWD. Then add in Morgan having to travel across the entire continent and that further muddies the water here.Only way I see this working is if FTWD's new season starts far ahead of last season. Which is dumb.
4/10/2018 1:12:39 PM
I think they'll just have him show up as a ninja with a big shrug to people asking what you're asking. I also like how they've currently got this plot line going on where they try and get us to wonder what he's going to do, cut to preview of him joining the other group on the other side of the country
4/10/2018 2:37:24 PM
Guessing the FTWD people will be migrating East and he'll be heading West and meet somewhere in the middle?
4/10/2018 3:01:06 PM
What the hell was that?
4/16/2018 12:07:58 AM
Maggie turning heel?
4/16/2018 8:57:15 AM
I get that Maggie/other folks want Negan dead but the way they are talking about it seems WAY out of character. They act like they are gonna attack Rick if he gets in the way when all it would really take is Daryl strolling up to his prison cell in the middle of the night and putting a crossbow bolt in his head.
4/16/2018 9:25:20 AM
The whole idea of Rick not discussing the whole idea of keeping him alive with everyone and doing it as a team isn't terribly believable at this point. And yeah, so is the idea that they're talking like they're going to attack Rick's community if that's what they have to do
4/16/2018 11:51:55 AM
Such a frustrating episode.****SPOILERS***Eugene's gone full bad guy now everyone...PSYCH! Gabriel's days are numbered, he's blind now...PSYCH! Negan is finally getting what he deserves...PSYCH!Dwight didn't betray them, they'll understand...PSYCH! The Women's Liberation Front will never fight...PSYCH! Garbage Pail Kids are done and their leader is gone...PSYCH!We'll all live happily ever after now...PSYCH! Also...that was Negan's big "end the war" force and it was like 10 people at Hilltop and 30 or so against Rick's crew? Really? Also, this intern doctor was able to stop a sliced throat in a field with no blood on hand and little to no actual training? Seriously? No way he survives that. Such an anticlimactic end to a fairly irrelevant season. ****SPOILERS****
4/16/2018 2:41:11 PM
^Yep. Why didn't Eugene just tell Rosita when she tried to kidnap him that he was gonna sabotage the bullets? wtf did Gabriel think was gonna happen when he jumped out of the car? Did he really think that even if he got away, he was gonna get to Alexandria/Hilltop on foot while blind in a forest full of zombies BEFORE Negan's team did? Oceanside folks just happened to show up at Hilltop at the exact time to catch Negan's people by surprise with a bunch of Molotov Cocktails? If they had come 10 seconds earlier, Negan's peeps would have just shot them on sight. And if they hadn't even come at all, Tara and her band of merry misfits had automatic weapons trained on them from like 20 ft away. Would have killed them all in less than 10 seconds anyway. Also, no explanation on why Oceanside peeps changed their mind? Last we saw, they found Aaron starving/dying of thirst in the woods and barely even acknowledged him.
4/16/2018 3:39:36 PM
So here's the deal for next season. The first half of the season will be Rick trying to keep Negan alive against Daryl, Maggie and Jesus. They'll be split from the group, obviously, and tensions will come to a head at the mid season finale. Right when we think Maggie/Daryl/Jesus are really going to come to blows with Rick, whoever owns that helicopter is going to come in, rain down hell. The premiere after midseason will have Maggie/Daryl/Jesus making up with Rick in order to combat yet another bad group.
4/16/2018 8:15:42 PM
Hopefully the new show runner will put some god damn sense into this shit show next year.
4/16/2018 8:22:36 PM
4/16/2018 9:01:01 PM
Oh and I assume they aren't planning go give Negan yard time or regular visitors, so instead of killing him they give life long torture. Very generous
4/16/2018 9:32:15 PM
Yeah I feel like there are a few directions the next season could choose to focus. 1.) The people that brought the DIY book to building a future. Really opens up for a lot of opportunities. 2.) The helicopter. Some solid mystery here and gives them some options. 3.) Maggie's Revenge. 4.) The GIGANTIC FUCKING HERD WE JUST SAW. (you know, the one not far from where they just made a lot of noise). I just don't have faith in the writers for the show to actually choose a path and deliver something great. Also think the financials of this show are really starting to take it's toll. They're having to cut too many main characters out of episodes and drag shit out too much.

^ it's implausible to me that neegan would "see the light"I would have been more upset if they somehow made him become good just by talkingi thought they wrapped this up well so far
4/18/2018 1:42:21 AM
But what "light" is there for Negan to really see based on what we've seen in the show? He recognizes that people are the most important resource we have. (Khorl teaching Rick)He understands that things are better when we're all working together. (Khorl teaching Rick)He gives them all work to do to keep them busy and productive. He uses strict/harsh punishments when said people get out of line.Negan has basically formed a dictatorship where he's ruling over multiple towns. Sure the resources aren't endless and people have to struggle, but it's a post-apocalyptic world and they aren't constantly out scavenging or having to worry about walkers. What light is there to really see from Negan's perspective? The main difference here is that Rick wants everyone to divvy up resources evenly and work together without one central form of leadership. Rick also doesn't want to scare people into following him, but it's not like Rick doesn't have a past of handing out harsh punishments for crossing him or his group.
4/18/2018 9:37:26 AM
I've watched this show since the beginning and I think some are trying too hard to hate on it, as if doing so makes them some how a more evolved television connoisseur. The answers to most of [user]warith[/user]j's questions are fairly straight forward but I'll get to the point that the episode was pretty good. They were able to spin off a new series of threats- the large ass herd and Maggie- without introducing another villainous mastermind from down the street. They were also able to bring forward the vision Carl had about the communities together without having it be some implausible handshake and speech that had Negan see the light. For those curious about the Dwight exile, it was more of a generous thing that allowed him to go find his wife. Darryl even pointed this out by saying "now go find her" after threatening to kill him if he came back. The only thing I don't get at all is why Jesus is part of this coup against [/link]Rick[/link]. Jesus usually talks against such acts of violence and deception and he tends to favor the actions Rick employed. Not sure I get that. Rick and Daryl have had disagreements and Maggie wants to see Glen avenged but Jesus makes no sense.

Really wish they'd be a little more discrete about contract negotiations. Fairly big spoiler released yesterday for Season 9. They really, really need to just go ahead and end the show.

I'd love to see Negan off Rick and take control. The show then ends on an incredibly somber note that there is no hope in the apocalypse.Or, I'd love to see Rick's death deeply affect Negan, he turns a corner and become the leader the group has always needed.Either way, I want the show to end with Negan in charge.
